Friendly, conscious, caring and animals and owners seem to sense all of that. I have had dogs and cats over the years and this is the first vet I have taken my furry family (2 kittens right now) where they arent distressed. In fact I have seen several dogs while Ive been there and they were all relaxed and happy. The vets take the time to explain and offer options. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and if you ask, will take the time to explain and demonstrate techniques (how best to manage a squirming cat, how to apply Revolution, for instance). Itchy and Scratchy are 2 semi-feral adoptees. They both arrived covered with fleas, even after baths the first 2 nights I had them. The docs responded to my plea a couple of days later and squeezed me in on an emergency basis to help eradicate the fleas give advice and provide the best way to treat my home. 2 months later there are no pests whatsoever and the young cats are healthy, feisty and growing big. Today they both had their 3rd visit and they were spayed/neutered as part of a package deal that provides the cats a top notch start in life and the owner a way to afford that care without breaking the bank. They are now fully conscious, hating their protective cones (one way I can tell they are absolutely fine). And now going forward I will be able to purchase Revolution from the Clinic for less than I have seen it anywhere either at pet stores or online. Its clear from everything I have witnessed at Wimberley Veterinary Clinic that they really do care and it definitely shows. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have found this clinic - and so close to home! I never would have dreamed.

We have lived in various cities throughout the state of Texas as my husband is a (now) retired Athletic Director and Head Football Coach. His job has required extensive travel, and along the journey I have dragged my beloved dogs from city to city. I tell you this because I want everyone to know that the Wimberley Veterinary Clinic is, without question, the BEST clinic I have ever found. Drs. Sheffield and Ferguson and their staff of consummate professionals have provided my sweet dog, Roscoe, the finest care of his almost 13 years of life. Roscoe has had many health problems in the last 2 years, and Dr. Sheffield has never hesitated to answer any question I have had, and I have had many. And his caring, loving, wonderful veterinary technicians have treated us with the utmost compassion; they have all gone above and beyond the call of duty, so to speak. Amanda, Jacqueline, Sydney, Trina, Candice, Andre, Bryan....literally ALL of them....share a common bond, and that bond is a love for animals and their needs. My dog was not the easiest to get along with; as a rescue dog who had been adopted 3 times and then returned to the shelter, he definitely had some trust issues, yet these fine people were able to make him feel warm and as content as he could be while away from me. I will be FOREVER grateful to Dr. Sheffield, Dr. Ferguson, and the awesome staff. Thank you for all you did to help my Roscoe live as happily as he did.

We moved our horses down from New Mexico in November of 2016. We had a wonderful vet there, who saved my older horses life and my younger horses life on two different occasions if not more when the young one would colic. We were worried we wouldnt be able to find a vet as good as our Dr. Bobbitt. We met Dr. Sheffield for the first time a week back. He came and examined our horses. He was so thorough, knowledgeable, and the most caring vet weve seen in a long time! We know now that our horses are in great hands. We will continue to learn much from him. I watched him work with Max, our older horses, and he got Max to do things no one ever has in an exam. Captain seemed to like him to and did everything the vet asked of him, even allowing him to pull his tongue to the side so he could really check his teeth! Dr. Sheffield remembered my stating he wasnt taking the bit, and he wanted to make sure he didnt have a tooth issue. We cant say enough good things about the experience. We are looking forward to a long relationship with Dr. Sheffield and learning so much more. The office staff are responsive, to everyone there its been an amazing experience!!!

I took my Baby Revilo into Dr. Sheffields office and I must admit I was scared because all I knew was that something was not right with him and he was in pain. His skin was so messed up & I was a wreck. We had to muzzle my baby because he did not want anyone touching him but me. The nurses came in and I explained to them what had been going on and they were so understanding and caring & even offered to help but I reassured them that we were gonna be fine & that God had us. Dr. Sheffield came right on in and examined my baby and directly signaled in on what was wrong. Revilo calmed down a bit after and he was taken to the back for treatment. Dr. Sheffield came right on in and gave me the treatment plan & I just told him to do what was needed & when they came back with Revilo & the nurse was holding him. I knew he had gone back to normal. He was walking around the office like my normal baby. We made it home , I gave him his meds and its been all smiles since. Could not have asked for more in care for my baby...These guys are awesome.

Wimberley Veterinary Clinic has been our choice for the last three years. Drs. Sheffield and Ferguson have given excellent care to our five Great Pyrenees, two cats, two parrots, two parakeets, seventeen alpacas, two horses, and one llama. We recently lost our donkey, Margarita, to a freak accident involving ancient barbed wire uncovered in the recent flooding. Through that entire awful experience, Dr. Sheffield worked for hours to try to save her, both on an extended initial ranch call and at the clinic after transporting her there. His efforts were heroic but it would have taken a miracle to save her. Throughout, his focus was on the animals wellfare and preventing any needless suffering. The entire staff at the clinic is professional, gentle (with both people and animals), and we are grateful to them all for being there for us and for our animals. Thanks to you all!

Dr. Mike and his staff are a pets best friend. My mom has been taking my brother Dax (hes a cat) and me (Im a Chocolate) Lab to Dr. Mike and them for years. We now travel around the country and when Mom and Dad come home they make sure we get our annual visit to the Doc. I get so excited to see him ( its because he gives me treats when Im good) Dr. Mike always tells my Mom what is good for me and bro and what isnt. If you want a great place to get well here it is. Also Mom and Dad have had to let us spend the night with the Doc while they went on a trip boy did we get spoiled. Just dont tell Mom okay! Well I guess all I can say is Doc is a good guy and he has a great group of helpers. Oh yeah Im getting ready to go visit Doc in a couple of weeks so hope to see ya there! Laney Lu and Dax (the cat)
