I cannot comment on the doctor himself as I never met him during my appointment. But here is my experience with their office. My first (and last) visit to their office began with the receptionist/Medical Assistant. He was really creepy, it is hard to explain how other than he kept looking at me weird and making strange comments. I had my 6 month old daughter with me (didnt have a sitter). The place was really dirty and I couldnt put my daughter on the floor for very long because she started to find garbage. When the creepy medical assistant took me back we stopped to get my weight. When we arrived at a number he chuckled and said "if your weight is different on your scale at home, pick whatever number you like," mind you, I said nothing to prompt a comment. Once in the exam room he proceeded to take me vital signs. When we got to taking my temperature he held a temporal thermometer just above my skin without touching me and pressed the button. When I tried to tell him he was doing it wrong he became defensive. I showed him that on the back of the thermometer it gave the CORRECT instructions on how to use it and still he was defensive. Then the PA arrived. He did his exam stopping at my abdomen and commenting on how soft it was and that I should work on toning that up (might I remind you that I had my 6-month old daughter with me, and he KNEW I was 6-months post-partum). At the end of the exam I mentioned that I had an ear ache with noticeable ear congestion for over a week and that I was worried about an ear infection even though I dont get them very often. He looked in my ear and said there was fluid in my ear (no kidding). His prescribed treatment was to CHEW GUM to release the pressure holding that fluid in there. That was it.... On my way out the door I also noticed a desk behind the reception desk that had patient charts piled so high (maybe a hundred or more) made me a little concerned about patient information safety. To finish things up; I went to a DIFFERENT doctor a week later for treatment of an ear infection that was incorrectly diagnosed. Because it had gone so long untreated it took 2 rounds of antibiotics and steroids on the second round. That is the end of my epic tale. I hope this helps someone. (Sorry for the rant and grammar/spelling errors.)

Dr. Hermansen, and his assistants Laura and Lance are all very personable and listen to what you have to say. My Family Doctor is not your typical cold unfriendly hospital like setting and im glad its not, you feel welcomed when you come here and heard, you are greeted with a warm smile and genuinely asked how you are feeling. Dr. Hermansen was the ONLY doctor out of countless doctors I had seen in years in and out of Utah to diagnose my gastrointestinal issues. His office is able to get me in quickly when I need it, which is important when you get ill frequently. I would highly recommend My Family Doctor.

I LOVE THEM!! My husband and I have been going there for about 5 years. They know us by name and welcome us every time we go in, even if it has been over a year, they still remember us. The staff is kind and amazing and there are always to willing to help. Last night my husband had pulled his back and was not able to move. I called the office and they were able to get us in right away. He needed assistance getting in and out of the car and even walking with how bad his back was. After getting treated, he was able to walk out of there with little to no pain left. Once again, they are just AMAZING!!

After a car accident I was left with neck and shoulder pain for 4 years. I tried many different treatments and doctors. While many things helped alleviate some of the pain it never really went away. I went to Dr. Hermansen and after a series of injections and adjustments the pain FINALLY went away. I wish I would have gone there first. He is friendly and makes sure to address all my issues. The staff is great they try hard to keep the office running on time and always call back if I have a question. I also appreciate the reminder calls.

By far the best doctor I have ever conversed/been seen too excellent, professional, bedside manner! There facility makes you feel at home NOT CORPORATE America! They have an excellent family practice and there whole team 5 star ratings! First class service, you can tell these are wonderful people really trying to help you out. I would highly recommend Layne Hermansen MD. He will answer all of your questions and make you feel at home and most importantly find out what he can do to help. Almost my whole family is seeing him now!

Office was run down. Exam tables looked like portable massage tables. Doctor and Nurse in run down clothes. Docs pants had stains and he wore a leather jacket the entire time which seemed odd. Doctor was completely unprofessional and pried into things that were none of his business. Do not recommend. Look else where for a doctor.

The office is def not the most modern of offices, but after a car accident Dr Hermansen treated me with injections and manipulation. We have a love / hate relationship. I hate to have the injections, but I love how I feel the next day. Hes been awesome to resolve my back, neck and shoulder pain.
