If I had to described my feeling with Banfield in one word, it would be "Disgusted." I was a week away from a cross country move, and when it rains, it pours. My cat developed an extensive abscess around his tail and went downhill so quickly that I knew I had to find a vet ASAP because something was very, very wrong. Naturally it was on a Thursday afternoon that this precipitated, so I did what any good pet parent does and started making phone calls to every vet in the district trying to find an appointment for Winston. I was told by Banfield that they would be only too happy to take my cat; they could drop him right off the very next morning- but I would NOT be able to speak with a vet until he was "better." Aka- after all the "work was done"- And I would have no clue what was going on until they signed off on him, regardless of what state he was in or what sort of bills were going to be incurred. Now who would do this to their child? Why would anyone expect me to do this to an animal? Because yep, Im one of those crazy people that sees them as being on the same playing field. I was told that if I wanted to speak with a vet to at least know what was going on before late afternoon, I would have to wait until Monday; which if any of you have animals, you know you cant just leave them to suffer through the weekend. My advice? Take your pets to Kaysville Veterinary Clinic if youd like to speak with a reasonable vet that is willing to explain to you what is going on with your pet and who cares for your animal and not just your pocket change.

Absolutely hated this place. We had a coupon for a free initial screening of our dog and we thought why not its free! But the moment we got there and they called us back the Vet Tech told us they were under a time crunch and they would "get right to the point". Thats not something you tell someone, we want a personable person with good bedside manner that is going to take the time to get to know our dog and make sure he gets what he needs. Once we went in the first thing the vet tech asked us was have you heard of our pet wellness plan and went on for 10-15 minutes explaining those and making no sense at all with it. Were new pet owners and need things to be explained to us. She never asked us if we wanted to take care of vaccinations today or not and just went back and got the actual Vet and came out with a bunch of shots and vaccinations. They were about to administer the shots/vaccinations and I literally had to reach in between them and tell them no we didnt want to pay for those today and were checking around first to find who we liked the best. And they went on trying to guilt trip us into being terrible owners telling us all these terrible things that can happen to our puppy if we dont take care of the vaccinations right away. Needless to say we told them just hurry up and do what this free coupon covers and we are going to leave. We will for sure never be back to this Vet or location ever again. Do not trust them, they are only there for the money, not for the love the animals.

A lot of people seem to have had bad experiences here but these guys saved me a lot of headache and heartbreak when my cat Dexter was passing. He was very very old and looking incredibly worse for wear and my partner and I had tried to help ease his passing at home rather than have him put down... Dexter hated car rides and strange places and I was afraid of making his last moments full of fear and anxiety. But when we woke up on a Sunday to Dexter crawling on broken legs (he had jumped up and then off of a windowsill but was too weak for the jump off) I knew this was out of my hands at this point. The last animal ER we had gone to had misdiagnosed one of my other cats and had overcharged me for incorrect medication so I took Dexter to banfield. They took us in immediately, explained everything in depth and one vet even came in to check on me and when I confided in feeling foolish for believing I could handle something like this at home, she told me about how something similar had just happened to her and her horse, and she couldnt put him down herself and felt foolish. She reassured me that Dexter was clearly well loved and made me feel so much better about the whole thing. They took good care of me, and him, and the price for everything was nothing compared to Animal ER in Roy, or even my normal vet. I was pleasantly surprised with this place.

I know it might be kind of pricy at first but about three years ago our dog needed surgery and it would have cost us quite a bit of money. Because we had the plan Dr. Urbic was able to bring the cost of the surgery down. She has always been so nice and professional. I can ask anyone there questions and they will sit and talk with you until you have the right info before you leave. I never feel rushed or pushed aside. They always call when the service is complete so I know when to pick up my pets. I can take my pets in any time on the plan, thats helpful because I have a lab mix and who knows what hell get into one day. I also like that most of them remember who my pets are. Jen is one of my favorites. They are all animal people and it is nice to know my fur babies are in their hands when we go. Btw if you dont like the plan it is so easy to call and cancel. No pressure. Weve done it a few times with past pets.

My 2 1/2 year old hyper lab mix got a deep laceration on his leg during one of his epic escape attempts. It was 5 pm on a Saturday and every vet was already closed. I really dislike the emergency animal vet in Sunset so I desperately tried to find a very that was still open. Banfield was open until 7 so we called them up. Even though they were very busy they made time to see my boy. They were very kind to me and my dog even though they were busy. I didnt ever feel like I was inconveniencing them. I wasnt sure about them at first because they are located inside a Petsmart but I was very surprised by our great experience there. Im grateful that they are open until 7 even on Saturdays. They have a new customer for life. Thank you Banfield!

I would recommend staying away from their monthly plan. The plan was sold to my wife last year and it was never explained that she was on the hook for a year. Sure it makes sense now, but not only do you still pay money out of pocket for services but you will pay over $500 for basic shots, neuter, chip, etc. so once you add everything up and compare it to other places its not a good deal at all. You will definitely pay more. Think about it. If it was going to save you loads of money it wouldnt be profitable for Banfield to have the plan, its a money maker. Thats why its sold to you and thats why they push it. Its a rip off, go elsewhere for your services.
