Ive been going to this clinic for seven years. I took my 10 month old pitbull mix to this clinic after her and my 2 year old boxer were in a dog fight the night before, we seen doctor Eric Krasa. The first thing he said when he entered the room was "Is that a pitbull?" My dog was perfectly kind to everyone in the clinic but when he entered the room my dog backed up against the wall, the hair an her back stood up and she growled (which is out of her character). The vet had a musle put on my dog and informed me for 45 minutes in the presence of my 11 year old son and 5 year old daughter that my dog was aggressive and needed to be taken to the shelter to be put down. He went over and over the liability and home owners insurance coverage needed to keep an aggressive pitbull. He stated that puppy classes were no use for this type of dog and giving her to a family that didnt have another female dog would only be pawning my problem off on someone else. He said that my dog would need to be sedated in order for him to clean her wounds because he wasnt going to risk being bitten. I left my dog at the clinic to have her wounds cleaned for about an hour and a half. Upon returning they were reluctant to bring out my dog the vet came in and discussed that she would need an antibiotic twice a day. (Thats all he said.) When the tech finally brought my dog in the room she was crying uncontrollably and urinating all over herself and the floor. He had cut what had been a small tooth puncture wound into a huge gash about a 1/2 of an inch around and at least a quarter inch deep on the top of my dogs nose without telling be before or after he had done it and also never offered any pain medication for the now huge wound on the top of her snout or offered any advice on how to keep the huge open wound clean. I am astounded and apauled with the unprofessionalism and nerve of any veterinarian that would lecture an adult pet owner infront of their two small children on not paying for medical care to treat their injured family member but to rather spend that money on having the dog euthenized. Im also very upset that he cut a huge hole in my dogs face without telling me first. I believe that my dog was neglected and hurt while supposedly having her wounds cleaned all because of the type of breed she is. also after our terrible visit I read these reviews and seen that another pitbull had been mistreated at this clinic. Ill never return.

Un-Professional and inconsiderate. Our dog was very sick, hes an American Pitbull Terrier and had been vomiting for 24 hours, we took him into Fairfield Vet to see Dr. Krasa. Moments after he was taken to the back for X-rays we heard a loud yelping and then our dog was brought back into the exam room and we were told, by the doctor "we dont care where you take him but he cant stay here" apparently he had bitten the Doctor pretty badly, I understand that when a dog is sick he may act differently than normal and I would assume a Dr. would understand the same thing. Kicking us out of the establishment was unacceptable. I have brought my pets to Fairfield Vet for years and have had very nice things to say about Dr. Cook in the past. Dr. Krasa has shown immaturity, and un-professionalism. I dont suggest ever taking a sick animal to Dr. Krasa. After waiting around for our sick dog (whos vomiting every hour) to have animal control come to our home we were able to get him to a doctor who showed him nothing but kindness, knowing before we even arrived that he had bitten somebody. Update: I would like to add that Im convinced this Dr. hurt my dog, after hearing the yelp and the doctor telling us "No dog should bite like that under any circumstances" and having taken him to another vet (3 hours after the original appointment at Fairfield) we were told he had ulcers in his stomach from throwing up for so long, our new vet also told us our dog was sweet and kind to all of the staff, and while he fought the x-ray he never acted inappropriately. This makes me wonder what "circumstances" Dr. Krasa had put my dog through that would cause him to need to defend it so. A different doctor from Fairfield Vet called me today to apologize for what happened and let me know that my dog was still welcome at their hospital. I dont know if Dr. Krasa is a regular Dr. at this Vet but if I ever do return to Fairfield Vet, Ill be sure to stay far away from Dr. Krasa.

Over a period of 18 years we took three different dogs to the doctors at Fairfield Veterinary Hospital. Sadly, beloved animals dont live nearly as long as we would like them to. The first dog (all labs or part labs), got cancer when she was 5 1/2 years old. Dr Whitby and Dr. Richards helped her be as comfortable as possible until it was necessary to say good-bye to her. The second lab had a bad habit of eating anything she could get her teeth into, and while on a little spree close to our home, ate something rotten and it poisoned her intestinal tract before we could realize how sick she was. Again, the doctors were very kind but there was no way to save her. The third dog managed to live for 12 years before coming down with bone cancer. It kind of snuck up on us, and when we took her in to see what the lump was on her hip, the X-ray showed very advanced bone cancer. Dr. Richards urged us not to let her wake up from the necessary anesthesia needed for the X-ray. He said it was only a matter of little time before she would show the signs of being very ill. It was very hard to have to say good-bye to a sleeping dog, and to have to leave her there. We felt that the staff and all the doctors were very capable. We are now pet-less, but if we were to get another dog, we would certainly consider taking it to Fairfield Veterinary hospital.

I have been a customer for Fairfield Vet for 2 years with my two dogs. Every time there, I have had some sort of negative experience. Not to mention, when I recently called around and did pricing comparisons, they were much higher than average. The Vets are friendly enough, but I always feel very rushed. The last time I went, my lab nearly fell off the table as they were raising it and I offered to hold her. The tech was very rude and said "no I have it under control". Clearly. I was recently 10 minutes late to an appointment (which I am never late, but sometimes, life happens!). I was greeted by two very unfriendly receptionists/techs that debated on whether or not to see my dog or reschedule since I was 10 minutes late. I also got a nasty voice mail about how they require 24 hours notice for cancellations. It was the middle of day and there were no cars or other customers, which isnt surprising based on their poor level of customer service. I would be understanding about rescheduling, please treat me like a human being. I will most definitely be giving my trust and business elsewhere.
