Banfield Vet has totally gone down the tubes. I had two cats with serious problems needing vet care at the same time. One cat was taken 1st to First Regional Animal Hospital, who would not do a castration after they repaired his arm "because they will not do procedures which Banfield will do and therefore, take away their business" and this cat was a stray so when I finally corralled him and got him to the vet, I wanted him fixed before he ran around at large again and got into another fight. They released this same cat with an insufficient supply of parasite meds and told me to follow up with Banfield, then Banfield would not refill the prescription because the prescription was originated from First Regional. Also, we were released from the hospital without proper instructions on how long to keep his neck collar on, and a prescription for special food was mixed in with his papers and not discovered until three days later - they could have told us at the vet keep the collar on for 10-14 days, given us a correct supply of 9 days of parasite meds and brought to my attention the prescription for special food. Now Banfield and First Regional are arguing between each other as to who is supposed to refill my parasite medicine for this poor cat as I head into the weekend and he has already missed a day with his meds. After this, we are quitting Banfield because I dont want to keep getting caught in between these two when I am paying good money to both and feel like I am getting no support whatsoever. The care and explanations at both facilities has been very sloppy lately and I also feel that both have overcharged me considerably for unnecessary or duplicative procedures.

We moved to Chandler from Old Town Scottsdale and expected to easily transfer our pets to the Chandler Blvd. location. I have an elderly dog with nasal cancer and when I called for an appointment, there was no availability for quite some time. I felt brushed off - even after 12 loyal years as a Banfield customer. There were never appointments and that astonished me as most pet needs are not just routine - most are often of the nature where there is an immediate need to be seen. We ultimately went to the South Chandler location, even though its not convenient, because the customer service was so much better. Recently, my husband went in to buy the hypoallergenic (82 dollars a bag) food for our aging dog and the prescription had expired. In the past, we have simply gone to whatever Banfield and they looked us up and gave us a new card. Not this location. They were rude and insisted my dog would need to be seen, even though shes never had anything but this food for 12 years. Instead of offering to call the other location for me and simply get the OK to make a new card, they made me jump through all these hoops, FOR FOOD. For an elderly dog dying of cancer. Never again.

Writing this review due to the lack of quality service we receive from this Banfield. We have had a puppy coming here on his Pet Wellness Plan for months, every time we have an appointment it’s a different person. Which is ok if the service is up to par, unfortunately it is not. While the Doctors do seem knowledgeable our recent interaction with them has proved they could care less about our puppies well being. Our puppy had an emergency a few blocks away from the hospital and they refused to see him because they closed at 6, a few minutes after we would have arrived. If you’re looking for a hospital you can build rapport with, this isn’t the place. If you are looking for a hospital that cares about your animals, this isn’t the place.

I arrived about 10 minutes early for my pets appointment and still had to wait another 20 minutes past the appointment time to be seen. Their excuse was construction, which if thats the case, dont schedule more visits than you have the capacity to see. Regardless of that 2 other individuals were in and out by the time I was seen. They ended up giving me a discount for the wait. The doctor and beer tech were apologetic and very nice so it made up for the inconvenience.

Murphy was 12 1/2 and was a wonderful buddy. we had him since he was 7 weeks old and we had to have him put down for medical reasonsthat could not be repaired. he just got old and we had to let him go to puppy heaven. it was anawful experience but the people at banfield were very helpful in making it as easy as it could be considering. Thank you Banfield thank you

By far, the biggest scam artists going on in let health care! Never take your pet there expecting a fare price when something is needed or a surgery needs done. They will take you to the cleaners! Expect to pay four times as much or more.
