BEST VET EVER!!! When I went to an other clinic they told me my dog needed a hysterectomy of sorts and they needed to remove two tumors. Which was guesstimated to cost 1400 for my 9 pound 12 yr old dog(at the time she was 12). When I took her to osguthorpe for a second opinion he told me that the hysterectomy was unnecessary for my dog. Plus he explained to me that one of the tumors was a cyst and it didnt need to be removed and then he ALSO found an additional tumor the others didnt know of. To remove the tumors cost a fraction of what the hysterectomy and tumor removal I had been told me needed to be done ASAP. Considering the hysterectomy could have killed her and wasnt needed for my dog in particular Im very happy I went to him for the second opinion. He explained to me my dogs situation and choices. He helped me a great deal to understand the hysterectomy could be needed later on if she had other symptoms arise, but we needed only to remove the tumors and that was the safest route for my dog considering her age and lack of other symptoms. He also explained the benefit my dog would get from NOT having multiple surgeries done at once. Like she would not be put under for a long period of time(which in its self could kill her) and her bodies ability to heal and ability to bounce back would be greater. Then if later she did need a hysterectomy for SURE the surgery would be shorter and her body would have less to heal. I can go on about how great they are and how they have helped me with my dog through so much! I take my dog to him whenever needed now and they have always been there for me when I call for assistance. My dog is doing GREAT!!

I took my 15 year old cat in because he was not eating well and had lost 3 pounds over the course of a few months. He told me that this was somewhat normal for an older cat. Three months later i brought him in again and he again minimized my concerns. When he continued to get worse, eventually he decided to give him a blood test. We found out he had kidney failure, a very common issue of cats and that there was nothing that could be done and he would die within the week. Upon bringing my cat to a different vet and doing some basic internet searches, I learned that much is commonly done for the cats comfort and possibly extending life. Dr Oscuthorpe didnt offer any of the commonly known and used solutions, even just for the cats comfort. Ziggy lived another few months with out discomfort with basic treatment which gave me, and his twin brother, time to say goodbye. I was able to make him feel comfortable and enjoy his last few months prior to deciding to euthanize him due to his discomfort. I filed this incident with the veterinarian board but they didnt find this as neglect. I feel a vet should give all available information to let the owner make choices they feel are best for their pets.

Was just at the office with my 13 year old pit bull who we feared had squamous cell carcinoma on his nose. Jerry came up to Pablo, in the waiting area, took one look, asked how old he was and proceeded to tell us it was a "growth". He then walked into the exam room where I asked his back what this meant, what the prognosis was. Jerry responded, not good. He had his back to us the entire time and refused to answer any questions. Finally, I said, you know what, your bedside manner is not appropriate at all. Maybe to you hes just another dog but hes part of our family. Jerry told us to get out and take our dogs elsewhere. I asked what I had done that was so offensive and he accused me of expecting the moon. Jerry gave no explanation or sympathy. I know jerry is dying and I sympathize for what he and his family must be going through but maybe its time for him to give up the practice and enjoy the time he has left. I would never wish anyone to find out they are loosing a family member this way. Needless to say, we are now at cottonwood animal hospital awaiting some sort of explanation.

I took my new cat to him because i suspected he qas having health problems. He was very impatient, didnt want to listen to my description of his behavior, made comments like..."if youd let me speak".... he suggested a treatment for my cat and i had to reschedule. In the mean time the cat got sicker so i brought him in again. I had my 3 and 5 year old sons with me... he made commenta like he couldnt hear himself over the boys, rolling his eyes when i tried to quiet them, i asked if he had any kids and he said 4 but they never got away with what my kids were doing... which was simply making noise..? They were seated, just being boys. .. i asked to clarify his instructions and he acted irritated as if it was a stupid question... his male secretary had the nerve to tell my kids to be quiet and NOT in a nice way. I will never go back not even for a follow up. If i could stand outaide and redirect people away from his rude practice i would, but i have better things to do. I will pray dor him as he must be a miserable person.

We have taken all of our dogs to Dr. Osguthorpe since I can remember. He has cared so much about each and every one of them and always given us the best answers on how to help them when theyre sick. He knows a lot about every dog that comes into his office. My little Harley has gone to him to get all her shots and hasnt yelped or anything, he is very gentle. He made sure to show our dogs that they are loved even at the doctors, and knows that theyre a crucial part of a family so he does whatever he can to keep them around as long as he can. We love dr. Osguthorpe and would recommend him for everyone! Love having him as our family vet! Thank you for all your company has done for us.

Best darn vet in town. Ive been taking my pets to Dr. Osguthorpe for over ten years. He is a no nonsense vet who loves what he does, loves animals and has provided the best care for my dogs and cats over the years. Even when Ive rushed one of my pets in to his clinic without an appointment, he has made time for me. Ive got no complaints. Only high marks for the Osguthorpe Animal Hospital. His employees have given me the same consideration and friendly smiles every single time Ive walked through that door. Better never retire, Doc. Thank you for your service!

I dont know the quality of care they give to pets, but the care I received when I called was less then desirable. I called to find out how much they charged for a spay and what it included, like a chip or over night stay, pain management, anesthesia and all the things that a pet owner should know before they schedule this procedure. The receptionist rudely inferred that I didnt care about the quality of the procedure if I was calling many clinics to get pricing and she refused to quote me over the phone.
