I am a pretty good judge of character. This was my first time visiting Mountain View Animal Hospital. My cat kept scratching at her chin until it opened a wound. It was only that spot, so most likely not fleas... I had the pleasure with speaking with Dr. Jennifer. She took a sample of the wound and was able to diagnose the exact bacterial infection. (Staff infection) The previous vet I went to diagnosed it as, "some kind of skin irritation". She also gave me some preventative measures that might have caused the infection. We think its an allergy to plastic. The last vet just gave me some salve and told me to apply it on her 2-3 times a day, without telling me a possible cause. They also gave me a hard plastic cone for my cat (since we dont want her scratching it) which freaked my cat out. Mountain view gave me a soft cone and it better suits my cat. That small gesture means a lot to me. I want to find out the root cause, and not just cure the symptom because then it will be back again. (Duh!) I want to make sure the vet cares for my animals comfort, and that is where Mountain View exceeds. The only con I have, which isnt really a con, is that they are pricey. I paid $81 simply for the unscheduled walk-in. When you schedule, it is $50. But you are paying for the general examination of your pet, and they do a thorough job. I dont think this is a con because you can tell the staff and the experienced doctors work hard to find the root cause of the problem AND cure any symptoms. So I think my money is well spent. They did a great job, they also have an amazing atmosphere. Its not a small, white, or dirty clinic. It feels like a house. Theres seating everywhere, a kids play pen (could use a washing) and I enjoy that there are two different doors for dogs and cats. Most places dont have that. Anyway, I am pleased with the service. I will be back.

Im super upset after my visit today. My pup is a year and needed all of her vaccines (she hadnt had any but the first 2 rounds of puppy shots) and she is super sweet, but a very high-anxiety dog who has made incredible progress and come a very long way from when we got her. I asked what the price would be and was told $51. I made sure to verify that we were coming in for ALL her shots. They confirmed, and didnt even mention to me that the shots are actually $15 each. The shots are around $38 for the lot at the Human Society so I figured that sounded like it could be right. I came prepared to pay $100 though, just in case. We checked in and the staff was friendly enough, but my anxious pup was in a new place and being vocal and antsy. I was actually feeling super proud of her though, because she wasnt even able to go to public places without having a complete meltdown just some months ago and she was being friendly and happy. We were put into a room, which did help her calm, but we were pretty much looked down on, it felt like, for the rest of our time there. Trainers were suggested, and when I tried to explain how well she was actually doing today- for her- I got an eye roll and some trainers cards. The visit was $168. I wasnt told this until we were leaving. They dont offer payment plans or billing options. I felt pretty judged the whole time, nobody offered any kindness, but rather seemed annoyed with us the entire visit. I really did try to come prepared, but their communication skills are awful, and the doctor didnt care at all to hear about my dog as an individual. I wont be returning.

After adopting our cat, we noticed he had a runny nose, and upset stomach. Online symptom checkers were scary because it ranged from a cat-cold to sudden-death-horrible-disease-of-awful. We called them on a Saturday and they were able to see us the same day to take a look at him. I was really impressed that: 1. They were open on the weekend (currently Saturday & Sunday) 2. They were really pleasant about getting us in, especially late notice, and on a Saturday. They got our cat some medicine and pro-biotics for his symptoms, and after a few weeks he was doing much better. We then had to take our cat to them again when he was having some behavior issues that again, online symptom checkers said wild things about. Turns out the shelter we got him from had been mistaken about him already having been neutered. The vet said he was in heat, and they got him in to be neutered and micro-chipped in that same visit. I had read a bunch of stuff online about medicines for cats that might not be good for them, and the Veterinarian that worked with us was super knowledgeable and willing to answer and address questions and concerns we had. I cant say enough good things about Mountain View Animal Hospital. I highly recommend them if your animal needs help, or even just a check-up. We no longer live near them, but because of the experience we had might likely keep driving the half hour back to them just because we know what kind of service we can expect. Thanks for everything MVAH!

We had a 2:30 appointment, showed up on time. They told us they didnt have us scheduled until 3.30. I showed them the confirmation email I got that clearly stated our appointment was at 2:30. They told us there may be a small wait but could get us in. After waiting for 40 min in the waiting room, I asked if they were going to be able to get us in sometime soon because we had other plans that day. She said yes, said she would go check in with the vets. After another 15 minutes of waiting ( nearly an hour long wait total) we left. Mind you, no customers were waiting in the lobby when we left. There was no one there waiting when when we got there. One customer came in behind us, but needless to say after visiting this office for many years.... it was the slowest Ive ever seen it. Unfortunately, we will not be back. The front desk workers were very unapologetic and handled the situation with lack of care for us. Response to owner: You are right, we have been a loyal client for the past 5-6 years. You have my contact information. If you wanted to make it right, you could have easily contacted me.

If only I could rate them 6 stars! Dr Kanda and the staff at Mountain View are exceptional. I adopted a senior pet who had some health issues. Dr Kanda worked with me to get him comfortable and figure out his issues. I love that not only does she know traditional treatments, she is also familiar with holistic options. You dont find that in other vets. When my other dog, developed diabetes and other ailments, I was faced with treating two senior dogs at the same time. The emotional and physical strain on our family was hard. But, the entire staff at Mtn View was so kind, caring, and professional. I cant even express all the ways they helped out our family through a difficult time. They helped us through 2.5 years of treatment and cried with us when it was time to say goodbye. The staff is top notch, they return calls promptly, they check back in to see how your pet is doing, and they offer all of their services at fair prices. Ive been to several animal hospitals in the valley and I drove 30 minute to get to Mountain View. I recommend them to all my friends. Thank you!
