Dr. Pace seems genuinely interested in the well-being of each patient. That said, I will be looking for another primary care physician, which is a shame. I was with the same PCP for 20+ years before he retired, & found Dr. Pace after that time. The main difference between the two (and why I will be finding a new doctor yet again), is the way the office is run. My previous doctor pushed his staff hard to ensure processes were in place that allowed for patients to be seen within a few minutes of their scheduled appointment time. If he was 5 minutes or more later, he would apologize profusely. He understood that time is valuable, & respected the patients time as much as his own. Orem Family Medicine is not that way. There has never been a time where I have waited less than an hour. The office staff seem as though they struggle working together in a way that provides structure & efficiency. They also dont seem to be invested in or committed to good service. As a result, it seems Dr. Pace is consistently behind, & the actual time spent with him in the room is limited & continues to be shortened each time I go in for a visit. I have never had a staff member acknowledge the wait time, or empathize that that may be inconvenient for patients. I have also had so many struggles in getting prescriptions refilled, & in being able to find out lab results. I have never been able to call in and speak to a Nurse directly; you always have to leave a message, and it typically takes at least 24 hours for them to call back. When they do, they arent prepared with the needed information, which causes more churn. I know it will take some time, but I am certain I can find a PCP office that respects me as much as I respect them, much like my previous doctor.

My doctor is definitely amazing and while some of the staff are incredibly kind, I have not found that to be the case with most of their new staff. They dont LISTEN. It is very frustrating and are not concerned about ever getting back to about almost anything if you call in. There are two receptionists there who are great and get things where they are supposed to be but the others are rude and and I have had to call back in to get things sorted to where they need to be. Scheduling is horrible and they are a allowed to be as late as they want (few receptionists ever apologize for it even when it extends to 2 hours with my 1 year old getting fussy) to be but I have had to reschedule if I have been even 10 minutes late when I live a half hour away. Today was for being 18 minutes late because I called on the way and they said 15 been hough I have been told on multiple occasions that the policy is 20. The lady was absolutely snippy and rude about it. They are usually entirely unapologetic for it and that is the thing that bother me the most. At least be nice. AT LEAST understand. I call on my way always and they have told me I was fine multiple times and had me turn around as soon as I got there! It irritates me so much and leaves me in a bad mood for the rest of the day. I sometimes have to be seen by an Instacare or ER instead, and at that point, what is the point of having a regular doctor anyway? I also feel judged by the new nurses mostly because of their reactions so I hate telling them anything and sometimes dont even though they are sometimes things I really need to discuss. It is incredibly frustrating. Like I said though, I think the doctors are great. I just wish that their staff was a good.

Ah, where to begin. I arrived at my appointment 10 minutes early and was shown to the examination room by some petite girl with long brown hair. She asked me the questions and left so I could change into my robe for my annual well woman check up. After 55 minutes of sitting there alone with nobody checking on me I called the front desk to ask WTH was going on. After 1 hour and 16 minutes she came back in and apologized and the doctor followed. Dr. Pace was nice but he rushed the visit and didnt even give me the pelvic exam I was there for, claiming it was fine since it had "only" been 3 years since my last one. They asked me how many movie tickets I wanted for my wait, I said 4. They gave me one. Lying rats and cheap. Unbelievable. The doctor ordered an ultrasound for me after my visit. I had to call them twice to have them send in the order to the radiology department so I could schedule that visit. Terrible service at best. This is healthcare people, not a cattle service. Absolutely deplorable service and attention. Will never come back here. Unfortunately UHC only covers these sorry places called doctors offices.

Why do they have an answering service with no medical knowledge answering the phones? If Im asking questions about a test for Down syndrome for my unborn child and the answering service says "oh yes! Is that the glucose test?" I feel a sense of alarm. Ive had to sit through 40 minute phone calls and spent 35 of that time on hold because they were calling the office to get answers to my questions and when I had a question about the answer they came back with they had to put me on hold and call the office AGAIN! How does this make sense? Just cut out the middle man and let me speak to a nurse directly! When I actually do go in for an appointment. I dont see a Doctor until 45-1 hour past my scheduled time. That is so frustrating to a parent who has to get a babysitter for each appointment just for them to take 5 minutes to check my blood pressure and listen to my babys heartbeat. Love Dr. Berry, I trust him and he has the best bedside manner but Im starting to feel like the hassle is just not worth it.

They see way too many patients at this office to even justify a "correct" diagnosis. Dr. Berry especially is too busy & sees too many patients to even remember why they were coming in in the first place. All they seem to care about is the money. Unfortunately earlier this year I got misdiagnosed and my illness went on and on without the right treatment and turned into something much worse. It couldve been avoided if treated correctly. I had to find someone who actually remembers how to diagnose, has time for the patient, and follows up. Calling for lab results is a joke. Even while youre in the office, youre waiting 45 minutes to over an hour or two. Its ridiculous and so frustrating. No one should have to go through such a bad experience at the doctors office. Im just being honest here - I dont recommend it to anyone. Save your time and trouble...just pick a different office.

The doctors are great but the billing is criminal. I put my debit card info into their tablet check-in device to pay for my $5 copayment because they had already accepted my insurance and were even in-network. It wasnt until I returned home and checked my bank account online that I discovered that they had charged my debit card the entire amount for the visit without billing my insurance. It was $183 that was charged on my card when it was supposed to be only $5. At least when I called to complain, they did the right thing and reversed the charge, crediting me back $178. But it never should have happened. Something fishy there. I checked, and what they did is a form of insurance fraud. If I ever need to go back there, I will be sure to bring $5 cash. They wont be getting my new card number. I suggest everyone pay your copay with cash only.
