***updated 8/30/16*** (With a side note that the five stars is for Doctor Crump. Dont see the NP Janice. As youll see in the legitimate reviews Dr. Crump is an amazing doctor (and will be my family doctor until the day he retires) I wish I could review Janice apart from his practice) Dr. Crump is an amazing Doctor. He has wonderful bed side manor and truly cares about his patience. His nurse practitioner Janice on the other hand is completely the opposite. She is standoffish, and makes a habit of treating patience like they are criminals. My wife and I have been going to see Dr. Crump for over a year after a major car crash. During that time we have never asked for an increase in dose, or amount. We do regular tests to make sure we are not abusing. The tests show we are always doing things the right way. Every so often Dr. Crump will be out of the office, and are only option is to see Janice. This hasnt been isolated I have a degenerative disk disorder, and 8 years ago had a vertebrae slip. The pain was so bad I could barely move. She still insisted and trying to force me through all of the tests to a point tears were streaming down my face. It was obvious I was in an extreme amount of pain. Janice gave me a very mild muscle relaxer. When I asked for something to help with the pain she immediately started telling me that they didnt keep that sort of thing. I told her I understood and was actually asking for a prescription from the office of my family doctor for more then ten years. She finally begrudgingly gave my a prescription for loratab 5mg, and referred me to a pain clinic. After a comparatively minor examination they changed the prescription to 10mg percocet. I understand narcotics are an issue, and that there are pill chasers. But when a patient of nearly 15 years is treated like a criminal, and forced to do things that cause then to sob with pain to then be treated like they are a criminal for asking for something to help you are taking things to far. (Far enough that patients may seek pain relief through other manners putting theirs lives at risk). She spends her time not trying to make you feel better or come up with ways that we can improve our lives. She spends her entire time letting us know that she feels like we our criminals, and to make things worse will order extra tests to help her prove this. When the tests show that we arent abusing the medication she doesnt even apologize for her rude behavior. In my opinion it is only a matter of time before she lets this minor amount of power she has go to far to her head, and gets the entire staff at lake view family medical involved in a malpractice lawsuit. If I were an owner I would send her on her way before she pulls the rest of you down. Dr. Crump as your patient of several years Ive changed this to reflect upon your exemplary treatment of my family, but in my opinion Janice is going to take things to far one of these days and I dont want her to be the brick that drags you down.

I originally picked this doctor for its good reviews and the fact that it was close to my husbands work so he could make appts during his hour lunch break. His first appt (July) it took him 1 hour to even see Dr. Crump but we felt like he was able to solve the problem. They wanted to have my husband come back over a span of 3 months for blood work to see how the medication was working and it was all down hill from there. It always took 40 mins to 1 hour to see the doctor. Dr. Crump came in once and asked my husband to catch him up on why he was there because they were in the middle of updating their systems and couldnt get to his file (wheres the back-up?). We got charged to have a nurse draw blood when its suppose to be free and they had the same lab doubled and charges us for both. They never called with the lab results and when we called for them they didnt have them (1 week later). They blamed it on the system again. I called and talked to the manager, Kregg, and he assured me he would talk to Dr. Crump to see why there was so much miscommunication and call me back. Two weeks later I still hadnt heard anything so I called him again and he asked me to remind him of my situation. So we left after that. We found a new doctor down the street who gets us in the appt in 5 mins, is well informed as to why we are there, is kind, asks questions, and is very knowledgeable. We just found out that my husband may not need the medication Dr. Crump prescribed for life. Im just happy we found a good, new doctor. I wasnt planning on writing this review until I just received the same bill for the 3rd time that was paid over the phone the 1st time (its now March). I called last month and told them I paid it and they finally found out that I did. I called again and said I already paid it and they dont have any record of that or notes that I called last month. SMH. Save the headache and go somewhere else.

***Update 6-28-2016*** Since posting the below information I have seen a significant change in this doctors office. Ive met with Dr Crump and the nurses and all have been wonderful. Ive had to come in frequently for a condition and they have consistently treated me with respect and concern. The new Nurse Practitioner is a breath of fresh air as she takes the time to listen to my issues and inquires further into my problems to better diagnose me. I am keeping my previous comment below as a contrast of where this practice once was to where it is now, well done! ***Update 6-28-2016*** Most of the time I go in, they make me see the nurse and not the doctor, yet they charge the same. My most recent experience has been horrible. After my appointment I received a prescription which I took to get filled. It was sent back to the doctors office to have a pre authorization done with the insurance. I called them about it and they seemed to know nothing about it. After 2 days of this I have called 6 times and have been transferred to the MA department which apparently doesnt work because it always goes to voicemail. I talked to the receptionist who said she would have them call me back as they were in a meeting. After leaving messages and being told I would receive a call back, I have yet to receive anything but frustration. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy!

I cannot recommend Dr. Crump after my experience with him this afternoon. There are so many great doctors in the area, that there is no reason to accept sub-par care and unprofessional treatment. My story: I was looking for a new primary care physician and decided to try out his practice. My first impression was just fine. His office was well decorated, and his staff was helpful. However, when I actually met with him, I was taken aback by his abrasiveness and superiority. For a family doctor, he was quite unfriendly to my children, he interrupted me and told me to be brief as I explained my symptoms. When I told him he was making me uncomfortable, he confronted me about my being 10 minutes late to the appointment (his bldg isnt labeled and I had to call for directions). I told him I didnt think that this was working out, so he hit the table and said, "Well, fine! Go get your co-pay back and leave." Which I did. I called his office manager to complain about how I was treated in front of my 2 small children. She was condescending and completely unhelpful. Bottom line is, run, dont walk away from Lakeview Family Medicine.
