I went to the ER with severe abd pain and signs of a gi bleed, ct and labs were negative. Ultra sound showed cyst. They took out my iv and told me they were going to see if oral meds managed the pain. New staff arrived and the nurse without checking to see if the meds were effective came into the room and started giving me discharge instructions (which were different the the md discussed with us). Mind you I was crying from the abd pain when she walked in. She told my husband when he voiced his concern about my uncontrolled pain and blood pressure that I wasnt dying the ct and labs were negative and they would not be able to control the pain. When asked to speak with the doctor was told he left and she would see if the other doctor would even want to speak with us. Called the shift manager who was just as rude and kept asking if we just wanted more narcotics. When the doctor came in he ordered two injections and said we will see if it helped. My blood pressuee again elevated they switched cuffs (as if the whole time I was able to fake an elevated bp) and it read 154/125. Which the dystolic was higher with this cuff vs the last one. My husband who knew why they changed the cuff laughed and the tech begain to belittle him and I spoke up telling her she was inappropriate and when she said she was offended by his gesture I asked her to leave my room. I ended up having an emesis in the garbage and with puke running out my nose the Next thing I know three security guards are outside the door with the statement you get us when your asked to leave and you dont go. Wait.. when did we get asked to leave, we were told lets see if the meds worked before dc.. Then when i requested the doctor the original doctor came in first with high attitude then seemed friendlier. They treated me like I was a drug addict, this is my first er visit in over 8 yrs. They acted like I only wanted narcs when I have several percocet from my surgery over a month ago with the rx only being for a qty of 20. They treated me as if I was able to fake the 150 to 178 systolic and 95 to 110 dystolic bp. When told my baseline bp is 100-110/70s. They brought security in after the other dr said we could see if an antispasmodic worked before discharge. I never had this care, i consider myself a good patient, i never over ask for things, and hardly ask for anything. I had pain that was never managed, bleeding that was never dx. I would never as a nurse treat patients the way I was treated. I am not sure how all tge above happened. My family and myself are floored with the way this turned out. I would never go to this ER again.

Terrible! I was in the ER after an accident and in shock(very very cold). I asked for blanket to warm myself (part of the procedure for treating shock) and the nurse said shell get that. Time passes and still no blanket. The exact same nurse later came back and i AGAIN requested a blanket. She AGAIN said that she would get one. TIme passes and still nothing. In the end i waited until the Doctor came in and requested a blanket from her only to received one on my way to get X-Rays. The X-ray tech was compotent and considerate, but unfortantely my time with him ended and i was back under the watch of the nurses. They sat outside of the curtain taking crap about their coworkers and the others doctors until the doctor returned with the X-rays prints. She looked at the X-rays explained that she thought it was broken, but would give me the radiologist reading because her diagnosis isnt the offical one. She said that she would return with the radiologist diagnosis in 5 minutes. Waiting ....waiting .... waiting (25 minutes pass) and a Medical personal shows up to splint the break. Outside of the curtain they asked the nurses "I have never done this; how do i do it?" the nurses laugh and said "there is no way to mess it up, just throw it on it and make sure its tight" (paraphrasing). The newbie walks into the room shaking more than i am (keep in ming the break and the shock) and proceeds to fubble through the process. During this the doctors returns sees the newbie struggling and took over (the nurses where just outside the curtain the whole time now talking about their favorite restaurants). Thankfully the doctor was compotent enough to perform the procedure and discharged me. I was in the ER for 4.25 hours i believe, and only received one warm blanket. Was ignored by the staff! Pressured to receive unnecessary treatments. Directly exposed (and made aware) to my care givers incompotence, and to this day am yet to be given the offical reading from the radiologist. Hopefully your reading this management (and hopefully the root cause of the problem isnt a top-down lack of compotence/disinterest). The ER wasnt busy when i was there. Of the 4 rooms in my section there was 1 other patient (who seemed stable and looked like they had an injured shoulder) who eventualy left unannouced (probably because they were sick of waiting). Unless it is medial procedure to treat patients through indifferance, incompotence, and medical bills yall need to figure something out.

My sister was involved in a small T-bone accident, her pain increased as the day went on. We went to this emergency room where everything went wonderful. The staff was happy which brightened our moods. They felt her neck to see if they could feel anything out of the ordinary. Thats when the PA on site did something which increased her pain level. We waited for the medications they promised her. Her x-rays were administered quickly. When the PA asked if she had received her pain meds, she responded with a no. They prescribed her a pain medication that she has had experience with prior, but still had due to it having no affect on her body. We asked for something different, or even just a higher dose. They responded with, "...it was protocol for her type of injury." We understand, but we came here to get something to take the pain away. It became frustrating when her pain increasd because of something the Dr. did but the PA still had the one answer. We asked about an IV and the blonde nurse said it would take 30 minutes for them to receive the IV from the pharmacy and have it administered. Which would take as long as the medicine to kick in. She then responded with its about $400 more and its not worth it to her. This is where MY frustration started. It wasnt about how fast we could get the pain to recede, it was about our knowledge and experience of this medication doesnt work for my sister. We asked for a different approach to a resolution but it wasnt "worth it" to the nurse. My sister immediately didnt want to be at this hospital because it felt like they knew her pain level and how her body works. They made the decision for her on the IV, they decided her pain level, and tha we are likely to not come back. They didnt offer any assistance to relieve her pain with a pillow or offer a blanket. I dont know why we went to a hospital to get relief when they informed her, the pain would get worse before it got better over the next few days but they were only going to prescribe her a medication that didnt work.
