The reviews seem to reflect that no one else has had the experience here that I did. Im glad for that, but I still feel sick thinking about this place and the poor choice I made to take my boy here when he was sick. Upon picking my cat up from a tooth removal (I was told a bad tooth had caused the infection) I found him sitting in his own feces, and other animals feces in numerous places on the outside of his carrier. He was many hours post-surgery, anesthesia well wearing off, and he was being sent home with the IV still in his arm. I pointed this out to the vet and he didnt believe me, upon seeing it himself he bragged "Oh, thank you! Now I get to yell at her!" A disgusting joke about mistreating his assistant. He took my cat into the back and told me to go pay. As I discovered the bill, which was much higher than we discussed that morning, I could hear terrible yowling and crying and a kerfuffle from the back, my sweet 16 year old cat was in horrible pain. This went on for about ten minutes and I begged to go back and help, denied. By the time the vet came back out with him the top of his carrier was broken and he was insisting my cat was violent and I should be careful with him. Absolutely not true, never has been, my partner and I were able to interact with him immediately without issue. Their mistreatment and putting him through that much pain so far beyond anesthesia was clearly problematic. I immediately took him to another vet, got them his records and showed them the pulled tooth. I was told that the meds wed been prescribed (effectively cat opioids) were not wise for the infection/healing from surgery, and that if the infection had been dealt with properly in the first place he wouldnt have needed the extraction at all. This was the most costly and painful mistake Ive ever made on his behalf, I should have gotten a second option but was too worried about his condition. When I spoke with the owner(head vet?) I was essentially told that I was lying, despite evidence and a witness, and they owed me nothing. Please, choose another veterinarian.

Just went for the first time today, and this vet appointment was better than any Ive had in my many years of owning pets. I have an old man dog with a handful of health issues, and since Ive moved to SLC just over a year ago hes been shuffled around to different vets at sugarhouse who regularly had different opinions about the same problems, and hes had to go to the ER vet several times because they werent able to fit him in for several days at a time over at sugarhouse. Went today just for visit to get everything straight and have all of his records and medications reviewed by ONE person in ONE sitting, and it was simply amazing. The vet spent AN HOUR with us, reviewing everything very carefully and answering every question I had. And I left feeling more comfortable and confident in that vet than I have ever, and am quite confident that just this one visit extended my dogs life substantially - while other vets have been wavering about whether its time to put old man down, this vet just saw solutions and believed there was good hope for longevity - WITH far better quality of life than hes had recently with his under-treated pain. This was truly a game-changer appointment - whether his pain improves is not yet known of course, but the logic and details behind why we would expect a difference were simply obvious it seems, and Im pretty upset in hindsight that I didnt end up here first so my buddy had such a hard year that was likely for nothing!

Today we called our local vet because our little KiKi was vomiting. As has often happened when an urgent care need arises, we were told to go elsewhere. So, I called my daughter to find out what vet she had gone to after adopting her last cat. (Laura have raved about how competent, compassionate, and reasonably-priced the care was.) So, I called OCVC, was greeted by a friendly voice, and was welcomed to bring my sick kitten in asap. The extra 15 minute drive was so worth it! The staff and Dr. Tarassov were amazing!...The doctor even gave me his cell phone number in case my kitten fails to respond to her treatment or gets sick over Sunday. In my experience, very few people in any profession are willing to provide this kind of service. I am thrilled that my daughter and her husband recommended Olympus Cove Veterinary Clinic! Our pets now have a new care provider that we know will always put their needs first!!! (Also, when was the last time you saw a vet play with and cuddle your kitten after s/he had drawn blood?) Amazing!!! Thank you!

Got a cat from the Humane Society and took it here because they were near us and had some good ratings on Google Maps. My wife ended up taking the cat in both times. The first time they found some bad teeth that the Humane Society missed. We went back to the Humane Society because we were told by two people there that they would take care of the cat no charge. When we took her back there, they said they could not help us. We ended up taking it back to Olympus Cove and they said they could take care of her teeth. They ended up finding that 4 teeth were bad and had to be pulled. They didnt charge us as much because they were appreciative that we did not abandon the cat at the Humane Society after finding the rotten teeth. The staff and the vet are amazing from what my wife tells me and I believe it from how they handled our cats situation. This is a great vet. I havent met many vets like this. They are genuinely concerned about our cats health and they are extremely nice and easy to work with. I highly recommend them!

I couldnt recommend this clinic more! Both the doctors and the staff, ALL OF THEM, are kind and you can tell that each of them genuinely care about the pets. All of the staff here are knowledgeable and the Doctors take the time to thoroughly and respectfully listen to all of your concerns and answer all of your questions. Dr. Tarassov gives great advice and sound diagnosis. He doesnt rush, rather, he patiently takes the time to explain to you the ins and outs of each diagnosis to help ease your mind and ensure that you gain some understanding of the biological reasons and processes behind your pets symptoms so that you understand why he is recommending each treatment. He also has taken the time each visit to discuss dog training techniques, and even demonstrated them for us with our dog.

We are transfering both of our dogs records to this clinic. Called at 4:00 on a Saturday after one of our dogs broke her nail on her paw. They told us to come right in. Not only did they do a great job fixing her nail they did a full exam (which was complementery for new customers). The Dr. was very thorough explaining everything as he was examining, and also letting us know what to keep an eye out for. I Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great vet in Salt Lake.
