VETERINARIANS WHO DECLAW CATS ARE MONSTERS POSING AS SAINTS.......I did take my cat here once, they treated her fairly. I dont like the fact that they declaw cats. I posted an informative article on their FB page about declawing, and they blocked me. I have two dumped cats who were declawed and they have post declaw medical complications. Declawing is amputation of each distal phalanx toe bone, a major orthopedic surgery that leaves a cat in pain.Forever. Cats hide their pain. Here is my published article from a local newspaper. There are two bills in legislation now to ban declawing, one in Hawaii and one in New York. Americans are barbarically amputating their cats for the sake of keeping their inanimate furniture in pristine condition. Declawing is a major orthopedic surgery, the removal of each separate distal phalanx toe bone. Veterinarians do not tell what the procedure entails because declawing is a lucrative business.According to the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association (SCVMA), most veterinarians offer declawing and 5% make over $1000/hour performing the procedure. Clients who bring their cats to these veterinarians typically report that neither the nature of the procedure, complications, nor humane alternatives is ever discussed. Many vet techs are quitting practices who declaw because they find it cruel and barbaric. This excerpt of a vet tech was found online..."I can not tell you how many times I heard the cats come out of anesthesia screaming after a declaw. They would throw themselves around the cages, banging their faces, bandaged paws, everything against the walls and the bars. They would fly into a frenzy, ripping off their bandages and gnawing on the mutilated limbs. There would be blood everywhere, on the cage, on the cat. And the screaming would last for hours." I have also read of a cat who killed herself thrashing around in her recovery cage. The person who wrote about it has quit her vet tech job and the horrible memory of this never leaves her. America is about the ONLY country that declaws cats, it is banned in most countries, it is considered a felony with a year in prison and a $20,000 fine if anyone is caught declawing their cat OR dog. Dogs get declawed too, do a search, one dog got declawed because the owner did not like to hear the clicking of his nails on the tile flooring. Do your cat a BIG favor and get educated regarding declawing, your veterinarian will never tell you. They will not tell you about Soft Paws nail caps, or about sturdy scratching posts, or about how to train your cat. Other countries deal with it. They do not think highly of Americans who declaw their cats, I cannot repeat some of their comments in this commentary. The Paw Project is working on making declawing illegal and they educate the public regarding declawing. It is already illegal in seven CA cities, thanks to them. Landlords in some states cannot require tenants to declaw their cats, thanks to the Paw Project.

Ive had indoor cats my whole life and it didnt really seem to matter what veterinary office we attended. Maybe cats are easy or maybe they are not as much trouble. But when I got my first puppy, it was HELL finding the right care. Some veterinary doctors talked down to me like I didnt know what I was doing with my puppy breed (cane corso). Others had a bad experience with the breed and were negative even when she was only 2 months old - back then she was as cuddly and friendly as a kitten. It took some time and research to find Clevengers and IM SO GLAD that I did. They are the friendliest, nicest, most reasonable doctors I have ever met. Now I wont even take my cats to anybody else. They appreciate all breeds for who they are and how they are raised. They have always shown love and positive attention to my little Cane Corso. She recently came back to Clevengers for her 4th visit and a small rash. She was doted on like she was the Queen of Sheba. Assistants and Doctors alike just had to visit her to see how she had grown; furthermore, every single one of them gave her treats for various tricks. I kind of want to call up all the negative doctors I met before and tell them that if they were more positive and open minded then they might have a better experience.....but who knows. Perhaps its best to just use Clevengers and forget all the other doctors. I dont think it matters who you see, it is not one of those places where you must only see that one doctor. They all rock, assistants and doctors alike. I hope you enjoy your experience as much I have. Thank you Clevengers for all you do!

Having just moved into the area, my husband and I were looking for a new Vet for our two pups. I saw positive reviews for Clevengers Corner online and knowing how much harder it is to get positive reviews vs negative reviews, we made an appointment for our senior dog. My husband and I were so impressed by the quality of care we received we have decided to continue coming here for all of our veterinary needs. With a newly adopted 3rd dog, the monthly payment plan really helps us budget so our pets care is always paid for and keeps us on track with vaccinations, boosters and wellness visits. The staff I have met have all been friendly and seem happy to be at work. (how many of us can say that!) The office has never been overcrowded on any of our visits. We are usually brought into an exam room almost immediately. This is a big deal for me because waiting in a room full of other dogs and various other pets has always caused anxiety in myself and, consequently, my dogs. The two doctors we have seen so far have both been wonderful, not in a rush, and truly seemed to want to take time to get to know our furry family members and make them as comfortable as possible during their visit. We are very happy to have found Clevengers Corner and will be recommending them at every opportunity. Thank you, Clevengers Corner, for being a wonderful place to bring my furry family for all their healthcare needs!

I have been a client for over 5 years. My pets have received excellent medical care, referred when appropriate and have had options discussed. I have had several very sick pets and they all received quick and excellent care. Their new facility is top notch and the most advanced in the region. I have never been put off or made to feel as if my concerns where not important. They are accommodating and their fees are what is expected from that level of care. They followup on the sick pets and encourage you to call with any concerns. They refer to the pets by their names and even go out of their way to make the pet calm and comfortable. One instance the Veterinarian used Feliway to calm my cat and the cat relaxed and allowed the staff to examine him. That shows their compassion for the pet. Having had a pet since 1978, I have never had that kind of compassion shown to my pets. I highly recommend them not only for their great medical care but also their compassion.

I moved to the area five years ago and continued to take my dog back home to my previous veterinary clinic because I didnt think anyone could care for my dog like he could. Eventually, I needed to be able to get care for my dog quickly and not have to wait for a weekend when I was visiting family. I was told to try Clevengers Corner- I was a skeptic. I have now been going to them for a few years and they are great!! My dog has numerous skin/ear/eye issues and had to have a recent oral surgery. The team at Clevengers is always great. The facility is clean and up to date, the staff are professional. There are payment options and the hours are very broad! My dog is family and I only take him to the best places for care. Ive read some negative comments about pricing- remember you get what you pay for. If you cant afford to take care of a pet - dont buy them!!
