I came to uva looking for an answer to my problems with the abdominal pain and diarrhea that I have been having for 2 years. But sense I did not have insurance I felt like I was treated like some kind of animal and that the doctor did not really wont to send any more time than he had to. They only did as little as possible to diagnose me and get me out the door. I told him that I had tried antibiotics and it did not provide a fix to my problems. So when talking with the doc. he was able to find out that I had chickens on my farm and thin told me he thought that I had a parasite and with in 5 mins. I was released and given a another med that I had already taken before and did not help. So I am sill in the same shape and not fixed thanks for nothing and wasting my time and a unless 2 hr drive for nothing. The docs. name was David Burt MD. So word to the wise if you dont have insurance no mater were you go you will always be silently discriminated against.

Taking my wife to an appointment at primary care, I was amazed at the level of incompetence and utter indifference of the front line staff with whom we interacted. The hospital only gets two stars because I assume the doctors, nurses, and other staff beyond the gloomy front counters are better trained and more competent than the hourly staff. What a terrible experience! Its no wonder that everyone in Charlottesville says go to Martha Jefferson if you have any choice or control over your doctor.

In the face of end stage renal disease,fear, worry and stress are constant companions. Everyone at UVA hospital, especially the staff on 3West were amazing! They answered questions, made sure we had everything we needed and were professional while being friendly. No one enjoys staying at a hospital but if you have to UVA is the place to be!

Terrible experience. Had to park miles away, staff unpleasant and obviously didnt want to be there either. And they stopped taking Tricare ins? How can you not take the insurance provider for our military?

Where to begin...Overpriced, incompetent staff, and they were "testing" (selling) me on stuff I didnt need while I was passed out. 4 different bills totaling almost 10k, for a 1.5 hr. visit.

excellent staff and health care providers. They worry about their patients and provide them with the best care possible. My mom had her surgery here and I cant thank UVA hospital enough.
