Im writing this review on behalf of my father in-law who had eye surgery done with Dr. Josephson. Now let me start by telling you just how much of a skeptic my father in law is with "newfangled surgical technology" - he began to develop cataracts in both eyes. After doing some research and settling on Dr. Josephson, he insisted on only having one of his eyes done "just in case." Well Ill tell you, coming out of the experience he said that Dr. Josephson was incredible - my father being a tenured senior professor of electrical engineering for many decades needs to understand EXACTLY how things work and Dr. Josephson not only laid out how things work in great detail with the equipment, the surgery and the various types of lens replacements, he also walked him through all of the options he had on the table and the pros and cons of each. Once they settled on the perfect lens for my father in-law, they set a time for the surgery and it went as smoothly as is possible. Dr. Josephsons bedside manner was even better than his transparency and provision of information. Another funny story: Both dr. Josephson and myself are named John - well Dr. Josephson gave my father in-law a call following up after the surgery and was so genuine in concern for my father in-law (and apparently sounds much like me on the phone) that he thought it was me, and had a 15 minute conversation with Dr. Josephson before he realized it was his doctor. While he was incredibly embarrassed, he couldnt believe how genuinely interested Dr. Josephson was in his well being. The result of the surgery was incredible returning perfect, natural sight, enough that my father in law has gone back to night driving and the like with completely confidence and thats with just one eye! It goes without saying that the father in-law is planning on getting the other eye done the first chance he gets! In short, you wont find a better eye doctor/surgeon, not just in this area. Period.

Dr. Josephson is, in my opinion and based on my experiences as his patient, an outstanding Ophthalmologist who restored vision quality to me that I hadn’t had since I was a teenager, which includes the benefit of eliminating the need to wear glasses except for over the counter readers for close up work. Doctor Josephson performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes (the right in Oct. 2016 and the left in Nov. 2016) and restored 20/25 vision in my right eye (which had an off the chart level of astigmatism) and 20/20 in my left eye (which also had a very high level of astigmatism). In addition I am a very untypical patient in that I suffer from Amyloidsis which has caused swelling in my eyelids and I take medication for another illness which causes movement of my Iris. Both of these conditions make cataract surgery all that more difficult but Dr. Josephson executed these procedures flawlessly even though he admitted to me afterwards that I was one of his most challenging patients for the reasons I just outlined. Another point I want to make is that Doctor Josephson was the third Ophthalmologist I had dealt with. The first one said I was “above her pay grade” and the second didn’t think the lenses to correct my astigmatisms were “worth it”, but Dr. Josephson felt confident in treating me and in his ability to correct my astigmatisms. The bottom line is that I highly recommend Dr. Josephson to anyone in need of the services of a quality and caring Ophthalmologist. Trusting your eyes to someone takes a high level of confidence in your doctor and Dr. Josephson is most deserving of that trust.

I have been Dr. Josephsons patient for two years and just had my second cataract surgery, this time on the right eye. The left eye surgery, while successful, did not much improve my vision because of damage to my retina experience many years ago. A much different story with my right eye! Dr. Josephson recommended the new, revolutionary, albeit expensive Symfony lens, which mimics the function of a natural eye. My results: spectacular! Worth every dollar! Before surgery, I saw double images at a distance and had difficulty reading street signs and driving at night. No more! My wife had to suffer while I exclaimed across our family room that I could now read the news ticker moving across the bottom of our TV screen. No more glasses! I could not be more pleased. On top of that, Dr. Josephson is not just an excellent surgeon, but a very decent and nice guy! And, no, he did not compensate me for this review!!

We selected Dr. Josephsons practice based on the Yelp reviews and location. After an ER visit for an eye infection, the ER doctor told me to see an ophthalmologist within two days. We called several local practices but they could not fit us in. So we did our Yelp search, read Dr. Josephsons reviews and called his office. After explaining our situation to the office manager he called the Dr. to the phone and he spoke with us to gain an understanding of our situation. Then he fit us into his schedule the next day. Our office call was terrific. He diagnosed the condition, recommended a course of treatment and we will follow up with him in a couple weeks. Superb "bedside manner", a well run office and great care. We think weve found our new family ophthalmologist.

The staff was very warm and welcoming. I felt my medical problems were something that should not wait, and they got me right in. The office is very clean and pleasant. Dr. Josephson was kind. He found the problem that two other doctors had missed. He was clear in his explanation of the problem and immediately made a referral to the best suited ophthalmologist for my needs. I definitely will continue coming to him for my care. I found him by talking with another patient of his - a friend strongly recommended him as a compassionate and highly skilled surgeon. Now I can recommend him to you!

Dr. Josephson and his staff were professional and courteous on every visit. I went in experiencing consistent irritation in my eye, which were fairly quickly diagnosed as allergic reaction to contact use. Sadly, after nearly 30 years, my eyes were no longer tolerating contacts. My vision too poor and my cornea too thin for either PRK or Lasik, so I researched and choose my last surgical option, ICL. The lens insertion process was a bit scarier than the widely used Lasik, but the procedure and healing have gone absolutely textbook and Im at 20/20 now. Great experience with no regrets.

I highly recommend Dr. Josephson. I had an eye issue i was not sure about, and at the end of the working day, filled out his on-line form after looking on like for an eye specialist. To my surprise, i got a call from Dr. Josephson himself that evening to discuss the situation, and he had me in the office right away the next morning to take care of the situation. He then had me with a retina specialist that same day. The retina specialist had obvious respect for Dr. Josephson. If feel very fortunate to find a caring, competent doctor like Dr. Josephson.

Dr. Josephson is the BEST eye doctor I have ever had the experience of helping me. From glasses, to cataract surgery, to tri-focal lens, he was professional, exacting, and a perfectionist. His bedside manner and his explanation of what I would expect and what procedure would need to be done or could be done, choices I had...everything was well explained. If you are looking for the best, look no further. Just give him a call and get that appointment before his schedule is filled up!
