I came to NOVA Rehab in constant, severe pain (6-8) from a frozen shoulder that developed after a broken wrist. My left arm was almost completely immobile. In the first few sessions both pain and range of motion improved significantly, but after about 4 weeks, progress stalled and the pain increased. Vinod recommended I see Dr. Thomas Klein at Reston Hospital for a manipulation under anesthesia. That restored full range of motion, but caused severe inflammation and even more pain. The oxycodone prescribed by Dr. Klein stopped working after three days, and I cannot take NSAIDs. I wasn’t able to tolerate stretching and the shoulder froze up again. The turning point came when Vinod administered dexamethasone using an iontophoresis patch. The pain stopped, at least while the patch was on. After each application, the pain level decreased and the relief lasted longer. Once the pain was under control, I made rapid progress and I now have a pain-free, functional arm. I can’t say enough good things about the skill of the therapy assistant that worked with me, Chris Kirby-Smith. There is no way around the fact that physical therapy is painful, and it is hard to relax when you know something is going to hurt. But I learned that I could trust Chris and relax, and that made a huge difference in how far he was able to take each stretch. I am so grateful to Vinod and Chris for sticking with me through four grueling, frustrating months. They never stopped trying everything they could to resolve a really difficult case. They totally delivered on their promise: “Your pain stops here.”

Nova Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy & Sports “Nova Rehabilitation was recommended by Dr. Chawla to me and after I contacted Dr. Vinod Mathew for an appointment i was pleasantly surprised by his way of talking and kindness in his approach. During my first visit of explaining my neck pain he did a kind of miracle with his fingers and i left his clinc with no pain as i came in with a lot of pain. He asked me to come again in three days and did some physical therapy exercises and explained me how to do neck exercise at home or in office. He was very thorough in his explanation and took extra efforts by showing me how to do it correctly and after 4 visits he told me "you are good to go and come back if you ever need him again". So far so good and i am feeling better with no pain and i continue to monitor my sitting posture in office and i am regular with my neck exercises. My recommendation to all with some kind of Physical Therapy needs is to go to Nova Rehab and ask for Dr. Vinod Mathew.” Salil Chadha

I recently completed a physical therapy regiman for a pulled hamstring. i had tried resting it for 45 days before I finally went in for treatment. I waited so long primarily because of less than satisfactory previous experiences with physical therapy. Not so with NOVA Rehabilitation. After an an extensive and thoughtful rehabilitation program I am back to my full exercise program. Vinod Mathew was thorough and attentive in his approach. He mixed traditional and non traditional approaches in response to what he found from treatment to treatment. I never felt as if I was participating in a by the numbers pre-determined plan and found Vinod to be extremely responsive to my input. I dont recommend a pulled hanstring muscle to anyone, but if it (or somethin similar) happens, i highly recommend NOVA Rehabilitation.

NOVA Rehab is the best of everything. Because of the philosophy of caring for the WHOLE person, not just the part, encouragement and support from the therapists here is beyond compare from any other PT facility Ive used. This is NOT factory run-though-the-program PT. This is personal care. I believe that if it were not for Vinod Mathew and his folks at NOVA Rehab, I would never have been able to return to my career following an auto-accident two years ago. He gave me hope. I am learning to love these two words because of the improvement that I have seen since starting my journey with Vinod and Anusha.
