Been going there for a couple of years, but am switching practices now. Its usually a bad experience there. From the little things that are annoying (they dont do reminder calls when youre due for a physical and the good Dr is booked out several months) to the important things. Last year, I called the ofc b/c I was having an allergic reaction to antibiotics they prescribed me. I tried to convey the urgency of the issue to the nurse and called back every 4 hours for 2 days before I finally got through to a Dr. My Dr. was off that day and despite the urgency, they just stuck a note in her mailbox to wait for her to be back in and call me back. Today, I got a call saying that my urine showed bacteria and the Dr. knew I was pregnant and prescribed me an antibiotic. The thing is, Im not pregnant, Im nursing, something the Dr. knew very well when I was in the office. I told the lady on the phone that I wasnt pregnant but I was nursing and she said it didnt matter to take the drug. I talked to the pharmacist and he wasnt sure. Then he called me back after doing research and said it was absolutely NOT SAFE to take this drug Dr. Ria prescribed while nursing. --- UPDATE --- I spoke to Dr. Ria on the phone and she was extremely defensive and unprofessional. She stated that even though the pharmacist, a Teledoc, and my OB/GYN all said not to take the antibiotic, that it was totally safe and she took it two times while she was pregnant. Which is wonderful but the fact remains that I am still not pregnant. She then said the reason she prescribed that and not Amox. is b/c the first antibiotic is what killed the bacteria in the culture and the amox didnt. So I had my lab sent to my OB/GYN for review and they just confirmed that Amox was effective to treat the bacteria I had. Then Dr. Ria told me the reason she didnt prescribe the Amox is b/c I am allergic to Keflex. Dr. Patel told me when I had the reaction to Keflex that everyone who is allergic to Amox is also allergic to Keflex, but it is possible to be fine w/ Amox and be allergic to Keflex. Dr. Ria. said no its not and she said she was going to take my allergy to Keflex out of the system since I was fine w/ Amox.

After I waited 30 minutes in the waiting room. After I than waited in the DRS room for 45 minutes. I FINALLY got to see the DR. I then had to wait 25 minutes till my throat culture came back. I was told it was going to be only 6 minutes. I was lectured on what a sinus infection was.... Instead of being treated and having good bed side manor DR. just told me how it is. She talked to me like I was an adolescent child who stated up past my bedtime. She saw that I worked for a construction company and thought she compared my infection to a CLOGGED SEWAR PIPE WITH WAIST BACKED UP........... I didnt tell her that I too practiced medicine for over 7 years, because I though it would be funny to keep letting her embarrass herself. ( highlight of my day ) I went home with a prescription for antibiotics. She was going to give me Z-pack I explained that my body would not even feel it. She gave me something stronger for 5 days. I called today again to inform her; her treatment did not work. I am on hold for 20 minutes than i leave my name and number cause Im tired of waiting. I received a nasty voicemail about calling them back like i did something wrong calling for help. I DO of course cause Im still sick. I am assured that someone or DR. would get back to me....... NOTHING I am sitting here still sick in pain because of your malpractice. She and the staff that I have seen do not care about YOU or ANY of your problems. Coming here is a waist of your time, money, and may leave your child or YOU EVEN SICKER since she cant be bothered calling a patient back. AN EMAIL,TEXT anything??? My temperature has risen and I am getting cold sweats..... I am telling you this because I do NOT want to see anyone else go through this like I am..... Update: The on call Emergency DR just called me back and told me that the DR that saw me in the south riding office does not work at their practice then the DR presided to hang up on me.... I looked up using my perception bottle and their page with names and faces. Obviously this DR. is incompetent and needs to NOT be the on call DR.

I came here as part of my companys wellness program. Completing a physical for the year along with an affidavit packet would save me xx% off of next years insurance premium. All the doctor had to do was fill out her portion of the form, sign it, and fax it. There was an instruction paper along with the packet. It provided every step. So I went, got my physical, had my blood drawn, and waited a day for the test results. I was assured the packet would be finished and faxed. I checked back after I had signed up for next years benefits a few months later and discovered I was being charged more. And that I was listed as a smoker (by default) which wouldnt have happened if they had faxed the form. They never sent it. This was TIME-CRITICAL. I had a due date for this and it had passed. I called, they found the packet, and I instructed them to fax it to a specific number so that my companys side could fix it. They assured me again that it would be faxed properly. Guess what? It wasnt. I received a notice in the mail that my benefits were again listing the same higher rate and smoker option. I was furious. I called again and they said they lost the form. Seriously?? My personal, medical, and employee information is on that packet and they lost it. Fantastic. I was asked to bring in a blank form for them to fill out. I instructed them to fill the date out to replicate the original. The doctor signed and dated it and I was given the packet back. When I asked if they faxed it, the nurse told me she forgot. Yet again dropping the ball had I not checked. They faxed it and thats when I noticed the date was wrong. They dated it December. So now its on the good graces of my companys benefits staff to make this right and cut me slack for this practices lack of professionalism. Thanks, Novant.

The physicians are great, but the office staff can be quite rude. Sitting in the waiting room, on multiple occasions I have seen the front desk staff needlessly short with patients in front of them, as well as talking bad about patients once theyve left the room or hung up the phone. The instances I saw involved patience who were behaving quite reasonably, but simply didnt understand what was being asked of them. As soon as they left, the women at the front desk began making fun of the patient. The front desk is situated in such a way that the entire waiting room can hear conversations at the desk.

The doctors always seem so rushed. Dr Ria took a look at me, mumbled the diagnosis under her breath, said she was prescribing a medication and was ready to walk out. All in under 2-3 minutes. She did not tell me what the diagnosis meant, what the cause is or what precautions I can take. Nothing! When I asked her a few questions about the medication and the diagnosis, she did not care to explain, instead said "I would just take it if I were you." I have never left any doctors office feeling worse than when I walked in. Im definitely on the lookout for a new practitioner.
