I needed glasses.....and was looking around for a place in Chesapeake....close to work and home. Modern eyes was an easy one hour trip....round trip from where I live. But my Wife was sold on them.....she had gotten a referral from a friend......and said that she loved her glasses.....they were perfect. I could have gone to one of two places near me....about two blocks away.....but based upon her opinion......I made the drive to see Modern Eyes. I went in for my appointment after the first of the year.....and I have to say I was very impressed with their staff.....and the professionalism at Modern Eyes. I got my prescription filled....and received my glasses within two weeks. I wore them for a month. I could certainly see very well with them.....but I couldnt brag like my wife.....about how perfect they were. They were ok.....pretty good......but not perfect. There were some things that I just couldnt get them to do for me.....at work. I asked her again if her glasses were really perfect.....and she said they were. I told her that mine were not.....but they were pretty good. She told me to call them and let them know....they would make it right. I called and made another appointment (no charge) and they checked the lenses......they made some adjustments......and ordered another set of lenses for me (no charge). The new lenses arrived about two weeks later.....and I was told it would take about 20 minutes to trim them to fit my frames. 20 minutes later I was told that they could not make them to fit the frames.....the lenses that arrived were smaller in one dimension then my frames. They asked me if I could give up my glasses so that they could send off the frames to have them sized to fit at the factory......and I told them no. I cant see without them.....I have no back up pair.....and if I drove home without them I would probably end up doing something rude to a dump truck or some other large vehicle on the road. Their solution....which I liked a lot.....was to order another set of my frames to be shipped to the factory......and have my new lenses installed into them there......and I could just walk in a swap them out when they arrived. That would be three weeks. Only two weeks later I received a text saying that my new glasses were in......so I made the trip. I picked them up and told them I would let them know if we were good to go.....after I wore them for a month. It took me about a week to realize that they were perfect......Now I could make the same claim as my wife. My eyes are difficult.....and I can appreciate the effort that they put into making my glasses.....and my experience ....Perfect. It was worth the hour round trip to visit them.......and I will see them every year for a checkup from this point on. They are good people....who care. Ken Curry

I found Dr. Pham because I was frustrated at another optometrist who I felt didnt actually listen to my concerns about my vision. She is exactly what I was looking for. Dr. Pham works SO hard to get you the best possible prescription. She is tireless and undaunted in continuing on until you have the best prescription and product. Their selection of frames is broad and their lens price is very competitive, significantly less for the same product I have considered elsewhere. HIghly recommended.

I have been with Modern Eyes Optometry since they opened there doors. Customer Service is outstanding! In addition, Dr. Pham noted a new onset retinal detachment on me about five years ago when I stopped in for a quick exam. I was noting something wasnt quite right with my vision. She was quick to get me the treatment I needed, which resulted in a referral to a retinal specialist and ultimately surgery. They are absolutely the best

This is a great office. One of the best that i have ever been to . Also got them to carry the Gunnar glasses and they are the best if you are in a office and in front of a computer all day. They are the only ones down here that carry them and also the RX versions. Could not be happier . Very friendly and have state of the art machines for testing .
