In my opinion you have 2 types of parents. The first type feels hospital and medical staff know whats best for your child and you dont question their opinion. The 2nd type are those parents that want to have a say and make decisions on the care their child receives. If you are in that first group you will love Valley Health. They are your childs parent while at the hospital. If you are in the second group here is our horror story. Keep in mind while reading, we are 2 college educated professionals with 2 straight A children at home. Our newborn was born at term and had a little fluid in the lungs, nothing that most probably wouldnt consider normal or that most likely would have taken care of itself. Yet, Valley Health swooped him away from his mother arms and off to the NICU. They pushed and pushed to give the baby formula even though his mother was perfectly able to breast feed. They administered medications that were not necessary and that we declined. The newborns feet (yes, both) looked like he had been walking on glass from all of the times they drew blood. They jammed an IV in his forehead even though the one on his foot was perfectly fine. They continued to keep our newborn in the NICU when the ONLY issue was a little bit of jaundice. Jaundice directly caused by the actions, policies and procedures of Valley Health doctors & nurses. On day 4, we told the hospital we wished to leave against their medical advice (AMA) because they would not discharge us. We contacted OUR pediatrician who said his Jaundice level could be managed at home. When we mentioned we wished to leave AMA, the first thing out of their mouth was "well, you know insurance may not cover your newborns hospital stay if you leave AMA". Really? Thats what this is about? Money? Even though we had the opinion of our Pediatrician that it was okay to take our baby home, the Valley Health unsocial worker, Jennifer Winslow called Sabrina Schaeffer at Child Protection Services and filed a complaint against us and threatened my wife with removing the child from our custody. They essentially took the opinion of one poor Valley Health doctor, Dr. Lee and used that to file a complaint against us. Dr. Lee walked in the room at one point and told my wife, "you know, I could have the baby taken away if I wanted to but Im not going to do that." You sir are a big POS for telling any mother something like that. I wish nothing but ill will against these 3 individuals for the unnecessary stress they caused my wife and child. These are very evil people with malevolent intentions, truly disgusting and have no business representing children. Within 24hrs of being home in a stress free environment, our newborns Jaundice level was normal...imagine that! After the first visit with our pediatrician, 4 days after leaving WMC, our newborn has gained 10oz and he is perfectly healthy. As parents, If you are seeking minimal medical intrusion and want to spend time with your newborn I would suggest not giving birth at WMC. If you do decide to use Valley Health just remember THEY know whats best for your child, not you. THEY are the parents, not you. The Valley Health NICU doctors, nurses and unsocial worker are advocates for Valley Health, NOT mothers and children. Valley Health is a disaster and even though its an inconvenience, we will begin driving elsewhere for medical care because our children matter more than your $$$$.

I drove from home this morning to work on a collapsed lung probably from smoking... I left work to go get checked out at the nearest hospital. I drove to the wrong side and ended up on the visitors area.. I told the ladies there that I needed to see a doctor I had chest pain. I refused the wheelchair and told her I could walk on the way over to the (ER). She followed me all the way down the hallway till I reached the the emergency room. It was unexpected but Im glad she did! The nurse that brought me back for a check on my heart rate must had known what she was doing cause she noticed that my heart rate wasnt normal.. The woman that did the x-rays on my chest insisted that I used the wheelchair! The male that did the IV found my vain in one try! Thereally were other young beautiful nurses there that wasnt afraid to tell me the had wanted more experience cause they never seen sergey on a collapsed lung before.... The doctors was extremely calm and I could tell they had years of wisdom in hands on medical.. Dam! One of the nurse asked me if I wanted to hold her beautiful little hand, but I refused to, I didnt want to squeeze it to hard when he put the needle in.. Anyways they let me go home as I wanted too! And I love them all! They are very nice people and Im sure I could understand if I ever had to go in their and wait to get seen for something miner. THANK YOU SO MUCH! And I had to leave this, review for everyone else! All! The nurses was very attractive and amazingly kind... I felt like staying they night(!)....

worst hospital out there they treated my disabled wife so bad and had her in tears we were there last night because she was having pain and been late on her monthly and the doctor asked her if she could be pregnant and she said yes because she had a tubal reversal done in North Carolina and he said so you all trying to get pregnant and we said yes and on top of that he came back in great news your not pregnant and if you were i would be concern because of your disability and she said you offended me and asked for a top person are patient case worker and was refused the right and said he calling security when they showed up she explained everything to them and they said yes she has that right and yes they will take her to proper person this has been mulitple times my wife been treated this way at this hospital but it gives no right to treat someone with a disability different and discrimination toward someone who has a disability and because there different the hospital doing nothing about it or ceo so Im taking this to the civil rights after this

I went into the hospital for panic attacks. When I explained why I was there to the nurse she said that they would be able to help me. When I met with the doctor, he refused to help because I needed a refill of my medication but he wouldnt help me because it was in my system?! I went there because it was the weekend, someone stole my prescription and couldnt see my usual Doctor. They kept trying to get me to leave but I couldnt move since my breathing was so shallow from the numerous panic attacks. They stuck a strong smelling rag up to my face, pushed on my chest and nail? They also kept threatening to stick a tube down my throat. The nurse kept laughing in the background, saying I was faking and treated me like a joke. I was humiliated and put on display. Then they called the cops for trespassing when I couldnt move and didnt have a ride. Ive never met more vengeful people in my life and they were doctors!! It was a nightmare. I wont go there again even for the worst emergency!!
