My initial dealings with this animal care facility were more than acceptable but as time went on things deteriorated greatly. The price for boarding was reasonable and the grooming was acceptable. However that was quick to change. The first incident involved having my dogs teeth cleaned - we were given a 400 dollar price quote. We decided to have this done - we were then presented with a 749 dollar bill. The manager did call me about this and refunded 200 of the amount. The overcharge was completely their fault they said that they believed our dog was young and not a senior - hes 9 - and he does look very young - but this didnt wash since they had given him his shots and a complete examination on the day the quote was made. That was handled relatively well. BUT what happened over the Thanksgiving holidays is JUST REPREHENSIBLE!!!!!! We had been having to take our schnauzer in to have him cut every other month and previously he only had to go every 4 months at most. I noted that the groomer had been lightly trimming his upper areas and of course they grew in very quickly. The groomer had also been cutting his beard - the first time out she cut off an inch of my dogs beautiful senior schauazer beard growth of 9 years!!!!! I was not happy but let them know that I did not want his beard cut at all. The next time they did it again. BUT yesterday was the worst - before we left him for the holidays for board and groom we went in and talked to the groomer in person. She was rude and did not want to talk to us - we noted the problems we were having and she didnt even acknowledge and walked off without saying A WORD!!!! RUDE!!!!! We thought we had gotten thru to her, but yesterday when we picked him up he was presented to us COMPLETELY SHAVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND HIS BEARD COMPLETELY REMOVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say we were not happy and of course they had already charged my card for the charges and conveniently the nurse at the front didnt know how to refund - HMMMMM wonder what they do when they ring up something wrong by accident????? At any rate she called and left a message with the same manager that helped us before. As of today i have not been given a phone call whatsoever. I very much warn you that this place is out for profit motivation rather than animal and customer care. BEWARE!!!!!

These people will take you for a financial ride if you let them--$5 to toss a cup of cat pee??? Uh, thanks, I will take it to the bathroom myself pour and flush and not pay $5 to do it. Then God, they said the kitty in my photo had "Grade II Kidney Disease" making it sound horrible? He was dehydrated, so thanks for scaring me. Fortunately they couldnt do anything other than insist both my cats be on 4mg a day of Prozac (from being there) which required it to be compounded. When I got the price--on PROZAC which you can get for $4 at WalMart Pharmacy-which wouldve lasted over 90 days for BOTH cats tog (we have dogs next door that cause anxiety periodically-I take the preventative approach. Over priced. I was appalled at the total estimate, and packed up the kitties and went back to the old vet, though much further, far more friendly, honest and economical.

We thought we were going to have to put our 17 year old cat down. It was a decision that was really difficult for us to have to make. This clinic lacked compassion or understanding. Made my husband feel like a murderer, as he is crying, trying to decide if this is the right thing to do. If you work at a vet, I am sure you are people who kill animals bc they are tired of them, probably see others who have to decide between paying bills & saving their animals life, and others who have just come to the end of the line with their animal. My point is, you are not judge & jury. You have no idea what the circumstance is, so keep your crass & condenscending tone & behavior for break time. Completely inappropriate. If this job is too difficult, do something else.

Excellent care from caring doctors! I have nothing but good things to say about this hospital. I recently moved to the area and needed to find a vet. I have now taken my pets to VCA Silver Lake a few times and interacted with many of the folks who work there. The staff has always been friendly and courteous, and I believe the doctors truly care about the well being of my pets. They have always been honest about treatment options, explaining why a treatment is necessary or simply recommended. After a few visits, I truly feel like a valued customer. If you love your pets as much as I do, then I would highly recommend taking them to VCA Silver Lake.

I had a voucher and this was the closest clinic on the list. I felt judged as soon as their lead tech walked in the room. She stated in a. Very snotty way how I have a family...saying " oh look at the family...look at the family in here....and with a small dog...you know small dogs dont like children" My dog gets along just fine with my 3 children. She kept giving me a disapproving look the whole time. Then I got the bill for 450 saying I need everything under the sun. The doctor was nice but I dont think they were really concerned just there to bill. Going elsewhere for my new dogs clinic.

The techs act like they dont want to be there. $450 later and they STILL DONT KNOW WHATS WRONG. Vet stated she wanted a fecal sample and that there would be no charge for it. I went by today to drop it off and they stated it was going to be $71 and tried to give me an excuse why they all of a sudden wanted to charge for it. I dont think so. My aunts vet literally 3 miles away charges HALF the price for the same services and the staff acts like they want to be there. Will NOT be going back period. Thanks for nothing but lost time and money.

What a wonderful place! After my cat was seriously injured by a car I searched everywhere within 20 miles of my home for a vet who would allow me to make payments. Even a couple vets I took him to saw how bad his condition was and still wouldnt even examin him without money up front. I found VCA and the Doctor wasnt even concerned about money her top priority was getting my cat treated as quickly as possible. They allowed me to make payments. They truly showed compassion for my cat and even for me too! I highly reccommend them!

Staff was decent, but bill was way too expensive. They could tell I was worried about my cat and the took the opportunity to get as much money as they could. My cat was only moderately sick, and i had to wait so long to get an appointment that she was actually starting to get better. They still insisted on doing every test in the book, giving iv fluids, etc... Completely unnecessary. Using an emotional time to leverage money out of people is morally wrong.
