DO NOT EVER COME TO THIS HOSPITAL! As someone who has worked at the hospital, I strongly recommend never coming to SJMC. The staff is horrible, the medical care is terrible, and each department has no idea of what is going on. To start off, the ER department is a nightmare. Unless you are severely bleeding or in labor, good luck being seen by anyone in under 2 hours. The only reason youll be seen fast if youre bleeding is because the dont want to clean blood of the ground. There was massive blood stain outside the ER for several hours that was never taken care of by their environmental services because its a biohazard. The damn valets ended up cleaning the blood up. I have literally been asked by doctors on how to get back to their own offices in the hospital. I just dont understand how a doctor can get lost in their own hospital on the main floor. Back the to the ER staff. The ER staff almost never will assist people getting into the ER and will refuse to look or give people a wheelchair. These nurses actually hide wheelchairs so only they can use them when they need to. I have witnessed a nurse push a man in a hospital wheelchair that was seeking medical treatment outside the ER department into the parking lot, into the sun in the middle of the afternoon in July because he was moaning in pain and they didnt want to listen to him. The man couldnt walk or move himself in the wheelchair. He sat there for over an hour moaning in pain in the hot sun where a nurse had left him. Thats abuse and negligence. I have watched people screaming in agony trying to get into the ER as nurse walk by during shift change. I could go on and on. The rest of the doctors and nurses are incompetent. My friends dad passed away in this hospital and while he was on life support for 5 days they were told a different thing every two hours, ranging from hes going to be fine and be waking up tomorrow to he will probably die within the next hour, they were told stuff like this everyday for 5 days. They have a security guard that has had multiple sexual assault complaints from many different other employees and yet he still works there. They are told " well thats just how he is and youre gonna have to deal with it"...... thats right, just deal with being sexually and verbally assulted. They only good part of the hospital is the valet and they are a contract company, they know the hospital better than most of the actual employees. Ive witnessed a valet drop everything and help a man in a electrical wheelchair apply pressure to a bleeding wound ( kid even put gloves on, had another valet call a code to get the rapid response team to come down) in the middle of the lobby while all the other staff walked by. 6/5 for the valet. The rest of the hospital is garbage and you should never come unless youve been shot directly out front but even then it may be worth walking down the road a mile and a half to Tacoma General to seek medical treatment. Never come to Saint Joes hospital. 0/5

They stole from me!!!! I was admitted into the ER. I was helicoptered in to the ER. I was treated, and security took almost all of my belongings from my purse and sealed them in plastic bags. They took my wallet, even though I told them I didnt want them too. They opened it up and counted my cash in front of me. I had $238.50 in my wallet. I was told that it would be put in a secure locked space. They gave me a piece of paper confirming that my wallet had $238.50 in it. I checked out the next afternoon, and I went to the place that I was told to go to retrieve my belongings. I was first given my wallet, I opened it up and all my cash was gone. Security was called. Someone created 2 false documents. One claiming that my wallet had no money in it when I checked in. The other claiming that My wallet was returned to me at 1:00a.m. I was sleeping and that was not true. I had to call security and after dealing with them for two hours, and them realizing that the fake documents were in fact fake and had none of my signatures on them, which would be required if I received something. They realized that I was telling the truth. They had an eye witness who told them that she gave me my wallet in a security sealed bag, and saw me open it and that there was no cash in my wallet. They also have surveillance video and this is all documented. The security staff told me that the hospital was in fact liable for the $238.50 and had to reimburse me. I simply can not think of anything more reprehensible than stealing from someone who was in the ER in a desperate situation. as if that isnt scary enough. I am utterly disgusted by this hospital and am beginning to lose faith in humanity. The fact that they call themselves SAINT. Josephs hospital, yet allow people to steal from someone in a vulnerable position, is beyond disgusting to me. I still have not received my money or an apology. The theif had access to my drivers license which means he or she knows where I live. I feel incredibly unsafe and so violated.

I really do appreciate your help that you ST. Joseph done for me and dont think of all of you are all that bad. I appreciate my doctors I had. I felt bad for my mom though she had a doctor with you guys that made her cry and feel bad. There was two incidents that happened to me when I went to the Therapy appointments there at ST. Joseph, Tacoma. I was treated bad by a few Therapists there and they were two women therapist and when I get their names I will put down on paper. One shamed me out in front of everybody, and they all were not even professional in there because they all laughed at me. The only one that treated me good was Laurie and she had respect for me and treated me like a person. Those other two therapist made me feel like I was a nobody. The other therapists just yelled at me. At the time I felt like I had to take it from them just to get the help I needed. This happened last December. I told myself this and I promised on my dads grave And my brothers grave I will never go back to that therapy place at ST. Joseph Hospital again. Also another therapist my mom seen there at ST. Joseph, Tacoma. well he over stretched her arm like in a rough way. Why do that? that is CRAZY!!! So my mom also will never go back to those Therapists at ST. Joseph either. Also my mom seen a doctor with you guys and she was never treated good by him. he was really ignorant to her, and he treated her rude and he humiliated her. I told her the hell with him!!! there is other doctors. I am mad because he made her cry a lot of times!!!. I pray to God and Jesus that all it goes back on him. I put him in Jesus and Gods hands. God he sees everything if we are mistreated. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit .AMEN.
