AAHA accredited unlike most in Kanawha Valley. 3 yrs ago the ONLY Veterinarian I called that were aware and willing, to inoculate my teeny dog with Lepto seperately from the 5/6/7/8-in-one(!) shots that are NO LONGER NECCESARY ea. yr. After the boosters and one year rabies, one only needs to inoculate every 3yrs. With exception toward Lepto, Lyme, and a few particular to the area(s) in which you live. WV is a State that Leptosporosis "flare ups" are likely to occur. My dog(s) are inoculated each year at her/his annual exam. I have witnesses dogs recovering from Lyme looking emaciated and part crippled from the infection. Oh my! She is also inoculated for Lyme. No way will my Lil girl be in that predicament. Dont forget having Animal Care Associates check for heartworm; and provide year round protection! ACA will remind you and ask if youd like to have the test performed, but ya haveta go to be reminded! Mosquitos hatch throughout the winter here, it isnt cold enough to kill them off until spring. I suggest heartworm medication/prevention year round. Ive witnessed treatment of an infected dog. It was horrible! I watch a robust, protective GSD, bada*s, "go down" with eyes rolling up as the toxin; to kill the heartworm infection, was injected into him every 12 hrs for I believe 3 days. Timber was lucky, he survived, many may not(!), especially if you skip the vet until something goes wrong. Im horrified by some who, when asked what happened, answer with,"I dunno why she died, its a dog" or "maybe he ate something bad" or "he was 7 and old". None of this needs to happen! Take your pets here and theyll be glad to keep your pet from the "I dunnos" to the best of their ability. Prevention is key! Remember, as I said above...... AAHA accredited AND of the many I called, the only one in the valley to have the Leptosporosis inoculation individually. I feel better getting this off my chest and out to you West Virginians, my home sweet home. ......

If I could give Animal Care 10 stars I would! We have been clients there for 30 years with many pets--dogs, rabbits, rats.We have gotten nothing but the best of care from the wonderful staff. Dr Webster treated my rabbits back in the day when they were considered "exotic animals" and not too many local vets knew much about them. I adore Dr Beth Tackett! She immediately diagnosed my Johnny with distemper when another vet was calling it anything but that, and Animal Care saved his life. Johnny loves to go visit her and all his friends there. Their hospital is AAHA accredited and is super clean and modern. They are perhaps a little more expensive than some other area vets but they are up on all the latest technology and standards of care. I will never go anyplace else and I very highly recommend Animal Care Associates to any animal owner, no matter what kind of animal you have.

We met Dr Patton in 2013 when we had to put down our 17 year old cat. We lost our cat early because of negligent care with another animal hospital. They didnt take the time or seem to care he was in renal failure. They explained as allergies. As a last ditch attemp, we took him to Dr Patton who immediately knew what was wrong. Oh how I wished Felix had been in a Dr Pattons care, we may have had him longer. My remaining cat has been with Dr Patton since then. I would not trust his care to anyone else. I feel Dr Patton sincerely cares about his patients. Ive also gotten him two other patients as a result. We think the world of Animal Care Associates and everyone there from Dr Patton to the assistants and office staff. Keep up the good work!!!

This is by FAR the best vet service Ive ever experienced. Wed never even been there before when our bulldog got extremely ill very quickly, and the receptionist told me to come on in, theyd make space. Not only did they make SPACE, the vet (Dr. Melissa Andritz, a Cornell graduate!) and her tech Jennifer did literally everything they could think of to help our pup, took hours out of their very busy day to pay special attention to us, and the cost was quite reasonable for all the work they did. I wont go anywhere else again, period. I HIGHLY recommend this place, the staff and the vets to anyone in the area. We live 35 minutes away and will always bring our animals to Dr. Andritz! Youd be hard pressed to find better care within 100 miles.

Animal Care Associates is an exceptional practice. We have been pleased with all the doctors (two of which have performed surgery on our dogs). I appreciate that the doctors and staff end the visit by asking if you have any questions. I also greatly appreciate receiving a phone call or text after a surgery or procedure is done as I tend to get anxious and hope everything is going well. I have two labs that I entrust to the care of Animal Care Associates and theres a reason for that. My dogs love going to the vet and I credit that to the love and attention they receive every time they go. I want only the best care for my dogs and thats what they get at Animal Care Associates.

Recommended by a friend and well worth the little extra drive. My dog has some special needs and this place was very helpful in continuing her treatment after we had moved from another state/vet. To that lady below complaining about not getting in on a saturday: thats what appointments are. Make one and youll get in. That said, ACA does try their best to get you in as soon as possible and have been fairly flexible with my work schedule. The most impressive thing is all the vets and techs actually get on the floor to try and put my dog at ease, who is always terrified going to the doctor and on her last visit actually did much better. Everyone Ive talked to is extremely nice.

We had to have our baby put to sleep on February 10th and I have to say Doctor Webster is just exceptional. I have been taking my animals there for approximately 9 years now and he is the absolute best. He made the process easier and allowed us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our Barney. He treats every animal special no matter if theyre having surgery or just a routine check up. He is truly a blessing. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my babies. We are very lucky to have found animal care associates.

I have been going to Animal Care for around five years now. I have never had a bad experience with them. The hospital is very clean, the staff is always kind and courteous and will assist you in any way they can. They take the time needed to evaluate and treat your pet. They always inform you what the issues are and what treatment is recommended and treat you and your pet with the upmost respect. I would, and have, highly recommend them to anybody.

I have taken my pets to Animal Care Associates for years and Dr. Patton is a wonderful, caring vet and person. He always gives the time and attention to my babies that I feel they need. My youngest kitty just broke his leg in three places and Dr. Tackett stepped up and worked him into her schedule and did a great job. I recommend Animal Care Associates to anyone who wants the best for their pets. They are truly a 5 Star clinic.
