So I recently had to take my cat here for an emergency and I was kinda mad when I first arrived. My cat had four lacerations and to me was hurt really badly being he broke a window and got all cut up. So when I walked into the emergency side the receptionist didnt pay any mind to me at all. She carried on her conversation with another patients owner. At first didnt see a problem being she could of been going over important information with her but I over heard and they were just gossiping. Which I think its wrong that I stood there waiting as my cat is still in pain and I have no clue the severity of his wounds and they dont even acknowledge the fact that Im there. This was an emergency place when someone comes in you should be tended to immediately especially if there is no one else there but instead you continued on your conversation. That was very off putting. After getting checked in they brought him to the back to be looked at which I was immediately concerned because I wasnt allowed back with him but the doctor came out and explained what was going on with him. Then I had to wait for a quote and when I saw the cost I immediately was shocked. Very expensive and they make you pay the high end cost of what it could come out to be before they even finish treatment. They also wanted all the money up front no payment plans the only option was care credit which I dont qualify for. Also I was going to have to surrender him because the administer medicine right away which if you didnt know thats pretty expensive so basically your baby is stuck there if you have no money. Once he was in there I wouldnt have been able to take him out to try someone more affordable so I payed and did what I had to do. They said if it was any less they would refund the money but still why not wait till after. I dont know how the staff treats your pet based on the fact that I never was able to be in the room with my cat. Even when removing the sutures I wasnt allowed back with him. They doctor didnt even come out to talk to me. I had questions that never got answered also what to look out for if he was to pick at his wounds. On the plus side its nice that theyre 24/7 and the staff is very friendly. The office itself was very clean and comforting. They sell a lot of good things for pets there. If needed I would come back but only for an emergency visit only if they were the last option and no one else was open

If you do not care about your pets well being please bring them here! My American bully was brought here last Sunday around 9:45 am by my puppy sitter ( she had 10 day old puppies ) because she wasnt acting normal. After communicating with staff via phone while I was on my way they informed me that my dog had eclampsia and possibly mastitis, I instructed them to do whatever they needed to do in order to get her better. Upon arriving two hours later when I went in to visit with my dog I immediately noticed one of her mammary glands was significantly larger than the others. Since no one brought this to my attention I inspected it myself - it was hot, red, firm and puss was coming out. Clearly mastitis. I had to request to speak with the vet as she didnt willingly come in to speak with me. My dog stayed at this facility over night ( 24 hours ) she was discharged Monday around two pm and my sitter picked her up where they advised the sitter that the dog did not have mastitis, that she had eclampsia and a gi upset but advised for pups to be weaned off of her and sent antibiotics as well as other meds. When I picked her up the gland was somewhat normal however the following day was swelling again. When I contact the facility to receive some clarification they stated that it must have been a miscommunication ( which should not happen in the medical field ) and when I advised the meds werent helping they offered to send a prescription for a pain reliever (not a new antibiotic). By Wednesday the gland was bruising from pressure and extremely uncomfortable for my dog so I took her to a local vet who prescribed new antibiotics and an anti inflammatory. Thursday morning her gland completely ruptured and there is a huge gaping hole in her front right mammary gland where the infection forced its way out. All of which could have been avoided if fixed correctly the first time or even when I contact this vet to advise them the meds were not working. This vet did not do their job and completely disregarded what I was telling them numerous times in regards to the mastitis. I could have lost my dog due to their negligence and will make sure everyone is aware of their neglect.

Bellas story is a long one, but it is definitely worth reading. Bella, an eleven month old puppy was found at the end of a dirt road with a fractured hip, unable to walk. Her story was shared on facebook and a kind woman took her to Veterinary Healthcare Associates late at night. The woman was told that for $81 she could take Bella home and have her seen by a regular vet. Shortly after this was said, the coordinator of the hospital told the woman that he did not feel right letting her go in her condition. He then said that she needed surgery and that the owners were contacted and did not want Bella. I, having been following her story, decided to step up and help. The woman was told that the surgery fees would be covered and that I could adopt Bella for $121. The next day I was told that the surgery would cost me $2,500 or Bella would be euthanized. I immediately created a go fund me page and asked for donations on fb. Bellas surgery was postponed time after time, leaving her sitting there this way for two weeks. I finally decided to take her elsewhere. Her surgery and aftercare treatment was done somewhere else for under $900. Upon hearing that I was taking her elsewhere, the cooridinator of VHA called me and made me feel horrible for doing so. I then spoke to the owner of VHA, who did nothing but deny my claims. They charged me almost $400 for letting Bella sit there in horrible condition for almost two weeks. This is only a fraction of my negative experience, but I wanted to make sure Bellas story was heard. I will NEVER take any of my pets to this place again, nor will I ever recommend anyone else do so. I would give this place NEGATIVE ten stars!

I had rescued an abandoned, whose owners had poured motor oil on her skin and left her tied to a stake. Luckily, I visited my nephew who was the neighbor of the person who had done this. I bathed Meyer, which was her name, fed her, watered her, and turned her loose. She never left the yard, she was waiting for her owner to return. I did this from June-September of this year. Finally I could not afford the 28 mile round trip visit. The humane society refused to take her because of her skin condition. Dr. OSullivan at VHA took one look at her and said she ws salvagable! When I handed over the leash, Meyer was talking to me, " WOOF WOOF WOOF" and I, of course was crying. She was thanking me, and I knew it. I had refused to take her to the dog pound, and as I said, the Humane Society refused to take this beautiful black lab. I continuued to go to the office and walk her to the dog park. Ultimately her hair had grown back, the "mange" turned out to be a skin allergy, and she needed thyroid medicine as her thyroid hormones were low. In 4 weeks, Meyer was a spirited black lab, who loved the swimming pool and had thick, culry hair all over her body! Each time I went to walk her, the staff was friendly, promptly brought her out, and everyone at the clinic had become quite attached to her.Had it not been for Veterinary Healthcare & Assoc., Meyer would have been in dog heaven. Each member of the team genuinely cares about the animals they care for. This kind of committment is so valuable, and so hard to find. They have treated our dogs in emergencies with the same gentle concerned care. Absolutely a 10 * practice. Nikki McKinney
