Took my cat here the first time because he wasnt feeling well. The staff were very nice and supportive, and I have to say I think the vet who worked with me over the week before my cat had to be put to sleep really cared about my cat and did everything she could to help him and when she realized it was beyond her ability she referred me to a specialist, which was appropriate. She got me to see my cats needed to have dental cleanings, after 4 years of seeing another incompetent vet, who told me my cats gums and teeth were fine and they didnt need dental cleanings and they were stupid and a waste of money. Im grateful for that. However, another younger vet, who I think was new there, intruded into the visit with me, my cat and my vet. The treatments werent working and my cat had stopped walking the day before and that was why I brought him in again. That vet was loud, rude and cruel. You could hear her yelling about clients throughout the whole office and she implied she was suspicious of me causing my cats condition. It was very hurtful and I was already upset because of my cats condition. Then I left to take my cat to the specialist only to find he had a huge sarcoma in his lung and neck and had to be put to sleep. That vet made one of the worst days of my life a bigger nightmare. Also, their cost for dental cleanings is very high, $300, plus $75 for each extraction. I took my other cat up to a vet in Muskego and had it done for $200. They also did a BNP and EKG on her first because she was almost 10 to make sure she was safe for the anesthesia, something that no one recommended at Prairie Side. Im also against the way they push vaccines and dont even care if the animal has been vaccinated recently, over-vaccinating animals, which is known to be harmful to pets. It goes against the new veterinary guidelines. I was told on the phone, I think by that rude vet, that if I didnt bring in my cats records they would have to vaccinate her, to which I told her I would not allow it. I cant say I didnt learn from the experience, but because of the vaccine issue, that horrible rude vet and the high cost of dentals, I wont return.

Our family loves to take our pets to Prairie Side Vet! From the minute we walk through the door, we can feel the love the staff has for our pets. They try so hard to get our one dog to love them, since the dog doesnt really love to be at the vet. They are extremely patient with our other dogs spazzy behavior! Our dogs went through a phase of dog domination fights. The phase almost got to a point where we were ready to get rid of both dogs. With Dr. Eds advice and lots of patience, we now have two dogs that love each other. We know how to prevent dog domination and aggressive behavior issues. One of our dogs started having seizures. The staff has been so helpful at teaching us what we need to look for in our dog with her seizures. This particular dog is now enjoying life to its fullest and is on the right anti seizure medication. Prairie Side take excellent care of the animals and shows the owners how to enjoy being a pet owner. Thank you to the staff! I highly recommend Prairie Side Vet to others!

Positives first....The support staff is great and deserve better. I have no use for the Vets and anyone who hires them. I cant say much about the newest vet addition except my 4 yr. old French is dead a week after a check up with her and voicing our concerns. Here are a few memories. One decided there was no limit to the amount of water enemas a cat could hold...(trip to ER Vet) My now deceased dog ended up at the ER Vet after her puppy shots a few years back.... Also watched as one traumatized another of our dogs with multiple attempts to draw blood. The tech jumped in when she saw the look of horror on my face. Point being my dog would be alive if they considered the breed. I goggled it (too late). I am devastated by the death of my dog and this is only my opinion so take that under consideration.

We got three different answer on how my cat is breathing...dropped hundreds of dollars to figure out what it was. Brought her to another vet...they figured it our right away. All these people care about is getting money out of you. Didnt get an antibiotic shot for my cat...because the doc said just in case if something happens i aaid no because we are not spending $60 on something just in case ..she walked out of that room pissed..i will never bring any of my animals here again . 100 dollars just to see if it was this thing or that thing... $340 for an xray and sedation and $60 antibiotics because supposedly she wouldnt calm down but everytime i bring her she is super calm and just sits there so its hard to believe. $490 on declaw and spay which they actually did good on that

Wow what a greeting from Dana. I was calling all the clinics to get a price quote for my princess mimi for a trek cleaning because my husband &I are both on disability. Everyone said she needed an exam & it would cost 39 to 49. Im like seriously all they are going to do is look in her mouth. It dose not cost that much for a quick look to quote someone. So being a new patient they said it will cost 1.00 to exam her& if anything else was needed. Now thats what Im pleased to know that they want your business because they care not only for the animal but the people there owners as mommy daddys. Thank-you so much for this amazing offer. Im very appreciative

I really love Dr. Lee she is very caring and wants to help out her patients. As for the owners of the animal hospital. I know you need to make money but is it more important to make money or help save the lives of a pets. I have a cat who is diabetic and he needs insulin to live. I dont mind paying a $10.00 fee for a script, but it would be nice if they could fax the script over to the pharmacy to avoid the time and delay in getting the medication for my pet. Sad that money is more important than the life of a beloved pet. Shame....

My dog got spaded at Safe Harbor and she got fluid build up in sutures. We took her to Prairie side for a follow up. Theyde trying saying she need emergency surgery because she may have had something extremely wrong with her stitches and it would cost $400.00... We didnt by it. It was common for females after being spaded to have this issue. The vet at Safe Harbor extracted the fluid and told us to put a warm compress on her belly. Ill NEVER take my pet to these cons.

Super friendly, helpful and were great with our two dogs! The vet techs go above and beyond to help, whether you are there for a check up with your or pet or calling with a question about your pets behavior or health. This place is great! After floating around for a few years with out a permanent doctor for our pooches this place is now it! Oh! I was also impressed that not only were there toys in the exam room for the pets but also for children!
