I recently moved to the Bronx from Manhattan. I didnt have dental insurance for a long time so it was a few years since I had a cleaning and dental care. I decided to visit Hutchinson dental after seeing their tv ad and from my friends recommendation. The front desk staff is horrible Rude and unprofessional. I have heard this from my friend who referred me here but I experienced for myself when I came to the office. My friend has seen the other hygienists who are olga and Lisa. She said they are the best and do the most thorough cleanings. The assistant who took my X-ray Jose was busy recommending me to see Silvia because she is a good hygienist and is gentle. I didnt ask for recommendations who to see because I just wanted good care. I ended up seeing Silvia hygienist for the cleaning and she seems like she knows nothing about patient care , I asked her a few questions about flossing and Invisalign and it was like she didnt want to be bothered with answering any questions i had but only for me to listen what she was saying. As far as the Invisalign question goes she said " I dont know you have to see the orthodontist ". Like I wasnt looking for all the details I just asked would you recommend Invisalign for me and that I had braces when I was younger but my teeth moved back. She then went on to tell me I need a deep cleaning and that there is a charge for something for the bleeding when I asked her what it was , the name of the drug that will cost me she seemed like she had no idea what she was talking about and was unsure of what she was even proposing. She avoided any further questions and began the deep cleaning. After the cleaning she told me the dentist was busy and cannot see me so I left the office. Two weeks later I scheduled a dental check up with another office and paid for a new set of X-rays because Hutchinson dental never got back to me when I called and requested them to Email me my X-rays. At the new office I visited in Manhattan close to my job they told me I need a deep cleaning so I told them I just had one two weeks ago. The dentist called me over to the computer to look at my new X-rays and showed me all the tartar Silvia left in my gums. She should not be a hygienist and needs to go back to school to learn to be professional and do a proper cleaning. Terrible attitude and horrible job she did not even removing one piece of plaque that was under my gums. Would not recommend anyone to see Silvia gentle means shes not doing a good job folks!

I took my 4 year old son to Hutchinson Metro Dental to have a cavity filled. With the help of laughing gas he was a champ for the first 45 minutes and then started to get fussy toward the end. I tried to comfort him but the dentist told me to leave the room. Two weeks later he was experiencing sensitivity around the tooth so I brought him back in and the dentist looked at the tooth and asked the hygienist to take an x-ray, noting that my son was "uncooperative." They tried 4 times and finally told us that they couldnt get a good shot because he wasnt sitting still enough (mind you they never asked him to be still) and told me I had to take him to a hospital setting for an x-ray under sedation. I asked if they could give him the gas in the office and they said "no" because he had eaten (mind you had eaten the first time they gave him the gas because no one told me not to have him eat). We left and I made an appointment with another pediatric dentist. We went today and not only did they get a good x-ray after one try but they told me that the dentist at Hutchinson Metro either didnt bother to fill the cavity or did it so poorly that it had fallen out. Now he has an infection and they said they arent even sure they will be able to save the tooth! As a mom, I can tell you that with young kids it is all about bedside manner. With Hutchinson Metro my son was "uncooperative," but with our new dentist (Smile Savers) he was a dream. Please dont take your kids to Hutchinson Metro Dental!

On Monday April 11th 2016, I had a scheduled appointment to see Dr. Yuriy Khasdan at 3pm. I arrived to my scheduled appointment at 2:50pm. At such time I was informed by the two ladies that Dr. Yuriy had just went to lunch and should be returning shortly. I did say to the young ladies that this was a bit unprofessional, was he aware that I had a 3; 00 appointment? After sitting for at least 45mins, I questioned the young ladies at the desk asking them “had the dentist return from lunch as of yet”? At such time I was informed that the dentist left early and they were unaware of his departure for the day. They then asked if I mind seeing another dentist. I responded no. after waiting from 2:50-5:20 and hearing multi other people complain about the dentist, and how he had just did the same thing last week, I decided enough was enough. How unprofessional was this? Something needs to be done about the scheduling and unprofessionalism that occurs in this office. I had to hear about a staff member who felt she wasn’t trained properly and she also had a bad attitude. I had to hear other patients complain. In closure, I will not be using this dentist anymore along with the three other people I referred.

I have had terrible experiences at this office time and time again. I book all of my appointments months in advance, but I wait an average time of an hour every appointment. For the past 3 apppintments, I have confirmed via email and text message. The day before these appointments, I received a text message stating a different time for my appointment. I had an appointment for wisdom teeth extraction, and when calling the day before asking, "will they be using local anesthesia or something more extensive," the receptionist responded, "they put people to sleep here." Upon arriving for this appointment at the designated home, I waited 45 minutes until I saw the doctor. He informed me that I could not get sedated because I had eaten in the past 6 hours, something the receptionist should have shared with me when I called. I was given a bill of over $1,100 after insurance, when friends who had the same procedure done only paid $200 at a nearby orthopedic surgery practice. When I had a root canal, Dr. Igor attempted to numb mouth, but after several attempts he proceeded to drill my tooth without it being numb. I have had several terrible experiences here and would NOT recommend this office.

After using them for my dental needs for 5+years, their decline in service has finally reached a breaking point for me. Ive dealt with 3 hour cleanings, where the procedure was all of 20 mins but due to poor management by staff, most of my time was spent WAITING. Ive had my appointment deleted by staff, and they tried to turn me away but thank God I saved my text confirmations. Ive had them over bill me for xrays [which I had then reverse]. My absolute last straw was this marshmallow of a crown they put in my mouth. I do suffer from anxiety so it was a difficult procedure. But I was allowed to leave without them adjusting it, had to go back and the dentist then filed it flat and I have a hole with the metal showing. They offered to redo it, and when I went back I found out they would have to drill it off and grind my tooth again, which may lead to a root canal. Seeing hiw sick Im getting over having to redo this crown, my mother convinced me not to let them touch me again, as they keep striking out and the quality of work keeps deteriorating. This place cares more about your dollar than they do you. They used to be great, but with times things change and not for the better.
