This is a short version of my encounter today. Its not necessary to drag it out painful inch by painful inch. Youll get the idea. I was having extreme pain in my lower back on each side. The area of the kidneys all morning long. After a few jolts of pain blinding me I decided it was time to go to the hospital. ER was packed, didnt really care I figured they would triage me pretty quickly, the pain was evident, i was dripping sweat had to be put in a wheelchair, etc. I was OK as long as I wasnt moving. I was given a urine sample cup, which I took care, and kept with me in the waiting area. At some point, I wasnt really watching the clock, an IV was put in my arm and they started to give me fluids. Blood was taken later all the while, no movement was made. After 8 hours I finally said something and that was when I was told their computers were down all day and the were frozen and could not operate. It was horrible. I should have been informed and not just me, everyone and at that point being informed we could have made choices for ourselves to decide whether or not we wanted to stay and I wait. Its also a shame that a hospital in this day and age is completely reliant upon their computers and no one was able to flip the switch, back to the olden ways, and get stuff done. I went into Lawrence today, hoping that by NY Presbyterian taking over things would have been better than my last encounters there, of which there have been a few, I was wrong, they have reached a new level of horrible. Absolutely the worst and everyone should be held accountable.

I cant say enough about all the care that my dad received on 3north at Lawrence Hospital. My dad has been in and out of the hospital the past two months and each and every time the staff care has been impeccable. This last two week period my dad has been doing very poorly, terminal and sent home on hospice with limited time. Each and every time I went to the hospital, the greatest care was given to him, which put myself and my families worries at ease. The nurse care, and the aids, especially Raimonde, and all that were involved, to many names to remember, but in my heart, and a special thanks to Sharon, one of his nurses, made my dads stay as comfortable as possible. I am truly grateful for the comfort, smiles and support given to me. A shout out to Corey at food service who always with his bigger than life smile and personality made me smile, laugh and forget even for a precious minute, was so appreciated. My review would not be complete without a mention to Frank in the Lobby, who with his sincerity and caring nature for not just myself, my family, but to everyone who came across his desk when he was working, was truly a support to my every entry and departure from the hospital. Thank you all, and thank you for all the prays.

This hospital is a lazy hospital with very bad security. My father was very sick one day, So when he got to the hospital, he was cry for help on the floor on his knees. Then I also visited my father one day when he finally got help. He had to get sugary that day. He had sugary and was in recovery and I didnt get any notification about him being in recovery. So I was in the hospital hoping my father was ok 6 HOURS STRAIGHT. Now it has been 4 days after he had sugary, still not feeling better at all, but they want him out of the hospital now. He is barley talking or moving. But you want him to go home?!?!?! Who ever is reading this should follow and comprehend with everything that is being said in this text. If you go to this hospital, you will wish you never did. ( BTW: I was born in this hospital 13 years ago, the disappointment I have for this hospital in unbelievable) (P.S.- me being 13 and being able to just walk by the security guard without saying a word should really say something)

So surprised at all the negative reviews. I feel like we are talking about 2 totally different hospitals. My father was seen immediately in the ER and from there the care even got better. The transporters were friendly and caring. The staff though busy, kept me informed and made me comfortable as well as him. They had him in a room quickly. The staff on the floors from the CNAs to the house doctors and pastoral staff were caring and professional as well as supportive. When it came time for hospice Dad had a private room and nothing but caring people and peaceful surroundings to ease his way out of our world. I could not be more grateful and impressed. I was there every day but one for 3 weeks and I never had a rude encounter or felt his needs were being neglected in any way. When all was said and done I still received phone calls from several staff checking on me. I have told many people including my family, if I ever have to be hospitalized I want to be there.

Well just check in to Lawrence / New York Presbyterian hospital all ready greeted rudely and told its going to be to 2 hr wait with nobody in the waiting room.... will write up the ending review when everything said and done. Update they brought us in the back room of Im waiting in the room no doctor on site over 2 hour wait in the back room no nurse Came in to check on her condition no doctor no water was offered I have to say theres no compassion in this hospital For patients still waiting 6:00am now..smh. Update just spoke to the doctor no by his 6:08 not by his choice by Minds I had to literally cut him off in the hallway to ask him are we going to be seen he responded and said yes and walked away probably to never return I might as well put on a white coat and diagnosis her myself give her pain medication write her a prescription to the pharmacy this is ridiculous iam really starting to think this is a really crappy ...hospital

I used to come here and have very pleasant experiences but since it became NYP it has been absolutely horrific and overcrowded. The last time I came with a friend and he ended up leaving because of the wait. Tonight I came for myself and after 2.5 hours of waiting I asked if they had an ETA on when I might be seen. She responded that it would be about 4 hours longer. I saw numerous people leave the waiting room but I only saw one person leave the ER the whole time I was there. I read on numerous websites that if you have abdominal pain you should go to a hospital immediately. Whats the point of going immediately for something possibly life threatening if they are going to dump you in the waiting room? I was also informed that I would receive a bill for triage. Wow. You leave me there for 2.5 hours and want me to pay for the privilege of getting my temperature taken and explaining to the nurse that Sunday to Tuesday is not 4 days. Twice.
