Unfortunately, I took my dog here to be euthanized. The place is really small (they have another location on the other side of Prospect Park) but clean. I assume they stagger the appointments so multiple people or animals arent in the waiting room. The most important thing was how thoughtful they were through the whole situation. I felt that they understood what a horrible day it was for me. They let me take as much time as I needed before and after. Thank you to your staff. Although one would wish that it wouldnt matter, money was something that I had to consider. I had called ahead for prices of euthanasia as well as individual cremation. The prices were better than an old vet we used to go to in Harlem (about half the cost). Only minus is that I had to ask about Care Credit and if it was no interest. I wish they would have talked to be about it on their own. Care Credit is easy to apply to and has no interest so if you want some assistance with paying for the bill, I encourage you to apply. We were going to put it on our credit card but with no interest for 18 months, this was a better way to go. They were very nice when I picked up the ashes as well. The ashes were in a box with my pets name on it which was more than I expected. Overall, I thought they were extremely thoughtful and compassionate through the entire ordeal. And when youre going through the process of losing your best friend, thats exactly what you need. Thank you again to the staff. I would recommend people take their vet to either of their locations.

Crown Heights is an outstanding animal hospital. I had an 18 year old male cat who was suffering from kidney failure. I originally made and appointment to put him to sleep on Wednesday. Last night he let me know that he was not going to be able to make it until then. I called this morning at 10am and asked if I could bring him in to put him down. As always, the receptionist on the telephone was kind and caring. She informed me that I could bring him immediately. This is my second cat I had to put down in the past 6 months. As with my first cat all the staff at Crown Heights were completely sympathetic, caring and kind. This Vet Clinic is always available in an emergency situation and we are always greeted with complete professionalism and competence. I wanted to write this review to let other animal owners out there know that this is by far the best Vet facility in the area. Unlike Animal Kind in Park Slope who wants to always charge for an emergency visit, has apathetic receptionists and wants you to wait for an open appointment while your animal may be suffering, Crown Heights Animal Hospital displays none of this type of behavior. We really appreciate all of the staff and their thoughtfulness in taking care of our family, including us, the two sobbing parents. Thank You to Dr. Kurowski and Dr Sophia for your devotion to pets and your kind heart

This is a wonderful practice. Expert care, efficient service, and true caring for both animal and human clients. Ive been taking my cats here since it opened, and can say that theyre top-notch (and Ive had elderly cats with very complicated chronic and acute problems and am really picky about vets). Im my blocks Crazy Cat Lady, at one time having had six cats myself, plus numerous strays Ive rescued and fostered until theyre re-homed, and my limited income makes caring for all of them very difficult. Crown Heights Animal Hospital isnt cheap (what vet is these days?), but they will give you less-costly options on treatment and waive exam fees when they can. The practice is expanding rapidly as the neighborhood changes, but theyve ramped up staffing to accommodate it, so you can still get appointments with relative ease and count on having adequate time and attention from the techs and vets. If you truly love your animal friends, you wont go wrong bringing them here.

Ive taken my cats here a few times. I have found the staff pleasant and reasonably helpful, but I had a recent experience that puts them firmly in the "never again" camp: My cat takes thyroid medication (based on their recommendation), I purchase the pills from them 60 at a time. The most recent time, they gave me 30 whole pills and 30 half pills, totaling 45 pills. Obviously, they were scamming me and hoping I wouldnt notice since there were 60 items in the vial. They even wrote on the bottle, "pills cut but its the right #". They claimed that they cut them to help me out, but if this were the case, why not cut all of the pills? And why not give me all of the pills that I paid for?! I am truly shocked at the depths they have sunk to scam me out of a few bucks. I can only hope someone on the administrative end and not one of the vets was responsible for this.

Our baby died after having a tooth pulled here. Do not trust them with anesthesia. Our young cat was fine until these people told us she just had to get a tooth pulled. No, she didnt. She did not. They wanted more procedures done ($$$) and because I trusted them, I went along. Its the biggest regret of my life. Its five months since our baby died and Ive had time to research and think. They told us we needed to get unnecessary surgery that killed her. Anesthesia is no joke and you do NOT need to risk your pets life so these people can make a buck (or a thousand) unnecessarily pulling teeth!!! The risk of bacteria is nothing compared to the risk of anesthesia! I am convinced that if wed kept her away from this place that shed be alive and happy with us today. I miss her so much. My heart is forever broken and I wish to god Id never taken my baby to this place.

I have had a great experience with the Crown Heights Animal Hospital. The techs and receptionists are nice to me and very sweet to my dog. The vets are very efficient and knowledgeable. My dog had surgery to remove a lump from his side and while it turned out not to be cancerous they gave me advise and the information I needed to let me make my own decision about his treatment. They were also very straight up about the cost, they drew up an estimate and didnt make me feel guilty or like a horrible owner for asking about a price. The stitches were done very well and I got a call back from the surgeon when I called with some follow up questions. I feel comfortable taking him there.

Dr. Isaacson sets the standard of what a vet should be. When my animals are sick I tend to act like a neurotic parent. She has never made me feel like I am acting crazy. This vet office took me through the final stages of my cats battle with cancer with warmth and compassion and she and her team made themselves available for what I know were too many questions. When the time came to finally say goodbye they showed me a level of genuine sympathy and warmth far beyond that of someone merely doing their job. If you want to your pet to go to a vet who does not just treat them like they are doing business go here!
