If I could give this facility ZERO Stars, I would. They say never judge a book by its cover, well when you browse through their website, the false imaging begins, when you get to the facility, the reality begins. This is by far one of the worst Long Term Care Facilities I have ever stepped into. You can never reach ANY of the staff, even after leaving numerous messages, you are never relayed accurate information, and the Admissions staff is the worst here! I had my mother here for two months while she was battling Stage 4 Cancer, and I was probably better-off leaving her at home to fend for herself, because she would have accomplished the same things she "accomplished" at this pathetic facility. The Social Worker will call with a Walt-Disney-like voice, and claim everything is okay, yet when you get there and see how other residents are treated and mistreated, you say to yourself, what the hell was My idiotic Sister thinking when she recommended this place to put My Mother??? What a disaster! The staff is NOT friendly, the Doctors are hardly ever around to talk about updates, etc., not to mention the pre-historic means of communication at this Facility. When you dont care about your elderly Family, need a place to drop them off, and leave, this is the place! I couldnt wait to get my mother out of this hole!!! Its scary to see, let alone think, about how the elderly are treated, and how many more facilities there are out there that are a lot worse! Disgraceful!

I give this facility one star, because it wont allow me to post zero stars. Thought Id take this opportunity to remark since I notice a previous review of mine has been taken down. Please listen to me, Im for real... if youre thinking of bringing a loved one here, turn around and run as FAST as you can. The place is very beautiful, right on the hudson river with million dollar views. But, looks are deceiving. The nurses were abusive with my mother. She was punched in between her legs during a cleaning (more than once), after waiting 40 minutes to have one. Dr. Terra Nova is more like Dr. Frankenstein. He did not seem to care, he appeared dirty, acne pus oozing from his nose, and pretty much told me my mother was going to die so theres nothing he can do. But he managed to pull a photo album from the inside of his jacket pocket to show me his German Shepherds while my mother was laying there out cold. The water/ice machine on the 3rd floor common room have black mold around the spout. Hmmm, WTF? The techs do not help to feed the residents, I caught the tech with my mom playing with her phone while the dinner tray was waiting and my mom was laying there. Theres more - but Im done. STAY AWAY FROM SKY VIEW!

I am told that most people from NYC who transfer from Burke rehab to a sub- acute choose to go downstate We chose to go further away because SKYVIEW appeared to be well situated, have good amenities and provide the needed PT services. Our experience has gone beyond the hoped for! The million dollar views looking down and/or across the Hudson River - so good and necessary for the spirit - are a big bonus when added to the excellent and caring nursing, and thorough PT. Everyone from the janitorial staff to management, from CNAs to RNs to Doctors, and the kitchen staff are pleasant and cheerful and accommodating. Any concerns have been quickly addressed and sorted out. This is our 4th nursing home rehab experience and finally it seems we have found a comfortable and effective facility.

Staff ignored the worsening condition of a dear friend over a full day and by the time I arrived the patient was incoherent and had to be rushed to ER. Staff refused to contact patients Dr. who had not seen the patient once in the entire week patient was there. By the time patient arrived at ER he was in coma. The next day I gathered his belongings and multiple staff, including the head nurse, were unresponsive to the point of complete incompetence. A true smoke and mirrors environment- looks nice, but look beyond the pretty view of the place and observe closely.

My mother died due to the negligence if the staff! Right lung collapsed, she kept telling the staff she couldnt catch her breath for an ENTIRE DAY! They didnt call 911 until she was CRITICAL! Then lied to my face about calling 911 immediately! She didnt survive a full week there. DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES IN THIS FACILITY!!!
