I have rated my experience exceptionally low due to the inability of staff or the vet, to follow instructions. We left our diabetic cairn terrier for a stay of 3 1/2 days. Very explicit directions were given for the feeding and insulin shot schedule. Specifically to be fed only 2x each day at specific times at which time the shot should be given. No food was to be left in his crate at any other time. When we picked up our dog we arrived 2 1/2 hours prior to when his final feeding and shot for the day should have been given. The vet told us he had already had his insulin. When questioned as to why, the response was a very nonchalant "there was a miscommunication with the vet tech". Curious answer since in a later conversation the vet claims he gave the shots. Really?, he was there at 7:30am and 7:30pm everyday??? I think not. Expressing my concern his additional response was not to worry he has food in his crate. My dog was extremely lethargic, barely responsive to us, heavy panting, sneezing and his legs started to collapse under him. The bed we left for him was soaked in urine. After visiting our regular vet it was determined that his glucose levels were very high. It took us several days to get him back to a normal state. I can only guess that had we not picked him up when we did that our dog may have died. Why did they not notice that something was wrong with him? I will NEVER do business with this animal hospital again!!!
