In 1988- 1990 I was the 11pm - 7am Charge Nurse on the coed MICA & Admissions Unit - Tons of crazy freaked out things going on all night long... From the 3 police escort admits of street patients fully shackled from the neck down @ 4am to the "patient" transfers from county jail to the Portuguese pyromaniac Hiv positive-Aids patient who didnt understand English who somehow managed to get a hold of a set of matches then promptly set herself on fire at least 4 times a year to the guy who cut off his dick and gave it to his favorite Nurse as a birthday gift to Sundays being dubbed as "Drug Holidays" which in other words meant Sundays wss the day that patients were free from taking meds to the Hannibal Lectors we had to subdue and strait jacket without time for a Drs order to be called in... that and so much more left us with never a dull moment. Oh and yes the underground tunnels that were used in the coldest winters to transport patients from one bldg to the next really did have remnents of dead bodies strung up and cuffed to the walls - and this was all active before I left in May of 1990.

There are SO many issues! The rooms: they dont offer internet and the rooms are very drafty. Getting staff to respond to any calls or requests was a nightmare. Staff finally show up hours later than we expected, and then we had a difficult time communicating with them, (there was more screaming and moaning than talking) and getting them to stay long enough to finish a discussion was impossible. They refused to appear in souvenir photos with my friends and I, even though they do for other guests. In-room refrigeration isnt available, but you can rent one of the 16 in the basement, for a small fee. Ive been to worse places, but not too often! Everyone recommends the Tower, but we didnt find it hard to climb. Dont always believe the hype!

Felt demon seep into my soul. My heart stopped and I could not breathe. Had to get inhaler from my Honda. Scariest moment of my life. Then I went back inside and explored the elevator. Suddenly a brick fell and crushed my pinkie toe. Still wearing the cast today. Wouldnt recommend if you want to keep your toe bones healthy. Went back yesterday same story. Now I only have two toes left. Hated it. Never go. Thank you for my loss of toes. Now I can hardly walk. Hopefully when I get a pedicure theyll charge me less.

Dit gebouw is verlaten,en wordt niet meer gebruikt. Er zijn veel mensen daar dood gegaan. De helft van dr gebouwen waren in 2016 al weg. Ik weet niet hoe het zit met 2017 nu. Je kan het misschien nog bezoeken. Behalve dat het erg eng is en heel erg groot.

5/5 would come again to die of heart attack, make sure u climb all the way to the top of the elevator generator (yes its still on because the building still has power, so beware of wires and hobos), also climb onto the ledges out the side windows and beware of slippery staircases, saw orbs(in the picture the glossy shiny grey that pops up), be sure you check out the other buildings like the fire house, the admin building, the homes, & the main hall

Security hides there at night in SUVs with lights off. We were walking through the quads and someone said they see a car in the dark. Suddenly the car turns on its high beams and search lights then speeds toward us full throttle. We practically ran for our lives from this maniac in a SUV.

I stayed here recently and it was great. The activities building had this awesome pool and they even have their own fire department here. I REALLY recommend this place to anyone looking for a good stay on the Island.

If you are looking to be adventurous, then this is the place. I do not recommend going to the "quads" at night. So many scary memories at this beautifully creepy place!
