My mom was at this facility for almost 3 months after a fall which resulted in 2 fractured ribs and pelvis. The care she received at this facility was poor at best. While the physical therapy was very good for the most part, the nursing care was horrible. There were some very caring RNs and LPNs and a few dedicated aides, but overall the nursing staff was uncaring, unprofessional, and incompetent. My mother was left on many occasions to sit for hours in a wheelchair, unable to get up on her own to go to the bathroom, only to soil herself after calling repeatedly for help. Other times she was left sitting for hours in a wheelchair after asking to be helped into bed because her legs and feet were horribly swollen and numb from being in one position far too long. Other times she would be left in the hall or dining area for long periods of time, asking to be brought back to her room to no avail. I even got a call from her roommate one weekend evening to tell me that my mom was sitting in the hallway directly in front of the nurses station after dinner asking over and over to be brought back to her room which was about 20 feet away, but was being ignored. Her roommate pleaded with me not to say to anyone working there that she had called me to alert me to what was going on because she was afraid of retaliation by the staff. I rushed over to the facility to see what was going on and found my mother crying because no one would help her. She desperately had to go to the bathroom, but her pleas to the staff were ignored. She too didnt want me to report what had happened because she too was afraid of retaliation by the staff!! I should also mention that one particularly horrible aide made false statements and falsely documented medical records about my moms care. I happened to discover these erroneous documentations when inquiring at the nursing station whether my mom was getting her physical therapy from the aides that was ordered from the physical therapists. She was supposed to have assisted walks by the aides 3X daily, but I had been at the facility most of this particular day, and not one aide came in to walk with her. The nurse on duty checked her records and I was told that the aide assigned to my mother documented that she had walked my mother at 1pm that day. Impossible! I was there there all day, and it was not done! That was the turning point in my trust for anyone working at this facility. I could go on and on about the lack of care, but be assured it was all down hill form there. It went from bad to worse. Do yourself and your loved one a huge favor, find a different facility. Dont let the beautiful lobby and nicely decorated residents rooms fool you. Theres no heart there.

Well, believe the previous 1 star reviews. I cant give it zero, so here goes. If you want to put your loved one in a pretty place with nice wallpaper, flowers and seasonal decorations, but want that to be the last thing they ever see, this is your place. Mom was there for post surgical physical rehabilitation. The staff was informed she was to be on a low-fat diet. Her first meal was a hamburger and "Tater-Tots." OK... Moms exercise consisted of a girl walking her two doors from her room and turning mom around. When she complained to the supervisor that she felt she wasnt getting proper help, the staffer lied and said "her hands were full and she was pushing a wheelchair too" The supervisor started taking up for the staff, so there was no point in escalating it. You see... The staff is mostly comprised of slooow-moving females. Lots of hair, dyed in colors you wont see in nature, ridiculously long fake nails, and door-knocker ear rings that will be sure to suck their teeth every time you ask for something. Nuff said about that... The topper was, and I read this in previous postings, the old girl in the bed next to mom fell in the bathroom. My brother was there visiting and saw the event first-hand. A staff member escorted her to the bathroom and left the room, came back ten minutes later and looked for her in her bed. Left again for ten minutes, came back and knocked on the bathroom door. When she tried to open it, she found her on the floor. She LEFT HER THERE, went and got another staff member. The two of them stood there looking at her, THEY BOTH LEFT, came back with a third staff member who actually talked to the old girl, got her up and back in bed. Next time I was there the lady was in her bed with a neck brace on. If you care at all about your family, avoid this place. A staff member there, that was very decent and looked quite frazzled told us that the facility was bought by Hasidics who cut the place to the bone and started hiring low paid help. I have no way of knowing if this is true, I dont know who owns it, and I cant say what it was like prior to the supposed purchase, But I can say that after using their "services" I would never bring anyone I even mildly cared about to this facility.

First Day - The grounds are impressive inside is amazing. Rooms very well organized each side is identical so no one has more than the other. TV Speaker is from the TV not from the remote like in hospitals which does not make sense when youre in a room with someone who could be hard of hearing. Seems like you can have a volume war and the speaker on the remote would be a simple fix. (no big deal) When you are coming out a hospital and into a rehab center the attention of care drops considerably. The attention you get is different less intense than if you need round the clock care. Keep this in mind. My wife is in this rehab center after her bout with pneumonia. Prior to this she has had many other issues relating to her two strokes in the last 8 years. She uses a walker but needs to be retrained in its use again and cant be left alone. She needs assistants in everything she does. Last night I received a call from the rehab center and I went over everything with the staff member making absolutely sure they know what to expect from her and What I expect from them. I told them about the reviews Ive read and what people are saying about patients falling. I will continue to place comments here on the progress. My wife has 6 sisters one of them called to see how she was she was not received properly on the phone and phone edicate was not executed properly. The person on the other end was so glib on what Marys status was she didnt seem to care. This did not bowed well with her sister nor with me and I did mention it to the staff person calling me that night. This is two stars for the first day.

What can I say about a facility that shows love and care to my 92 year old mother? What can I say? Many things. From the moment I walked in the door I knew I would be content and so would Mom. My mother has fallen multiple times. Femur fracture, rib fracture and now a hip fracture. Each time she had to go to HH her care was superb. From the Admissions Director and staff to the superb Nursing Director Teri ODriscoll to the PT transport guys, everyone treated my Mom with the utmost respect and care. The PT here is phenomenal. My Mom always ended up in great shape. My husband was here too for double hip replacement and he received such quality care in the 2 weeks he was there. We feel safe at HH, the staff is like family. I know Im there often enough that everybody knows me, but Im also there often enough to see the care given to all the patients. A tough decision is going to be made as we feel my Mom needs long term care. Huntington Hills is my one and only choice, just as it was when we had to pick a rehab center for her. My friends whose loved ones were there feel the same way. A shout out to so many people, Ken, Teri, Leslie, Deborah, Beth, Carolyne, Nancy, Joanne, Barbara, Diane, Janie, Dione, Zach, Yvette, Dilia, and most important the aide who has made my Moms life in rehab happy, our Yva. Mom is so appreciative of everything and its true you get what you give, but this staff gives so much more. Im so blessed and thankful.
