My experience with John T Mather hospitalI have been coming for years now in fact I will not go to any other hospital I was staying in Brentwood and that did not stop me from traveling far. My health is the most important and at John T Math they make sure you are safe you see specialists they make sure nothing slips by the Staff if possible always asking is there anything I can get you it was a very good healing! With much TLC! I have a list of illnesses such as Crohns Disease, colitis, acid reflux as well as chronic pain but enough with that! I woke up sick about 10 am chills was hopping it was nothing being a single mom is not easy but thank the universe that she is the best GodMother that I know! So I fall back a sleeping hopping I would sleep off what ever it was well that did not go to well we take my temp again and it was crazy I was up to 103.2 for me thats high my core temp is only 97.7 always so one of the kids said mommy you need the Dr and they were not wrong I had several things going on I was admitted 8/5/2016 I would like to describe my experience here it was the best as always I had a good team of Drs caring about my health issues Dr Emanuele and her wonderful team of staff of Dr made sure I was on the antibiotics still here 8/14/2014 but since here Ive been seen by specialists! They all treated me with respect and took the time to listen if I had any big concerns! I also had the pleasure to meet Long Island Digestive Disease team every Dr I met was friendly and informative! Now the reason why Im here is because I developed was the fever just to find out I had pneumonia with a Crohns / colitis flair up with all this going on my potassium levels were critically low they all worked testes everything possible before allowing me to go home! I WANT TO SAY TO MY CARE GIVERS 2 SOUTH THANK YOU Nurses Aids. The Registered nurses Joe. Dawn Roda. Maggie Marc. Ruchelle Barbara. Carrie Josette Natalie Doug Laina The house keeping staff Wonderful clean rooms! All the staff that worked hard to bring the meals ordered But there is always one thats just nit happy! Thank you John T Mather And all the wonderful people That assisted in improving my health Blessings Margaret M Gallant

I took my mother there because she had a back injury and was in pain. The house Dr. gave her 1/2 a dose of pain meds through intravenous. I told him that she is very sensitive to pain. He said he would give a low dose. As mom passed out and had to go on Oxygen, I said, why did you give her so much? The nurse replied, well that is the least amount of dosage we can give her. Wow Im not sure if that is due to medical fees or what. Why couldnt they give her a less dosage? Like 1/3 instead of 1/2. Did they not want to pay for the full dosage when they used less. Is healthcare about money instead of the care of the patient? So my mother could have died as a result of having too much medicine. Not only that, when she was put on Oxygen and they tried to put her on a heart monitor, the monitor was missing a power cord. Are you Fn kidding? In an emergency, the cord is missing! Wow. Who oversees the Emergency cubicles. Cords for life and death equipment should not be missing. I hope to God they are reading this. Make corrections to your emergency service. Its cheaper than getting sued!

To anyone who must be hospitalized for whatever reason: I would highly recommend John T. Mather hospital in Port Jefferson. I was just discharged from this hospital after having spent 2 1/2 days there. I had a work related injury - an infected hand related to a cat bite (I am a veterinarian). The cat apparently was carrying a particularly nasty bacteria. Although I would fall short of characterizing this stay as "fun", the staff from top to bottom was friendly, professional, courteous, medically knowledgeable and efficient. I have rarely needed hospital services in the past and I hope I dont have need in the future. But if I or someone in my family runs into a future health problem that needs hospitalization, John T. Mather would be near the top of my list of where to go. John T. Mather Hospital - Keep up the good work! Dr. David Roy Hensen Paumanok Veterinary Hospital Patchogue, NY

I was admitted to Mater Memorial for intense abdominal pains. Despite overcrowding, I was quickly examined by a confident, competent, and kind Physicians Assistant who correctly diagnosed me (with appendicitis) based on multiple lines of evidence. The radiology and surgical staff were prompt, polite, and professional. The staff in the recovery ward was also compassionate, professional, and attentive. The available technology was functional and adequate. The food wasnt even that bad. I cannot sing the praises of Mather Memorial enough. My diagnosis, treatment, and recovery were greatly assisted by the exceptional staff I encountered there.
