These are fake vets, they do not know what they are doing and do not treat your dog accordingly. Let me give you the story that I have so that this doesnt happen to anyone else, and I would STRONGLY recommend that if you are using these people to do some research and find a different more qualified vet and not a cookie cutter one. I had a German Shepard/Lab mix, very healthy. I kept him up to date on everything and he hasnt had very many health problem if any at all. Unfortunately, these people was his vet since he was 6 weeks old and because he never had any health problems I didnt know any better, but here it my story: Towards the end of June of 2017 my dog ate a plastic container, he threw most of it up and was acting completely and 100% normal and it wasnt his first time chewing up plastic, so like anyone else I didnt think anything of it. About a week later he started coughing. On July 4th he started coughing and coughed up blood, the vet wasnt open so I couldnt call in. After he coughed up the blood his coughing wasnt as much, so I thought okay well maybe thats a good sign. On the morning of July 5th I was on my out the door with him to take him to the bathroom and again he coughed and coughed up blood but it also seemed like he was having trouble breathing. The moment Banfield opened I called them to make an appointment for my dog to be seen and requested that an X-ray be done to see if perhaps maybe he had a piece of plastic stuck somewhere. Now keep in mind, my dog is still behaving normal, eating and drinking normal, playing normal, just acting like his normal self. Banfield asked that I bring him in on the Morning of July 6th at 7:00 a.m. so that they can examine him, now I had to work so unfortunately I had to leave him there unattended by me and in their care. When I arrived at 7:00 a.m. with my dog, I told them the same story I told them over the phone again and requested that my dog have an X-ray this way we could find out what was going on. The girl at the desk McKenzie stated that I should sign up for the Wellness plan since the X-rays are included in the plan, so I did, for the soul purpose of them doing the X-rays as requested by ME. I left there at about 7:30 a.m. thinking my dog was in good care. At about 12:45 p.m. the vet finally called me to tell me that they DID NOT do the X-rays because they thought it would be a waste of time and money but that they did blood work and everything looks normal. They referred me to a specialist for an endoscopy. I picked him up at about 5:45 p.m. that day and paid $105.00 (for nothing). The following morning July 7th I called the specialist to see how much it would cost for an endoscopy to be done they quoted me between $1,800.00 and $2,500.00. Im not Rockefeller so I told them I would call them back. Now my dog has stopped eating. I called numerous people for help to see if maybe they had a payment plan that I could work with so that I could have an X-ray done like I asked Banfield who REFUSED to do it. I came across Guilderhaven who told me to go to Aqueduct Animal Hospital and that they would do an X-ray for me and they would help me with the cost. In the meantime, my dog is getting progressively worse, I called Banfield to tell them that ever since I left my dog with them he has been getting worse and stopped eating the day I brought him back home, the women on the phone was a complete jerk and told me that it was my fault because I havent taken him to the specialist like the vet told me to. Finally on July 19th I got my dog into Aqueduct to have the X-rays done like I had originally requested Banfield to do, and guess what, On July 22nd I had to put my 9 year old baby boy to sleep because of LUNG CANCER which would have been picked up if Banfield did their job to begin with and DID THE X-RAY like I requested, but instead my dog suffered longer than he should have until I found out what was wrong with him and practically starved to death because of them. And explain to me how his Blood Cell Count was Normal ???? It is completely impossible.

Very unhappy...I have 4 dogs. 2 go to this banfield the other 2 go to a 5 star vet. At banfield they never treat your dog in the room in front of you, they always take them in the back room away from us. Even if it is a simple procedure like take blood. My other vet does everything even stapled a dog pad back on in front of me. This place wont even clip a nail with us watching. If you are early then will not take you even when there are no other patients. Nope you must wait until your actual appointment time. Yes this has happened, and you can see in the exam rooms and they were empty. If you need an emergency visit you might as well forget it. 3 days after my dogs appointment which he had his nails clipped (not in front of me ..in the secret backroom of torcher) his nail fell out... They would not see him unless I did a drop off (which means drop him off and come back and get him later) no thank you. It takes my dogs 2 days after an appointment to not act traumatized. Of course after talking to another banfield they were more than happy to give me headquarters phone number... Which on Monday I will ba calling. Btw so much for a discount with having wellnesd program...cant use it If they wont see you. Oh wait as I am typing this they called to say they have an opening at 5 that just opened up....no thank you...i will soak his foot and put antibiotic cream on until monday and take him to professional 5 star veterinarians.

The vet tech (sorry did not get her name) gets an overwhelming excellent. She did more to assess my dog in one minute all while interacting with my dog, making him feel special and comfortable. The vet is another story, he gets a resounding FAIL. He scruffed my dog roughly to the table (this with a pomeranian of 7.5lbs.), did not do a comprehensive exam (which I pay a monthly for). He roughly injected 2 vaccines, one on either side of my dogs shoulders. The second one I was holding my dogs head (stupidly, I should not by then have been concerned with the vet not getting bitten) and I got bit. The vet actually chuckled! Said, OH YEAH, that one really stings them! I said you should have told me, Id NOT have held my dogs head. He smiled and said OOPS! With my finger bitten thru and bleeding, he just started leaving the room. I had to ASK for band-aid, as my finger was bleeding profusely. I am fighting cancer and cannot risk infections. The vet had no interest in interacting with my dog, made my dog extremely frantic and agitated. This was NOT a good visit. I will question returning even though I still have to pay the monthly Wellness Program.
