St. Francis cares more about money than the dogs they "care" for. Helping Arcadia Pets across the street to hide the fact that the puppies being sold for top dollar all have Giardia and Coccidia infections. You buy a puppy at Arcadia Pets, they send you over to "their" veterinarian and then they start by charging you $35 the first day to test the stool sample of your brand new puppy, only to call you the next day to let you know the puppy you just purchased has Giardia and Coccidia infections. Supposedly Dr. Joseph Augello sees and cares for all the puppies at Arcadia. The particular puppy we purchased had a cold and was already being treated by the doctor for a cold. The puppy was at Arcadia pets for weeks. A stool test could have been performed any time. When I asked a female doctor working at St. Francis why Arcadia didnt have them do stool samples - she answered to me "that would be too cost prohibitive." Well, Arcadia is paying for the Giardia and Coccidia medications after the fact, so theres no good reason that they couldnt have detected and treated the puppy before selling it to me and that way it would be easier for me to have it around my family/children. $35 is not cost prohibitive and a Dr. at St. Francis has no business commenting on the finances of the pet store across the street unless shes in on the deal. Also -- Giardia can infect humans and current pets (we have a dog) so handing over an infected puppy to an unsuspecting customer is just irresponsible and negligent. I assume that Arcadia is trying to offset the cost of the medication they know theyll have to pay for by working out a deal with St. Francis where people who purchase new puppies walk right in and start out by paying for a $35 test. So they wait until a puppy is sold, force the buyer to pay for a stool test, tell them theyll pay for meds if anything is detected, and of course SOMETHING is detected, then Arcadia pays for meds. Shady, unnecessary, and absolutely ridiculous. We paid $1900 for the puppy. I would have easily paid $1935 if theyd handed me a puppy in perfect health. Very strange people doing weirdly evil things without any real good reason. I mean for $35, theyre willing to piss people off. Actually if they tell people all their puppies are infected, probably none would get sold. So there is more money at stake and this veterinary office is complicit in enabling this behavior. If any humans catch Giardia, Id say the vets office could be considered an accomplice to this deception.

Its taken 20 years to finally be able to say I found a vet as wonderful as Dr. Maddox of Cobble Hill Animal Clinic. DR. BATTIATO of St Frances Animal Hospital. They are both in the same awesome but sadly rare league in their patience, the clear importance to them in communicating to & gaining the animals trust & keeping them at ease. Honest care & always educating you as the primary caregiver. I was shocked & scared when I moved from Brooklyn that it seemed so obvious in SI that the care was about money. Ive never not paid my bill but you felt it. I never felt it with Dr. Maddox. Every visit was educational. You became a better caregiver to your pet from having him & you trusted him. This lack of trust was a reason I hesitated from getting another dog in SI. Happily, I finally found Dr. Battiato at St. Frances. I cant speak of the other vets that work there. But happily again, DR. BATTIATO also works in the brooklyn office of St Frances. Ive missed so much being able to trust a vet. So glad we found him.

They do not help, blame on each other their mistakes and and charge you high bills, longer your pet is sick more income for them, why they would help you right away? Nothing Saint. I had to read reviews carefully. I would give them (-5) stars if it was possible. Google your pets problems and you will find solutions like I did.
