I was brought in through the ER, which wasnt bad. I was seen quickly and taken care of. Unfortunately I was admitted. Here is where all the problems occurred. Some of the nurses here have no business working with sick people! 2 of the nurses and 2 nursing assistants were absolutely horrible! I was there due to breathing problems and these women treated me so terribly, with pure contempt, disrespect, zero compassion, they mocked me, laughed in my face and thought the fact that I was reporting them was hysterical. The way the treated me exacerbated my breathing problems! They actually made me so stressed that my breathing got worse. I reported these women numerous times, however I do not feel much was done by the ADN. Because I was still treated horribly. I have at this point retained an attorney. And I will take this as far as I can to ensure no one else is treated like I was. Shame on all of them! I must mention that I did have 3 nurses that were wonderful. If you can, please avoid this hospital. My health was actually threatened while I was there.

I was woken up at 4:30am by by son who had a 103.2 fever. I got to the hospital around 4:45 and I was amazed by the staff. I was getting ready for the hell of an emergency room with one very tired 11 year old and a very sick 7 year old. Instead, we were greeted right away. The nurse sat my son down right away to get his vitals and moved him right into the bed. The physician came within 15 minutes to check on my son and then asked another physician to check him as well to make sure the diagnosis was agreed upon. My son was diagnosed with Croup. He was given meds and we were out within an hour. But these nurses went out of their way to make my kids feel comfortable. They stayed and had full blown conversations, asked if they needed juice about 4 times within that one hour. They even gave my older one juice every time the younger one asked even though he was not a patient. So thank you ER staff for being amazing!! You guys were amazing!!

There rude unfriendly and especially if your a frequent flyer because you have a chronic illness they are even worse. I even had nurses talk bad about me behind my curtain while ibwas standing there as if i couldnt hear them. God help you if you ever get admitted you may as well signed yourself into hell!! And not all but most of the nurses literally just got put of school so if you dont keep track of tour meds your either not getting them or there giving you someone elses. And god for bid you ask for help and there is no pca around u may as well do it yourself. I even had a nurse last night get into an argument with me because I needed my pain meds. I was in so much pain I was crying and I was over due for them. This idiot couldnt tell time. She kept insisting it was 2am when it was 3am then realized she was wromg. NEVER APOLOGIZE AND gave me my meds and ran out of the room never to be seen AGAIN. DISGUSTING

I am at the hospital almost every week at the blood center and have frequented the ER a number of times. Recently I was admitted and spent almost a week there. Their staff is top-notch, professional and caring. I would not go anywhere else in the event of an emergency. I trust them enough to trust them with my life and what better is there to say about a hospital?

Unfortunately I was brought to the ER twice in the last year. Both times the staff was friendly and the quality of my care was good. On one occasion I needed emergency surgery and I was made to be comfortable and they expertly took care of my issue. This is a great hospital. I have no problem going there should I need it. (but I hope I dont lol)

My family and I were not please with how nurse Michelle from CCU treated my father after he suffered a stroke. She was very rude to him and the one time we asked her for help she was rude to us as well. Overall his experience was okay. I am glad he is back home and doing much better. Will definitely stick to SIUH North over South.

3 hour wait and they wouldnt give me my x rays. Please if you can go some where else. The doctor was very unprofessional and was in the front smoking cigarettes when I left. Its funny because they have signs all over saying they are a smoke free hospital. while their whole staff are chain smokers.

My wife was taken to ER of SIUH South after a road accident. She was taken care off quite well. Dr William Caputo was extremely professional and caring. We are thankful for all the efforts of the doctor and nursing staff at the hospital.

Basically no wait for the ER. Dr. Nima was wonderful. The nurse kept me calm while they ruled out pulmonary embolism. Turned out it was just hypokalemia and I was back home in my bed within hours.

A while ago, I had to go to the ER. The service was wonderful. My wait time was literary three minutes. After that I was admitted. Nurses and the attending doctor were excellent.
