I bought my puppy from a pet store that offered her with insurance through this particular vet. The insurance consisted of discounted medications and free visits. I took the offer because of my financial situation. The only catch was that I had to get all her shots through them and get her fixed through them if i chose to do so. Well I did get her fixed through them. When I picked her up, the one assistant was kind of snobby to me and handed her over to me still high and loopy as well as still bleeding from her stitches area. Whatever, I cleaned her up. Then the next day I noticed she had a flea! It is what it is. Here I thought this was the worst. She was limping on and off for 2 months. I took her there to get it checked out. He said to come back in a week. She was getting worse, so I took her sooner. He charged me 250 for to knock her out and take xray, medications and blood work. When he read me the xrays he couldnt tell me exactly what was wrong. He just said it was an infection eating at her femur bone. He gave me the option of medications then second xray or biopsy for 1500. So I obviously chose meds and second xray. He wanted to see her 2 weeks later after meds treatment. Well a week later she was doing the same, so I called them and asked them for the xrays. After a song and a dance and running through the hail storm to get them I finally got them. I took the xrays to a second opinion. He was able to look at them and tell me right away that she had Legg Calves Perthes Disease and needed emergency surgery. We then took her to Blue Pearl for surgery (excellent place by the way) and the surgeon told me right away she had Perthese disease. My 11 month old puppy had surgery (4,000 dollars by the way) and the surgeon told me that when he opened up her leg her bone just crumbled to mush. If she wouldve waited one more week it wouldve crumbled as she walked and we wouldve had worse problems on our hands. Now my question is, if you are a vet shouldnt you be able to read xrays? How come 2 other individuals were able to tell me right away, and the vet from queens animal hospital couldnt? well his secretary called me the day before my puppys xray and I told her what happened. I also mentioned how come he couldnt read the xray. she then called back 5 minutes to ask me what the disease was again and how to spell it. ok...... 2 days later the vet called me back and started yelling at me saying he was offended that I told his secretary he misdiagnosed her. Now I didnt say that because he was on the right track with the infection eating the bone, but if they were able to read the xray how come he couldnt. So he asked me do you know what Perthes Disease is? and i said yes do you? Every time I tried to talk he would talk over me and talk down to me in a very unprofessional manner. Maybe he felt guilty for not being able to read the disease off the xray. He told me that there is no scientific way to tell if it is perthese disease or not, but yet the way to tell if it is is through x ray. I can go on and on about how he treated me on the phone and everything he said, but its not about that. If I wouldve waited the 2 weeks like he suggested, she wouldve been worse since she had to go for emergency surgery.I will no longer bring her to this place, I dont care if I spend more for better care. My puppys health is what matters.

After many years of avoiding this clinic and coming back for a second chance, its shockingly amazing! Here is why. It has been over 6 years since I been to this clinic. 6 years ago the staff and the doctor were horrible to my dog (remembering leaving this place with my dog all bruised/injured and no proper checkup was done) and all they cared was taking my money. After coming back I noticed they have new staff and a new doctor. Dr. Laura, wow, is amazing! You could really see she loves what she does. She did a complete checkup, and explained other concerns she has observed on my dog. My dog is 12 years old. I came here for a second opinion and she explained it even better! Before anything was done I made sure to get a estimate and have them explain the reason why my dog would need this and if my dog didnt receive this what would be the outcome. I made sure to get copies of the diagnosis done immediately. Yes, its pricey, but excellent service! My dog had his nails trimmed as well and was amazed how patient, gentle, and caring the technicians (ladies) were on my dog. My dog hates getting his nails trimmed and blood would be all over, but I did not witness any problem. My dog was calm and occasionally would growl. Ive been to other clinics and they would refuse to trim because he would not stay still and growl. These technicians were not afraid. Definitely will be coming back , as long as Dr.Laura and her staff are there. (The only things that was unprofessional by the staff was that a previous owner had a bad experience and the staff just didnt know how to handle it and talked behind her back, hence the minus star).

Braught my female cat to get fix, they assure me it was gonna be an in and out procedure, that I could pick her up the same day. Called that afternoon, and became shady on the phone telling me that the policy was to keep the cat overnight. I taught it was weird, that they changed their mind on the "pick up policy" over a 5 hours period, but I had absolutely no choice and I just wanted my cat to be ok, so I waited another day. Went to get my cat, They charge me 550$, expensive but again, what ever it takes. But did NOT give me any pain killer for the cat, did NOT give me any atibiotics, or any antiseptics wipes for the huge scar my cat had on her tommy. A week later, even after I did everything they told me to do , the scar was infected, pus was comming out. I called the clinic on saturday the 29 of march, the woman on the phone tells me they are completely booked and that there is no way my cat can be seen, even if their is pus coming out of her little belly, before tuesday the 1 of april, 4 days later. So professional. I had to bring my cat to another clinic that day, and they had to redo the entire procedure because the sutures had boken internaly, and it was infected everywhere. they charged me 200$, gave me pain killer, antibiotics, topical disinfectant and anti-ich cream because they felt so bad about the boutchery my cat had to go threw already. So again, I paid a lot of money to be treated like crap, and worsth of it all, my poor little cat got to have an extra 10 day of pain.

Today I took my cat in for a check up. I chose Queens Animal Hospital because it is a block away from my apartment. Let me start off by saying that the staff is very friendly. With that said they needed to do some blood work and we went to the backroom to do that. This is where they have their kennels. There was a dog in the kennel that was barking at my cat the entire time. It is scary enough for a cat to be a vet getting blood work done let alone having a strange dog barking at it non stop. I did not appreciate that. Why not just do it in the exam room? I found that to be very upsetting. The other downside of this office is it doesnt seem very clean. The exam room could use a thorough mopping. There was animal fur and a few feathers on the floor. I am understanding. I get this is a vet office and animals are coming in and out. But if it was properly cleaned on a daily basis there would not be stains on the floor and it wouldnt smell as poorly as it does. I am not convinced this is the Vet office for me. They should be more sensitive and not do blood work on an animal while having another animal barking at it. They should hire a cleaning service and take more pride in their office. All in all I am upset. Too bad. The office is very convenient to my apartment.
