Im just 32 years old, and was diagnosed with several severe autoimmune disorders, that have left me disabled for the last 3 years of my life. One of which is a very rare ulcerating skin condition that only 1 in 100,000 people get. The disease prevented me from being able to have my teeth cleaned for 3 years, because one of the characteristics of the condition is "pathergy." That means that if there is any new trauma, cuts, or lacerations to my skin or my tissue, it can cause new ulcerative wounds. So... since I was already suffering from severe swelling, and quite a few ulcers in my mouth and gums, I didnt want to risk getting any new wounds in my mouth. Plus I am on drugs that suppress my immune system, making it harder for my body to fight off infection. Therefore, I have avoided the dentist office for the last 3 years. After 3 long years though, the rare skin condition has went into remission. Once I was in remission and the swelling in my gums went down I started to have extreme sensitivity in all my teeth, and of course I was in desperate need of a cleaning as well. It just so happened that my old dentist had just moved away. So, there I was, in search of a new dentist. I searched the web and noticed that Dr. Krempa was not only close to my house, but had a 5 star review. It was after hours when I found him on the web, but I called any way, to leave a message for someone to call me back the next day during regular business hours. Instead of getting a call the next day, I received a call 15 mins later, from Dr. Krempa himself! I knew then, I had made the right choice when choosing him. I mean how often do you speak with your physician over the phone(instead of a nurse or staff member), and how often do you speak to anyone from the office after hours, at that? I was able to get in for my first visit the same week! Liz cleaned my teeth and she was great! She was very gentle, and she took the time to educate me on the cause of the damage that was done to my teeth and taught me how to prevent further damage. Because my gums were so swollen for so long, I wasnt able to brush under the swollen gum, which led to several cavities and the start of decay in almost all my teeth. Ive had 2 follow up visits, since then, to have the procedures needed to correct the damage! Dr. Krempa, has been fantastic and extremely concerned with keeping me comfortable. The whole office is highly concerned with making sure youre not enduring any pain during the procedures. Im so glad I came across this fantastic group of professionals! Ive only been going there for a month, but I feel right at home, as if Ive been going there for years. Thank you southern smiles for helping me with my road to recovery after the 3 most difficult years of my entire life! I cant tell you how much it means to me, to be able to add you to the list of professionals, who have improved the quality of my life drastically. Im so glad I came across you guys when seeking a new dentist!

BE AWARE!!!!! If you are thinking this dentist is good because he has 100+ positive reviews then you are WRONG! What him and his staff do: As soon as you go in for a cleaning they ask you to fill out a online survey about Dr. Krempa and yes hygienists do a good job cleaning your teeth and are super sweet, which is why everyone leaves good reviews BUT the minute you go back for actual dental work youll realize he overbooks his patients and then RUSHES THROUGH dental procedures trying to get to everyone. He did 3 filings on my 3 teeth and was done in 30 mins. Maybe you are thinking "thats great" but you are WRONG! He left me with teeth that felt like shark teeth because he did not smoothen them out after the feelings. I went and saw another dentist who said Dr. Krempa did a bad job leaving me with such unfinished work that I pretty much wasnt able to floss my teeth. I could go on by telling you more, but I believe that this is enough info. WATCH out for him being BUSY AND HAVING GOOD REVIEWS, because a good dentist doesnt overbook and takes his time fixing patients teeth to ensure good quality work!! I would NEVER GO BACK TO SEE HIM OR RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!

I love Liz (its a "like-love" of course!)! Dr. Martin has been my dentist for many years now and couldnt have selected a better partnership than with Alex Krempa, even though Alex is an Alabama fan! Most of the staff greets me with a "War Eagle" when I arrive because a good many of them are part of the same fan base Im a part of! The staff is super professional and I hardly ever have to wait more than a few minutes before Im seen. Im always greeted by name which offers a personal touch that is important to me. They offer professional advice for whatever work I might have to have done, and try their best to keep the costs within my budget. I highly recommend these professionals to anyone looking for a dentist that will meet your every needs no matter what they are! These people are the greatest! And Alex..."War Eagle"!

I cannot say enough about the quality of service that you will receive from Dr. Krempa and his staff at Southern Smiles. I have had dental work in several other offices across the state and every single one of them falls short in comparison to the professionalism and quality of the dental care that you will receive at Southern Smiles. Shots are basically painless, I have never sat in the waiting room more than ten minutes, the staff is extremely accommodating as well as hospitable and the work they have done is helping me to become proud of my smile one visit at a time. I doubt there is another dentist around that I will willingly go to.

Love Dr. Krempa and his staff. Everyone is so nice from the minute you walk in the door to when you are through and check out. Liz does a great job cleaning my teeth and all the other dental assistants are wonderful too. Dr. Krempa recently capped some of my lower teeth and replaced an old lower bridge. I love the results. They are wonderful for dental emergencies also. Dr. Martin is also great. I moved to Mobile about three years ago and was worried about changing dentists. I had the same dentist for over 30 years. I feel just as at home here as I did at my old dentist. My husband is also a patient and loves them as much as I do.

My wife went into have a root canal done and it was a botched job. My wife had pain days after the procedure, he did not even finish the Job the first TIME! She developed an infection from the first job. When My wife went back for a follow up, he treated her pregnancy as if it was an inconvenience when she refused a second x-ray! The nurse even insinuated that she might miscarry anyway so a x-ray wouldnt be too bad! After all of this they tried to reschedule in a MONTH! Poor workmanship and even worse bedside manner. So we will not be back and I certainly DO NOT recommend this practice.
