the business is shady, and the "care" was abusive. After making an appointment for shots for two dogs, we were treated to a two hour wait (why did we make an appointment?). Then, were taken to a conference room to discuss charges - where we were presented with a $600.00+ bill, which included a plethora of tests and treatments that we did not ask for, followed by them arguing with us about doing these tests - after we had made it clear that this visit was for vaccinations so that the dogs can be kenneled if needed. After they finally realized that we werent there to get soaked, they agreed to the vaccinations we requested - $87.00 per dog. When we got the dogs into the room, the vet proceeded to manhandle the dogs. she was so rough she had the smaller dog crying out, which got our larger dog trying to protect the smaller one, So they muzzled him for his shots (he didnt try to bite, by the way) and then manhandled him to the point where he was so tensed up when she gave him the shots, she actualy remarked, " hes going to be sore tomorrow, since he was so tense when I gave him the shots". My dogs are both experienced with going to the vet, and other vet visits have never been like this. If my doctor were to treat me like that, theyd probably need to put a muzzle on me, too. Needless to say, were shopping for a new vet.

The best way to judge a clinic is in how the people treat your pet. We brought our very sick 18 year old cat in to Caring Critters Animal Hospital. The entire staff made the stressful experience as comfortable as possible. The Vet Tech (I wish I could remember her name) took extra time to get our pets history - a long and complicated one at that. She then accompanied Dr. Zimmerman for the exam. Dr. Zimmerman was amazingly quick grasping a complex case and shared her observations in understandable language. Our test results came back earlier than expected (the next day!) and Dr. Zimmerman took extra time explaining the seriousness of the situation - laying out various treatment options keeping our pets comfort at the core of the care plan discussion. I cant thank her enough for her candid manner - and the length of time she took to educate me so we could make a good decision regarding our pets treatment. I highly recommend Caring Critters Animal Hospital.

I had made an appointment for my dog (1 of 4) she had a tumor on her foot. the night before the appointment she chewed it off. There was an open sore where the tumor was. When I took her in, Dr. Z. checked her foot and the rest of her body. She had a fox tail in her ear. They left and came back with an computer print out of what it was going to cost. A 45.00 appointment quickly became an 200.00 appointment. She had a fox tail removed and was given a shot. I got the script filled at Wal-Mart for 4.00. annd was told to get some sea salt to put on Rileys foot. That I order through Amazon for 13.00 a can I got two which took over a week to get. Im on SSD and dont have a lot of money. The care for your pet is there but very expensive. There is not a lot of places to go in Apache Junction. It took about 4 weeks to heal and I had to do daily cleaning on her foot she seems like it does not bother her. I never took her back for a follow up visit.

Excellent experience. Would highly recommend. I took my german shepherd in as a new patient for an exam and follow up ear infection visit. He had chronic ear infections for years (hes 7). Dr. Zimmerman took her time with him. His ear infection had resolved (again). She gave me new preventative measures to follow that Ive not been aware of from past evaluations at other clinics. Our dog IS hearing better now, and has no infection. His chronic fluid is gone. At time of visit we also discussed other questions I had. Dr. Zimmermans staff provided literature as reference materials after discussions. Office is asthetically okay on the outside, but once inside - office is clean and welcoming. All staff we encountered were welcoming and caring. I would highly recommend Dr. Zimmerman and her staff to care for your dog.

Over the years several of my cats have received medical care from Caring Critters. On occasion I had to go to other small animal veterinarians in the area, so I have first-hand knowledge of local quality of care and expertise for comparison. My assessment is that Dr. Zimmerman and her staff are extraordinarily well educated in their field. They know what questions to ask, what tests to perform if needed, and describe possible treatment options and anticipated results. They are sensitive to the feelings of the pet owner and the pet. I feel fortunate to have Dr. Z and her assistants to tend to my cats physical and emotional health. Its clear that all at CC are honest, sensitive and committed to my babies well-being. Id give more stars if I could!

After going to 2 different Vets in the Mesa and Apache Junction area in Arizona and 1 Vet in our home state of Wyoming my Shihtzu still had draining gooey ears that everyone said was an ear infection. He was miserable! I looked around for yet another Vet. I was driving down the road and saw Caring Critters Animal Hospital. I called and made an appointment. I was very pleased with my choice when I walked in the door. Prompt, courteous service and nice people. The Vet, Robin, diagnosed Gizmo as having allergies and put him on Allergy Medication. She was right about this! After 7 months of misery and great expense our little boy is happy and his ears are clear! I would highly recommend this Clinic! Thank you Caring Critters!!!

We had a beloved dog that developed cancerous tumors in her throat. The vets at Caring Critters helped us try to cure them with meds but it didnt work. After a few weeks I became concerned that our dog would become unable to breathe and I didnt want her to suffer. Caring Critters made an emergency appointment for us to bring her in and have her euthanized. It was a very hard decision but the vet and the assistant were very caring and kind to us during the procedure. A few weeks later they even sent us a condolence card on our loss. We moved away from the area but we would definitely recommend them as a veterinary source. They are good people who love animals and are nice to clients.

Dr. Zimmerman is an amazing vet. My financial situation was tight at the time I needed help with my sick dog and Dr. Zimmerman worked with me on the charges. She never treated me different because I couldnt afford all the services. I feel she has a genuine love and compassion for animals and cares for their well being above all else. She is a wonderful doctor! The negative reviews just dont sound like her or her staff at all. My dog had cancer so I was in there a lot towards the end and never received anything close to a negative staff, demands for excessive charges, or a long wait in the waiting room. 5 stars all the way! This vet rocks!
