Repost: Please read & share. ARROW ANIMAL HOSPITAL 51ST AVE/ THUNDERBIRD I just want to share my experience with everyone last night because things like this is something that can not go unheard of. As many know I had a beautiful Silver Labador that I loved, adored and was utterly obsessed with, Topanga. Yesterday at 11 am I took her into her normal vet she has been going to since she was a pup, to get a spay down on her. They told me she wouldnt be able to get the surgery done on her until 4ish because they have other surgerys scheduled prior. I felt bad for making her wait back there for so long by her self but they said that had to be her drop off time. They called me at 4:18pm telling me she was done and was fine and did great! However they told me that I couldnt pick her up until 7pm because she wasnt waking up normally out of her anaesthesia, "but that is sometimes normal and sometimes bigger dogs take longer to wake up completely" word for word. My dog was not coherent what so ever. When one of my brothers went to go pick up my dog for me around 7 because I was finishing up at work still, she was not coherent, she couldnt walk, they had to wheel her out to my car on a cart, her gums were white and her heart was racing like in this video! The vets told my brother when Topanga was getting out of the kennel to come out to the car to come home, she was wobbly and FELL!!! They said they took blood work and ultra sounds to see if everything was ok aftrr she fell and everything looked "normal". Ya bullshit! THEY TOLD US THAT SHE JUST NEEDED MORE TIME TO WAKE UP COMPLETELY FROM HER MEDS AND SHE WILL BE UP AND WALKING BY 8PM!!! Well that was NOT the case what so ever! She was like this at home for about an hour and half before I couldnt take it anymore and not seeing her snap out or come down from her meds I finally took her into a 24 hr emergency hospital where i experienced the worst night I have ever, will ever, in my life. I lost her, they preformed CPR on her 3 times and there wasnt anything they could do anymore. This whole time Im thinking the vet gave her too many meds (like they overdosed my dog). Come to find out she passed away from internal bleeding! Theresa Macclean from Arrow animal hospital is the one who preformed this surgery on her. LOOK HOW HUGE HER INCISION IS!! I have never in my life seen a spay or neuter with an incision longer than HALF the size of a pinky finger! SOMETHING OBVIOUSLY WENT WRONG DURING SURGERY FOR HER TO HAVE BEEN CUT OPEN THIS BIG!!! And another thing why would you EVER release a dog to go home when they are not coherent / stable!!?!?!?! She needed to be monitored and watched and they passed her off because it was 7pm and CLOSING TIME! its a job, a paycheck to the vets over there!!!! Its not a passion, they dont care that they didnt follow SIMPLE procedures and regulations on a simple spay!! This hospital isnt a hole in the wall either, Ive had dogs taken to hole in the wall clinics to get a neuter/ spay and they were NEVER near anything panga was like. These types of surgerys are so easy and get done 80 times a week im sure at Arrow Animal. WHY MY DOG, WHY ME MY HEART IS IN A MILLION PIECES Nothing anyone can say or do can change the way I feel right now. I just wanted every one to know Topangas story and to please please stay away from Arrow Animal Hospital. Please share this also to let as many people possible know so they never have to experience how I feel right now. She was literally my everything. Ive yet to even receive an apology from the hospital.

We have been clients at Arrow Animal Hospital for over 25 years. Since we currently live with several cats (mostly rescued from a feral colony) and two big dogs, we are frequent visitors at Arrow. There are many reasons we wouldnt take our pets anywhere else. First and foremost, all of the veterinarians are kind, gentle, extremely knowledgeable and highly skilled in all areas of animal health and wellness. Dr. Stastny, Dr. Sherrell, Dr. Flores and Dr. Willms have personally performed life-saving procedures and emergency surgeries on our dogs and cats. They have amazing surgical skills and use state-of-the-art equipment to provide the very best treatments. We have also been fortunate to have Dr. Jenkins and Dr. Peyton provide gentle, compassionate, and expert care to our pets. All of the vets weve seen have been fantastic no matter if it was for a wellness/vaccination appointment, an illness, an injury or an emergency! They listen to what you say and always explain the options available to you to provide the best outcome possible. If one of our cats or dogs is sick, we can always get an appointment the same day. Should an emergency arise, we know we can call and be seen right away. They are open seven days a week from early morning until evening. My mothers vet clinic closes at noon on Saturday and isnt open on Sundays. We truly appreciate their days and hours of operation. And believe me, weve been there at ALL hours! The phone staff is always pleasant and helpful. The front office staff is always a pleasure to work with. They have gone out of their way to make our pets feel special as well as to provide such great compassion to us during those heart-wrenching times we all have with our fur kids. Some of them should get awards for being BEST HUGGERS when a hug is what is needed. The vet techs are friendly, gentle and knowledgeable. The office and exam rooms are always clean. Wait times have never been a problem. As with any medical office, there might be a wait should a medical emergency arise with another clients pet. We know. Weve been that "other client" and we counted on the vets to rush our gravely ill or wounded pet into the back for life-saving treatment. They have always provided the very best treatment for all of our pets. Thankfully, we have only had to divide our bill into several payments one time. They worked with us to figure out a payment schedule that fit our budget and were very accommodating. We never hesitate to recommend Arrow Animal Hospital. Sisters, parents, and many of our friends are longtime clients at Arrow. Weve never found any reason to look elsewhere.

I have been taking my dogs to Arrow for over 10 years. I first learned about them after Banfield (at PetSmart) almost killed my 8 week old harlequin Great Dane. I took her to Arrow and Dr. Whilms saved her life. Over the years we have seen every vet in the practice. I have yet to have a bad experience. When we finally had to put my precious Shasta down last December, Dr. Flores came to the house to do it. She and her assistant were so kind and caring and gave us the time we needed to say goodbye. Shasta passed peacefully in her own bed surrounded by her loving family. Dr. Flores took her for cremation and sent us a beautiful bouquet and note of sympathy. I have referred several of my friends to Arrow and wont hesitate to do so again. At one point, when I moved out of the area, I started taking my animals to a different vet that was recommended by a friend. What a mistake. The doctor there made me feel so guilty because I was not willing to spend a small fortune for specialized tests on my 10 year old Great Dane who probably wouldnt have survived the anesthesia. Arrow has NEVER made me feel so horrible. They always have offered options in the treatment plans and are very good at explaining all of the options and the potential consequences. NEVER have they made me feel as though I was a terrible person for not wanting to do a treatment. Even when my Dane was near the end of her life, they were so kind and understanding when I explained I did not want to do any extreme or invasive treatments. They simply helped me keep her comfortable and happy for her remaining time. When I told them she was having more bad days than good days and it was time to say goodbye, they helped me come to terms with it. The common thread I have seen in the bad reviews is the cost. If all you are looking for is someone to give your dog vaccines and put them down when theyre sick because the treatment is too expensive, then by all means go somewhere else. Arrow cares about all of the animals and will provide all of the state of the art treatment options. If you dont want to pay for those treatments, they will not pressure you into it. They also accept CareCredit and will set up payment plans. I will never again go anywhere else with my pets. Thank you to all of the wonderful vets and staff at Arrow Animal Hospital
