Both of my dogs are very sick BECAUSE of the "doctors" at Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic. I do NOT recommend them. I took my puppy here for an initial checkup. She had a small case of kennel cough, and I also pointed out some scabs to Dr Lieberman. She put her on some antibiotics and said that she thought the scabs were only dry skin and to try an oatmeal shampoo to moisturize her fur. She did not routinely give my puppy a dewormer or ask for a stool sample. After the appointment and while on the antibiotics, my puppy got worse instead of better. She had a 105 degree fever and was lethargic and breathing heavily. The kennel cough also spread to my other 2 year old dog. I took them both back to Scottsdale Vet Clinic and saw Dr Gosche who told us that Sadie had been put on a weaker antibiotic and then prescribed both dogs stronger antibiotics. I again pointed out her scabs and he said they were probably dry skin. My third visit, I saw Dr DMonte. My puppy had started having diarrhea and vomiting. They gave her a bordetella vaccine and a second 4 in 1 vaccine. Dr DMonte also looked at her scabs and immediately became concerned about ringworm (a contagious skin fungus)... She cultured for it and turns out the scabs were ringworm all along. In the month that the first two vets thought it was dry skin, she actually had a contagious fungus that spread into more parts of her body and put people and other animals at risk of catching it. She also gave me a capsule for a stool sample (a routine procedure that neither of the first 2 vets at this clinic did). Right after the appointment my puppy vomited up roundworms (intestinal worm parasites, different from the ringworm she also had, that is very dangerous for a puppy). The next morning I brought in the stool sample and worms from her vomit. She and my other dog are now on medicine for worms (which is contagious to other dogs and people) because she wasnt routinely given a dewormer on her first visit (nor was it mentioned that she would eventually need one). Now, on top of the kennel cough, ringworm, and roundworm, my puppy also has red sores all over her belly (which the girl on the phone said was probably puppy pyroderma). After different people telling me different instructions over the phone for my dogs care, I have been trying to get a hold of Dr DMonte for 2 days and am still waiting for a return phone call. Additionally, the girl at the front counter has tried to overcharge me twice now. The total amount she told me was higher than the cost the vet told me, and when I asked for a printout which showed the lower number, she tried to play it off like she didnt know why the number was higher at first... If my puppy had been PROPERLY treated the first visit with the appropriate antibiotics, a ringworm test and shampoo for her scabs, a dewormer, and a stool sample, both of my dogs would be much healthier. When I first expressed my frustrations to the veterinary nurse/assistant, she said she didnt know why my puppy didnt receive those things routinely, she said some of the vets do that routinely and some dont, and said she would have someone call me. They never did. After hundreds of dollars in vet bills, I am taking my dog to a different vet. I recommend you do the same.

I have NEVER experienced such horrible ODD & insensitive customer service in my life! Especially when it comes to an animals well being! I had an appointment for my cat to have surgery. I was quoted on the phone and made sure the price wouldnt fluctuate with hidden fees. I get to my appointment with my cat and the tech was insensitive and completely rude. Wouldnt even look at my cat, wanted me to sign paperwork. When I requested a phone call after they do her blood work she got extremely upset slammed the paperwork down and was so inconsiderate about my needs. She was extremely rude and emotional with every question/ concern I was simply asking. I wasnt being rude but when my cat is having surgery and I am booked for a half hour appointment to ask questions, well I am going to ask questions. My cat is older and I wanted to make sure she was ok to be put under anesthesia, which is no reason for someone to get upset over. I asked a few more questions because when I called to make the appointment I was told that the vet would be speaking to me and answering any questions also would exam my cat before I left the clinic. Instead, the tech wanted me to sign paperwork, didnt even look at my cat and got upset with every reasonable question I asked. I told her she was rude and I wanted to speak to someone that seemed like they actually cared. A second woman came in, didnt exam my cat and I asked to speak to the vet and that seemed odd to them? Also the vet wasnt going to do her anesthesia, someone else was. I dont feel comfortable putting down an older animal with someone that isnt even a vet. I asked how long it would take for me to get a phone call about her blood work and the "tech" said only a couple hours. I call 5 hours later and ask if the blood work came back ok, they told me they didnt even do it and that I need to be patient... My dad who is an anesthesiologist said the whole situation seemed odd. I called the manager right after I left and left a voicemail with the concerns and explaining I didnt want the tech to have contact with her because she was so emotionally unstable and was wondering why my quote all of a sudden changed. I didnt get a call back until I WENT THERE AND PICKED UP MY CAT. I WOULD NEVER feel comfortable having anyone operate on my cat there. My dad wanted to speak to the vet and ask why she specifically wasnt doing the anesthesia herself. They were extremely rude to him and wouldnt let him talk to the vet. So i called them back and told them I will be there in 10 minutes to pick up my cat and NOBODY will lay a hand on her and I REFUSE to pay for anything considering they did nothing to her. When I picked her up she was covered in her own urine and her cage was all wet. Poor thing, Im so glad I took her home though. PLEASE BE AWARE, IF YOU HAVE A BAD FEELING ABOUT A CLINIC FOR YOUR ANIMAL TRUST YOUR GUT. DO NOT GO HERE. ALSO, the manager didnt even give me a call back until i took my cat home, which was 6 HOURS AFTER I called and left a message for her about my immediate concerns. If you are looking for a vet Dove Valley Animal Hospital is great, a little more expensive but worth your animals life!

We have two Japanese Chins. Mackie, my youngest, who was seven, had a seizure at home. I went into full panic. We scooped both Mackie and Buddy my other dog and ran to the car. I didn’t even have time to put shoes on. I was in my socks. We tried to find an open Hospital in my North Scottsdale location, but could not, so I said go to Scottsdale Vet Hospital, they are Petsmarts Hospital in the evenings. So, off we went. Mackie had another seizure in the car. When we got to the Hospital, there were two staff members at the desk working with two other customers. They both left the customers they were working with and asked me what the situation was. Perhaps because I was in socks and looking like I was in total stress. They immediately took Mackie to the back for instant health care. Then they went back to their original customers, and when they were done they started to ask me about the financial cost of Mackie being admitted. They had no idea whether I could afford their services when they took Mackie back for care. I call that amazing that the pet truly comes first in their eyes. When the Doctor came in to explain that they were going to keep him over night for evaluation, (glad they did, because they stopped one seizure and he had another under their care) she noticed Buddy there. She said, let me go get Mackie so Buddy can say good night to Mackie. She did, and Buddy did kiss Mackie good night. That is above and beyond in my thoughts of an animal hospital. The cost was not that much, and Mackie came home the next day and has not had a seizure since. He was diagnosed with Valley Fever, but with his medication he has only gotten better and better. That was three months ago, and he maybe off his medication in another three months thanks to their early diagnosis. I would highly recommend you use this Hospital. While there I also noticed they have an ambulance. Thank you Scottsdale Vet. Hospital.
