Great staff and Doctor. My family and I have been taking our dogs here for around 20 years. Always been a great experience. Some examples: One puppy had worms but was diagnosed on her first exam. She was treated and is now a healthy 2 year old. Another one almost 15 years ago was hit by a car but they treated her and she lived many more happy years. Sadly around 12 years ago we had a 6 year old lab who developed a terminal heart condition, she was treated as best as possible, but somethings in this world cant be fixed and she passed, sometimes there is just nothing current medicine can do and I do not blame the Doctor. Its just the way life works, regrettably all good friends must someday pass. I read the other reviews and noted that some said there were issues with identifying what was wrong with the pet. This has never been my experience. I would imagine that there are times the issue is not easily/correctly identified but I have never experienced them not trying hard to find the ailment and treat it. I would guess that those times are few and far between as this is a very experienced vet and staff. I am sorry that some of the other pets did not have good outcomes. I would recommend reading the other reviews but take them with a grain of salt as people are more apt to write reviews when they are upset over how things turned out. I would not take them as a portrayal of the business as a whole. I believe I am among the majority that will continue to use this office as my Vet of choice. I highly recommend that you try them. I would recommend the puppy package for anyone who has a new puppy, For my new puppy they even gave me a folder to keep all of her records in. The reason I am writing this review is that I went online to look up the phone number to schedule my next appointment and saw the other reviews. I felt that someone needed to point out that there are those who think very highly of this place.

Dr. Joiner, the owner of Ambassador, used to be a kind, considerate, compassionate vet, or at least thats the facade he displayed, until a few years ago when my beloved golden retriever displayed all the classic symptoms of kidney failure from eating tainted dog treats. Rather than go online to see what else besides pet food had been recalled, Dr. Joiner, knowing I suffer from a chronic pain condition worsened by activities like driving, insisted I take my adored and cherished little girl to a more expensive veterinary hospital more than 20 miles away (each way), where the so-called specialists would take care of her. Not only did my pain get worse but so did my dog as I spent countless hundreds of dollars to try to save her, as I had with Dr. Joiner, even though no one could provide me with a diagnosis. Even when I asked the veterinary specialists at this animal hospital in Paradise Valley to test my baby to see if there was some sort of toxin in her body, the answer was, "We cant test unless we know what to test for." Dr. Joiner knew my dog was doomed and led me on with false hopes of her survival just to get more money. When I adopted another dog, he insisted that she didnt have the health problems that I told him I was sure she had and which tests proved she did have. Then, when she had a growth on her side, knowing I am on a fixed income and that stress worsens my excruciating pain conditions, he insisted I had to spend $1,000.00 for immediate surgery since the growth was probably "cancer". I took her to another vet who relieved my fears, and have been with him since. Employee Danielle has no remorse or compassion, and its clear that Dr. Joiner is no longer the man or the vet that he once was, caring nothing for the well-being of his human or animal clients. Dont take your animals there under any circumstances.

Worst experience I have ever had at a Vet. I took my sick dog in to be examined because she stopped eating and was vomiting. The Doctor looked at her for less then 5 minutes and without anyone explaining anything to me or taking her temperature he said someone will be in to give you an estimate and walked out. Then a person came in with a estimated cost of over $900 dollars for labs and X-Rays. I asked what the Doctors prognosis was and she said she didnt know and left again. When she came back she said The Doctor said to do everything on the estimate and will see what comes back . I expressed my dissatisfaction and paid the $48 dollar examination bill and left. Thank God I found a great Vet right around the corner that took me and my dog in immediately and solved the situation. Not only was it a third the cost my dog actually received the examination from the Doctor instead of a quick glance and a ridiculous over priced quote .In my opinion this is a Veterinarian clinic that only cares about money not animals OR their owners.

Dr. Joiner did not at all seem unempathetic to me. He took in my 12 yr old chihuahua, Io, with dental disease promtly and affectionately. Io was returned to me in a warm blanket, with antibiotics and post-surgery doggy pain meds, as well as a brighter future. Ive never seen my dog happier, or so at ease! Dr. Joiner even called two days in a row to check in on Io. I Was going to send a thank you card to Ambassador, but I waited too long and now it seems the window of opportunity has closed, but they definately deserve at least a great big THANKS! Polite staff. A bit eccentric, however sweet, and prompt veterinarian. A quaint, quiet office. I will definately be back. A little pricey though, but thats all.

Parvo=very expensive. Giardia= similar to parvo, fixed with a little amoxicillian. They were awesome at the front desk, loaded with confidence, but the doctor missed the diagnosis and the result wzas a very miserable puppy for 2 days that didnt need to be. The amoxicillian fix took 14 hours to fully recover. I would recommend the front desk and the actual building in a second as it is warm and kid friendly, but the doctor did NOT inspire return business. Will

Over the past few years, two of our dogs have been misdiagnosed by Ambassador. Because of this, they have suffered needlesly. By the time they finally decided our first dog had cancer, it was too late and nothing could be done to save him. We will NEVER take another animal to them again! I only gave them 1 star because 0 stars wasnt an option.

Unfortunately I had to put my friend down a couple days ago. A friend of mine had recommend this place to me. Great suggestion. The staff there really cared for my dog and my family. They were professional, compassionate, understanding and gentle. I thank them for all that they did to comfort us during that difficult process.

An OK place. Not outstanding, but definitely OK. Pretty convenient if you live close by, like I do, but I wont be driving there from another location.
