This place is like a well oiled machine! From the second you call to schedule your initial (and free) consultation, to all of your post-opp follow up appointments, you will be blown away by the professionalism and prompt service. I chose to use Dr. McCullough because he came recommended by my normal eye Dr. and many family friends. The new location off of Allied Way (behind Whole Foods off of Scottsdale Rd. and Mayo Blvd) is absolutely gorgeous. I have never waited more than 5 minutes for my schedule appointment, and never more than that for Dr. McCullough to come to the exam room. I had one pre-opp consultation- we agreed that PRK surgery would be best for my thin corneas. I scheduled the surgery for the following Friday.. check out the schedule: 2pm- Take Valium for relaxation 3pm- Arrive at office (feeling good!) 3:10pm- Pre-opp measurements 3:15-3:30- Post Opp instructions 3:30pm- Surgery 3:35pm- Walk out of Surgery 3:40pm- Get in Car and drive home I wish I was joking, but Im not! Bing, Bang, Boom- I was outta there! Now, 3 months later, I see a perfect 20/20 (PRK has a bit of a longer recovery time, which is why is the less desired choice, but still totally worth it!). The Consultants were more than flexible with financing terms and offer incredible discounts depending on what you Vision Insurance allows (I have Aetna and they gave 15% off just as a courtesy for having insurance!!!). I loved Horizon Eye- I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who is even slightly considering correcting eye surgery!

I, too, had an issue with the clerical staff at the Scottsdale office, but I did have a positive response to the issue from the office manager, Daisy. I went in for a routine check up and script for new glasses. I paid my office visit co-pay and within about ten minutes I was seen by the tech. He and the opthamologist were very good, thorough, and answered all my questions quickly and professionally. No problem. Got to the check out area and was told that I owed an additional $55. I questioned it, but didnt want to get into a back an forth without checking my with my insurance company first. My insurance company confirmed I didnt owe the extra and I called Horizon to see what they would do about it. They answered within a few rings, I explained, they said they would get back to me. About 15 minutes later, Daisy, the office manager explained what had happened and that it really was a clerical mistake. To my surprise and thanks, she said she would refund the overpayment immediately, no problem. The mistake shouldnt have been made in the first place but Daisys friendly and professional response was the bottom line here. Everyone makes mistakes, but its the recovery that counts. Kudos to Daisy for the way she handled the clerical oversight.

This practice does not keep appointments running on time; I have waited over 1/2 hour and lost pay while they meandered. When I call to ask if they are running on time, and they say YES, I expect to be taken on time. Why do you doctors think only your time is valuable? Also the reception personal are not competent, Diana was rude to me just today, as I was supposed to receive results of a test over 2 weeks ago, and still have not gotten a response from the technician. They cashed my co-pay check on time, but now they are "moving" to a new office, and so as a patient, I have to be disserviced because of their issues. I will never deal with these people again, will not take a referral to their "preferred surgeon"...what a game all these folks have. I will report the service issues to my Primary physician and advise how his patients are treated when referred to this Practice. There is no reason for this. Health care is so exhorbitantly expensive, why one has to endure the rudeness of these young, untrained personnel is beyond me. So take heed, whoever reads this. Im sure your money is valuable elsewhere, as is mine. DONT USE PARADISE VALLEY EYE SPECIALISTS.

Very disappointed with their lack of time management at their office and the difficulty in getting anyone to answer their phone. Expect to wait about 30 min for your appointments. The surgery itself went ok. I was very nervous right before the surgery and just wanted them to check my prescription again. It would have taken less than 5 min to do so, just to calm my nerves. I was disappointed that they would not. They just kept telling me it would be fine. My eyes were severely blood shot after the surgery and it lasted 3 weeks before finally dissipating. Its been over 4 weeks, and I still have issues with focusing and “floaters” in my vision. I believe thats not too uncommon of a side effect. My problem now is trying to get a hold of a person to make my follow-up appointment. When I was lucky enough to get someone to answer their phone, they put me on hold and disconnected soon after. I was on hold for over 35 min. So dont bother calling anywhere close to closing time at 5:30 or leaving a message.

I am so glad I chose Horizon for my eye needs. As a customer of a couple years, I had been moving forward with glasses and contacts. I had been in glasses for almost 20 years and contacts for 15. I tolerated the hassle of estimating when my eyes would rebel against contacts each night and the cost of specialized lenses for my extreme myopia and astigmatism. I had done a LASIK consult and Dr. McCulloch told me he wouldnt do LASIK because of the shape of my corneas. It wasnt safe. However, I came back a year later and we move forward with Verisyse. I had my right eye done in January 2011 and my left in March. It would have been sooner, but I forgot to fast the first time I went in to get my left eye done. One month later, my combined vision is near 20/15 and my astigmatism continues to lessen with each passing day. The whole staff at Horizon was incredible and I am definitely a RAVING FAN at this point! You wont go wrong in chosing Horizon for ALL of your eye needs!

I had cataract surgery a month ago. Great staff, they really care. Doctor Jacobson is awesome. I highly recommend this place. In respect to the person who complained about the schedule. The doctors never know what they will find or what a patient will need. This is not an assembly line they are taking care of patients one at a time. I never felt rushed by my doctor and that is one thing I really appreciate.

Professional excellence. The staff is efficient to a fault. Dr. Levins surgical skills in my experience are superb. I had cataract surgery with correction for astigmatism - the whole nine yards pretty much. No regrets. After the first surgery, Dr. Levin actually called that evening to check on me. Dr. Rockwells follow-ups were thorough, and let me know all was well. Not one problem. So blessed - thank you.

I have had many optical procedures (lasik, cataract surgery; 3 times, and more). I have never before experienced such excellent and thorough care from the staff, epecially Shawn, and Dr Cook.
