When youre more than 4 wks. on the wait list for an appointment and you get the same bs when you call to check, then what is the point? Either the health problem has gone away or, more likely, become so much worse that you have to go somewhere else like the ER. Obviously this is so counter-intuitive to whatever el rios initial purpose was in ever forming a community health clinic. I wish I could comment further on the service, but I never received any. Non-profit they may be, but theyre doing more harm to their community by operating in this irresponsible way, as patient health will only deteriorate more than if they had known at the outset that they clearly need to find health care elsewhere.

I use the Dental Clinic. (I also used the Dental Clinic about 3 years ago.) Veronica is the best dental hygenist I have ever had. She is a sweetie and does a great job. They work on a sliding scale for those who qualify. The first appointment is lengthy because an intake is needed and then you pick a number and wait for an opening in the Dental Clinic. It took me about 4.5 hours in the waiting room. After the initial visit, appointments can be scheduled. - PS Today I have a visit (and I will have more in the future due to my teeth condition) and it is still a bit pricey for my budget even though I am on a sliding scale. $163.20 today 1-14-16 at 10 am on a SSD low income.

I give 5 starts to the midwifery department because I had a good experience with them. However, I am not happy with how the staff handles appointments with PCPs. I have 2 kids that used to go here to see their pediatrician, and every time I call to try and set up an appt., they always say they are full and tell me to call tomorrow and check. My 6 month old has not been able to have his 6 month check up and hell be 7 months in less than a week. I definitely did not think twice to change my kids to a different practice.

The friendly staff made up for the long wait but if you are a new dental patient, find a different dentist. The x rays I had taken at El Rio are useless to any other dentist because they are non digital copies. Just three days later I have to go pay for x rays again because this place uses primitive technology. To boot, they referred me to the dentist that is taking another full set of digital x rays for the same price. Essentially, I paid them to send me somewhere else. What a waste of time and money.

Not sure if the staff here really care about the patients. I have a syrinx in my C-spine which has kept me in constant pain for over a decade for which they gave me 10 mg Oxycodone IR but refused to change it to the extended release which are formulated for chronic pain. Now I have been forced to take gabapentin which has proven in the past to seriously interfere with my daily life. All I want is to have my pain under control so I can be a part of my familys life again! Thank you very much Doc!!

Extremely rude and un helpfull. I have called the office once a day every day for 3 weeks and they will not let me see my doctor. When I finally was able to schedule an appointment I waited in the waiting room for 20 minutes and they called me up and said the doctor could not see me. They never call back no matter the situation. Meanwhile their patients have to wait in pain and agony hoping that by some strange miracle they might do their f****** job. Shame

I called in as a new patients and their first appointments was 3 months after the call. I called again the day before the appointment and they told me the appointment was cancelled since the dentist is out. Note that nobody from their end had the courtesy to call me before to tell me of the cancellation. The next appointment is 6 weeks from now and I think I will call my insurance company to switch to a different dental office.

I was not impressed with the doctor.. she came in didnt even introduce her self looked at my chart and stated oh your on oxycodon well we wont prescribe that here. Mind you I wasnt asking for it either. She went on and on about it. I also experienced lack of follow through and general mis-management of my case. I wasnt happy with the clerical staff either they were not pleasant and bordering on rude. I suggest looking elsewhere.

Never mind the incompetence of not telling me that I would need x-rays from my other dental office for a second opinion appointment, these disorganized clowns decided to wait until my dental appliances were in a cup before having a conversation with me about this. Completely disrespectful and humiliating. I feel nothing but compassion for people who have no other choice but to put up with this crapshow.

Racist hispanic women is just about right by the way. I got my insurance company on a third party call to tell them first hand why I did not owe them any money. You guessed it. That was not good enough for them. I was already billed for services I did receive and payed to avoid a fight. Then they wanted more money, and that is they would not accept the explanation right from my insurance company.

If I could give you all a negative star I would....the only staff that is polite and has good attiudes are the nurses the rest of you suck!!!! The doctors assume just because they work for a poverty level office we all are drug addicts ..... You all took an oath to help people not pick and choose!!!!

finally got an appointment been waiting foe 3 months and the only reason i got off the waiting list was because i was in the hospital twice, if u cant get an appointment tell them u were in the hospital and they have to get u in within a few days

My Doctor Simard is perfect for my treatment issues. Very friendly and competent. So are the Physician Assistants. I am thrilled with the service I am receiving. I highly recommend El Rio. Louise

Generally ok if your willing to jump through their endless hoops. I basically dont enjoy having to beg for someone to take my money.
