The Lab here is HORRENDOUS! They use a 3rd party billing company that cant figure out how to bill TriCare, one of the largest insurance companies in America. Every time they cant figure it out, they send a letter in the mail with my social security number posted all over it. Aside from the billing issues, some of the lab tech are the rudest and under-trained people Ive ever experienced in the medical industry. My toddler son needed blood drawn, so after the tech couldnt find a vein, she proceeded to twist and poke and pull trying to find it. My son was screaming and it took all I had to control myself. Once she finally realized she didnt know what she was doing, I politely asked for someone else to try. She got offended and asked very rudely if I didnt trust her. I was so angry at this point that I told her exactly how I felt about what she had just done to my son. The replacement tech found the vein first try.... My sons arm is so bruised and tender... the rubber band used to hold pressure bruised both arms during her attempts to find a vein. the damage done by the needle and her tearing muscle trying to find a vein caused a lot of bruising. We will do everything we can to avoid this place at ALL COST. With the new hospital in town, Im sure we can find better facility elsewhere. For an organization that just took on significant competition, youd think they would step their game up a bit. Edit: just got off the phone with the director of the dietary group here. she was upset that I had complained to the billing dept about a 1 hour appointment I had with a dietician that want covered by insurance. I was upset they charged $270 for this appointment and had asked that the bill reduced to the medicare negotiated rate. they zero d out the bill, which I did not ask them to do, and this lady gives me attitude for receiving a service for free from a certified dietician with a masters degree... her words. the hour appointment consisted of reading from a pamphlet and printed material and me explaining that my diet was well within their suggestions. no meal plan, no workout plan, no monitored weight management program. no, $270 pays for an hour of someones time and a bit of printed material. One star is far too generous. Never experienced a guilt trip like this from a place of business over something I didnt even ask them to do.
