RUDE STAFF! If I could give zero stars I would! Called on a Wed to make an appt, and was put on hold twice totalling 6 mins. They told me to come in the next day(Thu). When I showed up the receptionist said my appt was Friday. The vet and her assistant manhandled my senior cat covering her with a towel and pressing her body down with all their strength until her legs collapsed under her. She was so scared that she peed on the table out of fear. The vet told me they cant do the exam without sedation. The assistant then ran thru a list of every vaccine, shot, medication, and test they "felt she needed given her age and weight". I told them I couldnt afford it all at once, so she went behind a door to ridicule me saying "this lady cant afford anything. Whyd she even come here?" When she returned I wanted to tell them I could hear their rude comments thru the door, but I didnt. I just said I want to explore other options at different clinics. They said I still had to pay for an "attempted exam" which happens to be the same price as an actual completed exam. When I was leaving the receptionist ignored me for nearly 10 mins as she shuffled thru papers aimlessly, and answered 2 calls before acknowledging my being there waiting. She hadnt even attempted to place either call on hold to simply swipe my card; so I interrupted her 2nd call stating "Im sorry, I have to go. If you could please just run my card and Ill be on my way." I should have just left without paying. I would not recommend. I will not return. And I will tell people about this ordeal.

Bella and Baxter have been patients of Dr. Colleran since they were rescued from the Humane Society 7 years ago! At a moments notice Chico Hospital for Cats can accomodate any of their needs! They have spa day and come home extremely happy! They have vacationed there while we travel and love the room service and hospitality! Even when our cats have a bad CATITUDE, the Chico Hospital for Cats makes sure they are treated extra special to help them calm down. Dr. C, Sandy, Allison, Bernie and ALL the staff are EXCELLENT! This is a 5 star hospital that will always EXCEED EXPECTATIONS! They are very compassionate when it comes to having to send your cat on vacation with God. We have had two cats go to heaven and Chico Hospital for Cats took care of all the details. Brutus is now on the mantle in a beautiful tin. Our cats refuse to go to the same vet as our dog! They arent comfortable around those "BIG UGLY CATS"!! Another example of their excellent customer service was when our daughter moved to Portland OR and needed a vet for her Corgi and Beagle (AKA BIG UGLY CATS), Dr. C. recommended a really great vet and they have been taking care of our Grandpuppies for 5 years! So when it comes to Chico Hospital for Cats you are getting the BEST health care, Spa and Hotel experience you and your cat will ever have in Chico!

Concerned and personal care for your precious felines! Weve been taking our multiple kitties to Chico Hospital for Cats since the day they opened their doors. The level of care is unparalleled. The entire team truly loves cats, and the facility itself is welcoming, immaculate, and equipped to handle advanced and emergency care for your kitty, as well as addressing routine treatment, and dietary regimes. Dr. Colleran is the perfect balance of caring and no-nonsense. But your first point of contact will usually be Sandy, who is a stellar example of warm, prompt, efficient customer care. Bottom line: you won’t find better care for your beloved kitty. Even their boarding area is nearly spa-like. You’ll have to see it to believe it!

I have an 18-year-old cat that wasnt getting much attention from her regular vet so I took her to the Chico Hospital for Cats. The doctor examined my old girl and said, high blood pressure - now controlled by meds, hyperthyroid, now controlled by diet and next we will be looking at a little blip in her kidney readings, then think about a little dental work. A lot when I just had her examined by the other vet who gave her a clean bill of health. She is feeling much better and like a younger cat! I adore my old cat and love these people for giving her proper care!

I recently moved from Redding, where I had 15 years of going to Dana Park with Dr. Hanes. I was worried I wouldnt find some place that I would be as comfortable with, but Chico Hospital for Cats was great. The waiting area is open and inviting. The receptionist quickly got me into a room so I could let my cat out of her dreaded carrier and let her calm down. The doctor was very through and listened to my concerns. The pricing is similar to Dana Park and her visit cost less than I expected. I would highly recommend them to any cat owner!

When we moved to Chico 4 years ago we looked for new vet for our kittys. We didnt know anyone so we were on our own to find someone to care for them. Looking through the phone book Chico Hospital for Cats caught my eye. It is so nice not having to stress them out with dogs in the office. When we had to have one of them put to sleep the staff was very compassionate throughout the process. Now they take good care of our Jennifer, who hates people but she is good with the staff here.

Chico Hospital for Cats is truly the best place for your cats health care. They are kind, compassionate and competent in every way. I credit them completely with saving my Daisy when she was diagnosed with panleukopenia as a kitten. The care they gave her was exemplary and she survived! Dr. Colleran and her entire staff really know that cats need a place just for them, without barking dogs! YIKES! Thanks, guys! You are the best!

I had Persian cats. I took my calico Persian to Chico Hospital for cats for a check up. They did a thorough exam, answered all my questions and typed up a synopsis of the exam for her record. I was very pleased with the service and the thoroughness of the vet. I felt the Dr spent an adequate time with me and my cat and did not rush me in and out like another vet I had gone to. I was thoroughly pleased with my visit.

I have been looking around for a groomer for a while and was told by several people that Chico Hospital for Cats was the best place to take an elderly cat. she is a bit feisty when I groom her and I am the ONLY person she will let groom her. They were able to give her a mild sedative and give her the trim she has needed for years. The staff were great and the gal that did her loins cut did a great job.
