I have gone to this hospital and to Dr. Gebhard for nearing 10 years now. She has treated all 5 of my personal dogs, as well as countless rescues for me during that time. Some of our dogs have not been the wellest dogs and Dr. Gephard has always been compassionate, caring and quite honest. She is quick to research, quick to consult with other vets who have more knowledge on some of the illnesses we have presented her with. Her rates are the some of the most reasonable in the North State. Her level of compassion is untouched by any other vet I have been to over the years. Recently one of our dogs was diagnosed with bone cancer and given a poor prognosis. We opted after many discussions with Dr. Gephard to only treat his pain. He was at least 14 years of age. The time came suddenly for our dog, and one evening we found ourselves faced with a crisis. We did not want to take him to the ER clinic to be sent to his eternal rest with strangers, so we called Dr. Gephard. Without hesitation, and even though she was out of town, she agreed to meet us at her clinic where after a quick exam, she agreed that is was time. At 9pm, our boy was lovingly given his rest by Dr. Gephard. Even though it was late, she did not rush our time with him, but instead gave him and us as much time as we needed to come to terms and be able to drive safely home without our boy. I can never thank her enough for this act of compassion, not only for our beloved family member, but also for us. Dr. Gephard is the BEST there is and we will not use any other vet.

11/3/09-My story is very sad. My 17 year old black lab had seen better days, when I knew it was time to put him down. I called Milbradt Hospital and asked if they could come out and put my dog down, as he was too sick to move (vomiting and such). They could not and do not offer such services, after being assured by a Milbradt employee (Veronica) that once I brought my extremely sick dog to the office he would be put down within 15 minutes. I loaded my dog in my truck and drove there in a rush. I went into pay when I was told they could not put him down until 4pm, it was 11pm. Veronica went on to suggest I could put him in a cage and they would get to it later in the day. I thought is this lady being serious!! I looked around the office and saw several employees standing around talking to each other, all of which were different than the last time I was there (must be a lot of turn-over). My dog is choking in the parking lot on his vomit and no one can give him a 2 minute injection to end his life? After 17 years this is how it ends? In a rage I left and went to another vet, sobing the whole time. In defense of the owner, i never had any contact with her, only employees. In such a situation I was not interested in discussing the matter, i just wanted someone to help me end my good ol dogs pain.

Entire staff , and doctors, are very help full and knowledgeable. My old dog, Shadow got good care there. Sadly, she had to be put down during surgery for cancer.
