Long Story Long: I left a backcountry training because of a severe sore throat and came here to get it checked out. The doc peeked around in my mouth, pronounced "laryngitis" and prescribed me some anti-biotics. On my way out, I took a look in a mirror for the first time since this episode began (backcountry) and noticed my swelling neck and that (gross details ahead) my uvula was being mushed by two big swollen red blobs. Still, happy and trusting camper that I was, I went to get doctors prescription and returned to my training. Fast-forward a feverish night and a day spent shivering in the shade (photo-sensitive meds) I decide this aint right. I get picked up again and taken home where everyone I talk to: nurse friend, parents, google screams "tonsillitis!" I looked under google images for tonsillitis and its like someone had set up a camera behind a one way mirror and made me say "ah" my throat was literally (not literally) the picture that was shown (more gross ahead), two disgusting pus-y golf balls making my poor uvula tadpole the meat in their gross sandwich. Just to be safe I checked up on Laryngitis images and while Im sure theyre there, I did not recognize any of the parts shown me by that search so what could doc have seen that made him come to his stunningly bad conclusion? Of course googleMDs findings were confirmed by two wonderful actual doctors what I would like to call a real clinic, who, thanks to Medical Center of Marin I didnt have the pleasure of being introduced to until two sweaty, airway swelling, sleepless nights later than could have been possible. These doctors, by the way, figured out that someone with a severely restricted ability to swallow solids might prefer liquid medications rather than the jumbo pills I got the first go-round, go figure. All in all, Medical Center of Marin didnt kill me or come close, but they did cause me a fair share of misery and werent even all that friendly in the process. Their unprofessionalism is on my mind a lot these days as Im recovering (at least two days behind schedule, thanks!) and is what compels me to write in such great detail here. MCoM, I dont know if you read your reviews but I hope you do, holler at me if you feel like reimbursing me the $200 I wasted on your services, you can keep the $45 you charge for the strep test, even though nobody ever really told me the result from that one.

Had an unusal rash - a friend convinced it was Shingles (since she has it)- went to the Clinic since Im inbetween Doctors & moving to NY. First they didnt take the insurance, but OK. I told the Dr. it appeared to be Shingles, but she was more convinced that it was Poison Oak. I Had been in an area with poison oak while golfing, BUT this was on my rib cage & no way it couldve gotten there. She gave me all the reasons why she thought it was NOT shingles. In fact, she teaches at UCB about Poison Oak to med students & even took some pictures. Prescribed cortizone. 4 days later getting worse, now starting to hurt - friend still thinks its shingles. Was fortunate to be able to visit a UCSF Dermo & in 15 seconds diagnosed as shingles. So now Ive waited 4+ days, condition worse & a complete mis-diagnosis. To add insult to injury she took a culture - but according to UCSF guy, you cant do that for shingles with a simple swab - its a sophisticated test costing upwards to $1000. Bottom line, if its a skin disease, try & find a specialist. Not worth the anxiety & suffering. And it cost $217. I will be "requesting" my money back.....

If you ever need to go to the doctor and you cant get an appointment or if you have a minor emergency and dont want to deal with the hassle of the ER, this is your place! My family has been to this Urgent Care facility over a dozen times in the last few years and we have been seen for sinus infections, x-ray of a broken toe, received a breathing treatment, stitches and everything in between! Last night my oldest son had a biking accident and we arrived at the MCM about 15 minutes before closing. I was amazed at how wonderful the staff still was! Dr. Cipa even stayed a bit late to finish up and with the way they treated my son you would have thought we were the first patients of the day and not the last. His injury required six stitches and it was so nice to have that done for our specialist co-pay rather than waiting in the ER on a Friday night! We used to live within two miles of this center but have moved and still make the drive in because we know how fast they will see us and how wonderful the service is!

Well I am home now and want to give a shout out to this clinic. I was visiting my cousin a couple of weeks ago and unfortunately started feeling weird and just not well. My cousin has been here before for her daughter and so off we go to see what is going on with me. I found that it was very clean and convenient and surprising quick. They were super helpful on a weekend when most places besides the Emergency Room were closed. By the way this is a much better option than then ER. My issue was diagnosed quickly as a bit of dehydration and steps were made quickly to get me up and on my way quickly so that I could enjoy my vacay with family. Feeling great now.

I have had an ongoing Workers Comp claim and the staff and Drs at this center have been overwhelmingly helpful. I read that the parking was next door, which is not the case at MCOM. There is ample parking bhind the building (their own lot), in front and along the road behind the center. Anyway, I would like everyone to know that these people went above and beyond their duties in MY case and helped me to get money from my carrier for all of my bills quickly and with no problems. Keep up the great work in Corte Madera and thanks from my family and me!!

This place is great! I cut myself at work and they had me in and out of there within a couple hours , stiches , meds, follow up appointment and all. The lady doc there really knows her stuff. The staff were a bunch of really sweet gals, and I am SO happy i didnt have to spend all day in the ER!!

Medical Center of Marin is a great health and wellness clinic! I was not aware of MCOM until my injury. I like the fact that I received the care I needed under one roof. All the staff is terrific. Thank you!
