I loved this place! The night before my visit I was shaving my dog and accidentally cut the inside of her upper hind leg. (You know that really thin part in the "armpit" of the leg" I freaked out but decided to wait until the AM before taking her in some place. I called my usual vet the next day, and they said that it would be $600+ for her to be sedated, stitched etc. They said they would not close the wound without the animal being put under. We could not afford that, so we thought we would wait and let the wound heal. In the back of my mind I knew it would not close easily on its own because when she sat or jumped it would open. It was just the top layer of skin, but underneath was muscle. My mom told me about this place and I called just to see what they had to say. To my surprise, the gal who answered, a sweet mom-to-be named Amber, asked the doc right then what he thought. She came back and said the doc said it might need to be closed but it might not, and it could heal on its own but it would take longer. This was amazing, because after my 3 round town vet calls, no one actually asked the doc. Everyone said you have to come in to have her evaluated. They could tell me nothing over the phone. Then I asked for an estimate, and I got one. Amber said staples would be cheaper and gave me a quote of $90. I was amazed! She was able to fit me in that afternoon and when I got there all the staff was great! She took Lilly right on back and the doc said he could close it fast with a few staples. 30 min later, I was on my way and only paid $33.65!!!! I felt so much better knowing Lilly was on a better path to healing and I am so thankful for this place. My mom has a similar story with them being WAY cheaper compared to another vet.

Dr. Putty my vet of over 20 years merged with them. I called during regular hours on a Friday needing to bring in an injured cat that was in a lot of pain. They couldnt get her in until Monday (even though they are opened from 7:30-6:30 Mon-Sat) because they "had too many other emergencies already call in..." Dr Putty and his staff knew us and in the past would have squeezed us in even if he had to stay after hours... The girl on the phone didnt even have updated shot records, she said the cat hadnt gotten her shots in two years, yet I have a receipt that clearly shows the cat had seen Dr Putty in July of 2014, Dr Putty would have told us then that she needed her vaccines updated! Besides that Dr Puttys staff would have called me to tell me that I needed to get the cat in for her annual checkup and boosters! Since neither Dr Putty or his old staff was there I didnt get the same level of care that he used to give. Ill look for a single practice where theyre not too busy to know all their patients and their patients history without having to look in the computer; thank you very much... Also their website didnt even show Dr Putty was added to their staff although hed been there for near three months and if you click on the "Make an Appointment" tab theres no appointment making information...

Moved back from Portland Oregon in 2015 , called our old vet that we had for years in Citrus Heights thinking no biggie, but they were not willing to order prescription food that btw, is much needed for pet, Smudgies long term health care . Old town however; stepped up and took it on easily with even adding auto reorder each month. Plus another pet, our older cat ,named Kat she was treated with such concern, and great care. David, the doctor aide was amazing as well. the front office staff are the best always, on phone and in person. Doctors listen, treat our pets with concern with the best out come as given each one. Yes, we are at ease with them because, they as a whole do care, and we feel at home again! Thank you so much , the Kerr family.

Absolutely the best veterinary clinic we have ever received care from. I have referred several friends and their dogs, and they feel the same. The facility is clean and up to date. Staff is always friendly, helpful and professional. They make you feel like they remember you and your pet, even if you dont visit often. The doctors are skilled, caring and up to date on the latest treatment options. I have never felt pressured to spend more money for testing or treatments. The preventative care plans they provide, take care of my dogs health needs at an affordable price. They now even offer a monthly payment option. Overall, I dont think you can beat the quality care and personal touch they provide.....

We just LOVED David, the technician who trimmed our dogs nails last weekend. He was very thorough. I love that he came back and gave us a full report on how each nail was growing on each of our dogs feet. I am definitely going to request him next time we come in. We also love Dr Wooden. We were recommended to Old Towne Animal Hospital by our dog training, Renee Miller (Albree Dog Training). We have been coming here for a long time. I feel very confident with Dr Wooden. He really know not just veterinary medicine, but he really knows dogs. I highly recommend this place. Can be a little pricey - but still fairly competitive and worth it when you love your dogs and want them to have the very best.

I am a new pet owner, and I was a little nervous about the vet experience. I was unsure of my ability to obtain the right care for my new puppy, as well as having concerns about the cost of good care. The staff at Old Towne Animal Hospital were understanding, patient, and kind, The vet tech, whom I believe was named Jason, and Dr. Phillips helped me feel at ease right away. The overall experience was great, and Maizey was so well behaved and comfortable. I feel that this was a good choice from the start, and I will be taking Maizey there for all of her medical needs. Dr. Phillips and his staff are excellent. Our Pug Arthur looks forward to his visits and cant wait to get inside to see Dr. Phillips. Mimi our Himalyan is so relaxed in the hands of Dr. Phillips. Their care, compassion and genuine interest makes the difference. We love the dialogue with Dr. Phillips and his assistants in flushing out every detail about our pets health is so appreciated. Love Dr. Wooden, & his front desk girls, and Assistants are great, always a smile to greet you. I have been going there for many, many, years and recommend him to everyone I can! Believe me when I say, I have Horror stories I could share regarding my experiences w/other Vet Offices, so I know just how bad some are! To be honest, the only complaint I do have is regarding the woman in Accounting, but, because Dr. Wooden is so good, (professional, compassionate, kind, etc.,), I have remained there!
