Dr. Song and his amazing staff have continued to be a tremendous help to our dogs. Bella has had to have a cancerous tumor removed (HUGE surgery) recently, and while it was very tough on our family, Dr. Song and team have been wonderful and our Bella is recovering well. Recently Bella severely injured her back. She could not walk, sit or stand without yelping in pain. Dr. Song went straight into action and provided me with all of my options. 1.5 weeks later, and after a few acupuncture treatments, our baby girl is doing amazing! I love that Dr. Song is an Eastern/Western Vet, and looks at all sides of healing. This is truly something that is very difficult to find. I thank him and his team for their love and dedication to helping my fur kids. 4/16/2014 Previous review This place has been absolutely WONDERFUL. The staff is excellent and so is Dr. Song. I recently moved to the area, and was very nervous about using a new vet. I have several friends and Rescue groups that have also recommended Dr. Song for his surgery techniques. He is one of the best in Southern California, and people travel very far to use him. I was unsure of how he was as a general vet. After my first couple of visits with him, I was put at ease. I have 2 dogs, and one of them is very large and difficult at the vets office. The staff works with me rather than pressure him into a more uncomfortable situation. They allow me to distract him with treats while they do what I need to do rather than restrain him (which he hates). They are open to my positive reinforcement which is not something you see everyday. My other dog is dealing with a lot of emergencies lately, and the staff has really taken the best care of her. They are kind and compassionate and have her best interest at heart. I receive hourly updates when she is hospitalized and they call me the moment the test results are in. Dr. Song takes a lot of time out of his day to personally call me and explain all test results as well as my options in great detail. He goes the extra mile to answer my many questions and even goes above and beyond to research alternative diets and herbal medicine. He also does acupuncture! I give this hospital 2 thumbs up!

Dr. Song and his team are an amazing group of people who truly care about the welfare and health of your pet. Ive been a client of Dr. Song for several years now. His practice has always provided top-notch care for my dog Owen, and his little buddy, Joey. The first day with me as a puppy I made a promise to Owen that I would give him the extra care and attention he would require in his senior years. Dr. Songs attention to my concerns and the health management of Owen ensures I honor that promise. Im currently managing Owens heart condition with Dr. Song and trying to keep Owen as comfortable as possible. At 13 years of age, Owen is doing pretty good for a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who are sadly prone to this condition. Most dont make it pass their 10th birthday. Dr. Song performs acupuncture on Owen and its made a world of difference in the minor arthritis ailments Owen was beginning to experience. Since his acupuncture treatments began two months ago, Owen now leaps like a gazelle when coming in from the back yard. He acts like he was 8 years old again. It has been an amazing transformation to witness. The services Ive utilized with Dr. Songs practice are general canine health care, senior health care and heart management, acupuncture, and non-anesthetic dental cleaning. All the services have been excellent and contribute to maintaining Owens health. Thank you Dr. Song.

My cat is DEAD!!! Just to be fair - please read to the end. I brought my cat in because she was making a horrible wheezing sound. Dr. Song recommended that all of these tests be ran and everything came out to be negative. I was charged over $500 and Dr. Song said my cat was fine, other than that she might have allergies. You would think that the tests would show my cat had cancer, but they didnt. So I bought the puffer and medications and my cat continued to have problems. Her condition continued to get worse and she stopped eating. Allergies wouldnt cause that so I took her to another vet who diagnosed her with an aggressive form of cancer. She died 3 weeks later. I dont believe Dr. Song, or any vet for that matter, could have saved her, but he could have at least properly diagnosed her from the beginning. This would have spared me from spending $$$ on unnessary treatments, supplies and other vets. I also would not have had the false hope that my dear kittys condition was minor and that she would recover. Dr. Song may be okay to perform minor vaccinations, but I will never take another pet of mine to him and I dont receommend you taking yours to him either.

Yesterday I made the difficult decision to put my pug, Slick, to sleep. He was 15 yrs old, very sick & in a lot of pain. I called many vet facilities and found Dr. Song and his staff to be the most compassionate. My three kids and I took Slick to South Coast Veterinary Hospital in the late afternoon. A room was ready for us. Soothing music was playing. A soft, comfortable spot had been made up for Slick on the examination table. A small sign was nearby that spoke of how much we cherish our four-legged family members. Slick was given a sedative that calmed him, then something a little stronger. He started to snore. Then the euthanasia. He drifted off and looked so peaceful with his little tongue just barely sticking out of his mouth. We were left alone with Slick until we were ready to let him go. Dr. Song and his assistant, Laura, made this experience the best it could possibly be. We thank you.

I have known Dr. Song for 6 years. He used to instruct last year students to do surgery at Columbia, College of Vet Medicine Missouri. He has very good surgical skills. His hospital has very high tech instrument: deluxe ultrasound and x-ray machine. It is good place to have your pets get one of the best care at reasionable prices. Richard

Its all about how many patients they can see. Disregard for your pets best interest. There after your $ for sure! Dont ! Go here if you want your pet to be treated like a family member more like cattle or worse.
