Crazy Face
We brought our English Bulldog "Bella" in for a simple eye infection and now she dead!!! We took her here because of an eye infection a few weeks ago. When we brought Bella in they gave her Cavamox for the infection, we noticed about a week after she was having trouble breathing. We took her back to the this Vet again, they said her lymph nods were all swelled up and started checking for Cancer. They wanted blood tests, Xrays and a sample of one of the nods, about $1200.00 total, of course we say yes go ahead and do it. After all the tests the Vet is still lost, tests are inconclusive they cant give us an answer to what is wrong with Bella and tell us to take her home continue the meds and watch her. We take her home and a day later her breathing has gotten worse she is now coughing, choking my wife takes her back in and tells this Vet something is wrong its like she cant breathe. The Vet examines Bella and says she seems to be fine her breathing is common for all English Bulldogs, They do not try any new meds or shots to correct her breathing at all and tell my wife take her home and watch her. So the next morning we wake up and Bella is turning blue from lack of oxygen and is struggling just to breathe. My wife takes her in again to this Vet and says "help her she cant breathe," a guy comes out and takes Bella back for Xrays and tells my wife you can go home we will call you to pick her up. My wife calls me later in then day, crying and says Bella is dying they have her sedated with a tube in her throat" i ask what happened she says they dont know but she cant breathe and her throat is closed and the steroid shot didnt work to take the swelling down. After i call the Vet they tell me her lymph nods are so swollen her throat and nose is closed, the only thing we can do is to have a trac put in her throat and send her to California Vet in Ontario Ca. the cost of this is $4000 to $5000 dollars. I asked the Vet why didnt you do something yesterday when my wife brought her in? She said we didnt see anything wrong with her, I told the Vet "so pay $5000 for transport to some other Vet that we should have taking her to in the first place and then start a whole new bill with them? she said yes or we have to put her to sleep she is sedated and cant breathe and will die once tube is pulled out. We decided to put have our 3 year old baby to sleep because we couldnt afford a $5000 to $10000 dollar bill, we would of had to start a new bill at California Vet in Ontario, even if they could have saved her. My question is to Animal and Bird Vet is why didnt you do a simple check to see if she was having an allergic reaction to the Cavamox and why to this day you still cant give us an answer to what was wrong with our baby girl? If you love your pets dont take them here for anything other than basic shots!!!

The worst business / Veterinarian ever!! Shame on me for giving them a second try. My first experience was a disaster. I made an appointment to see an avian vet and waited a couple days to even see the Avian vet. I finally got an appointment for 10:00. I arrived early ( 9;45) checked in and made sure I was going to be seen by an avian vet. I waited 1.5 hours, after several complaints they finally put me in a examination room and I waited another full hour. I was so upset that I went to the front desk and told them I was leaving. They said it will be 5 more minuets and to be patient. They put me back in the room and I waited another 15 minuets. The Vet came in and did not apologize for the 3 hour wait with my bird in a box the whole time. When she looked at my Bird I asked her if she was an Avian vet and she no, the Avian vet works on different days. I was done and walked out. A year later I had an emergency with my birds and needed help again, the vet prescribed some medication to start treatment ( I have lost two birds so far) First the medication was suppose to be water soluble so I could mix it in their water and it wasn’t it was oil base so It wouldn’t mix with water. When I told them that they said to just shake it up often. The treatment was very specific and said you need to treat for 6 consecutive days. They did not give me enough liquid medication to last the 6 days and when I went back to get the remainder of the medication they said no and I needed a new prescription and I would have wait to see the vet again. I argued and said it wasn’t a new prescription and that it wasn’t even a refill, the fact is they didn’t fill the proper amount. I’m still waiting to get a new prescription and I’ve lost two more birds because of this terrible business. Stay away at all costs!!!

I have never witnessed such shameful practices in my life. My cat was there for surgery and was forced to linger for days on end before they had a chance to "fit him into their schedule." He should have been in and out in less than a day, but it took almost a week for them to get his surgery done. He was so gaunt and lifeless when we got him home. It turned out they hadnt fed him the entire time he was there. He couldnt have food in case they were able schedule him in. It wasnt until they got a very irate call from me before, magically, within the hour an opening appeared in their schedule. He was home with us that night. Also, the owners daughter who "manages" the place has an in-house motto - "what the pet owners dont know wont hurt them." It turns out that people who spend a fortune on a luxury boarding room may be shocked to find they often take the animals off site to another building for boarding because they promise what they cant deliver. Many animals end up in a facility the public never sees. The animals there are seen only twice a day to be fed and hosed down. So while you think your dog is in wonderful hands while youre away, he may well be in a place you never knew existed. The owners daughter is too busy with her boyfriend to care about what goes on there - and I dont even think the owner knows the half of it. Someone should tell him though. His daughter and the other part time unofficial manager, her boyfriend, are going to "manage" that facility right into the ground, where it belongs.

This is a mixed review. On the one hand, I believe weve always experienced competent and caring doctors and support staff. They know their job. On the other hand, ever since they moved from their original location (a converted house) into their new "Taj Mahal" facility, their prices have become so high, I had to find another vet. Example: We had a small parrot who became terminally ill and was in great pain. Each trip to the vet cost $500 or more. Finally, she needed to be euthanized. We had already put ourselves in debt treating this poor creature. When we asked about euthanizing her, they quoted a price of $160. $160 to humanely euthanize a 4-ounce bird? What would they inject her with that costs so much? The triple drugs commonly used to execute a 200-pound man cost under $100. Is it disposal? How much can it cost to dispose of a 4-ounce body? What excuse is there to charge so much, except as a final grab at the back account of a client who will not be returning with this pet? Seems like they took a page from the Undertakers Handbook. After spending nearly $1,500 over the past year, this simply added insult to injury. Were checking out every other bird doc we can find.
