If your dog is sick DONT take him here !! These people just want money. I went mid July of 2015 on a Wednesday and wish I had gone somewhere else. The receptionist was "sweet" when talking about money but rude when it was about anything else. The vet only cared about getting more business not the well being of my dog. I know that nothing can change my dog from no longer being here but this place was a trying to take advantage. My 12 yr old dog wasnt eating and sleeping more than usual he also started crying when I would pet him in certain areas. I took him here they gave him a blood test and called me back 2 days later. The vet told me it was his kidneys (due to his age )and he started suggesting treatment i asked how much he said he would call me back in a few minutes. I got a call back from the receptionist saying it would start at $700 and go up if he didnt improve. I told them I would call them back she said no problem. (I started getting emotional and had to get off the phone) Later that same day my dad called at around 5 pm my dad had some follow Up questions like "how bad were his kidneys" and "would this treatment cure him" the woman who answered was really rude she said "we already explained this to your daughter ask her" (umm NO you didnt) my dad asked to speak to the vet any vet so that HE would know what was going on she then said that the vet wasnt there and he wouldnt be there until Monday to call back then and hung up. Really? Its 5 pm you dont close till 10 pm and youre open on the weekend so whos there taking care of the animals if the vet is gone? I picked up his blood test results a few days later and took them to an other vet. When the other vet saw the results his jaw dropped he said his kidneys were really bad beyond saving he said anything he would try and do would just be painful for him and not cure him. I told him what the Echo park quacks suggested he said no maybe if he was a younger dog it might help but not in this case. He also said that based on the results something else was wrong as well. He touched my dog all over and he cried and tried to bite him ( same thing happened . He said yeah your dog is in a lot of pain hes suffering the other place shouldnt have given you false hope. Its your dogs time to be at peace. So it went from he needs treatment IV for a few days, antibiotics, and an anti-inflammatory. Also a change in diet so he could get better. To his kidneys are really bad nothing is going to change that he is in pain. Im glad someone was honest with me but mad that echo park wasnt. all they wanted was money it didnt matter to them if the treatment would make my dogs last days painful and uncomfortable they just wanted to get paid. F this place. i will be posting my review on more sites so that everyone knows what type of people they are.

Have you ever seen those commercials with abused and neglected animals? Well, if thats what you want for your pet, take them to Echo Park Veterinary Hospital. DO NOT BRING CATS HERE!!!! The doctor(s) have NO KNOWLEDGE in feline medicine. I brought my cat here to get evaluated for nausea and vomiting for several days. She stayed for one night. When I came back, I had NEVER seen my beautiful little playful cat so distraught. She was screaming at me! She was filthy, covered in feces all over her body. Urine was all over her cage and she was drenched in it. Not only do these people not care for your animal, they lock them up and charge you money for "taking care of them." Long story short, I got a refund for the sub-par care I received. I am currently writing a letter of complaint to the ASPCA and Animal Protective League. In short, IF YOU CARE about your loving animal, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE!!!

Many expensive tests were unnecessarily recommended (x-ray, blood test, urinalysis) to treat a straightforward condition with a clearly defined treatment plan (fluids, antibiotics and narcotics). As soon as I declined the expensive tests, my cat was no longer welcome to stay past his procedure time, though they said they would keep him until he urinated to check his health was restoring. The prescription food was full of fillers and pork and beef byproduct, although advertised as chicken liver - even basic brands from the pet store compared to be much more wholesome. I did not receive a comprehensive explanation on my pets condition, nor verbal briefing on his antibiotics regimen. This place really sucks for desemination of information, wouldnt reccomend.

I adopted a shelter kitty for my daughter & they gave us a free initial health exam. The waiting area was calm & the staff were competent & helpful. She needed shot(s) & I knew I signed up for that. They didnt pressure me to get all kinds of vaccinations. Im on a budget & they were happy to take the time to tell me what shots were necessary & the cost. I went back to get her next vaccination & they were equally as friendly, helpful & organized as they were the first time. She has 2 other vaccinations due in the future & once again they explained to me what they were for & the cost (their fees are ridiculously fair). I did some research on line & everything they said was true. My point being, they are honest, reasonable & our new veterinarian!

I found a stray cat on the street And I did not know anything about the cat and every vet I called said no we cant have that cat in our building and I ask just to get shots and a check up and they said no but this vet said yes bring the cat in they did his shots told me what kind of cat he was and test him for stuff and they are cheap and nice and you can call them and ask all type of questions and they dont get mad dont yell at u or nothing this vet is the best in Los Angeles no vet is better then them and they got him chipped for 70% off so I only had to pay $10 love this vet if u have a new pet come to this vet if u are changing vets then changing to this vet this vet is a 100% a best bet ever

This is not my regular vet, but I live close by so I come here if its short notice. Today I had to bring my cat in on short notice so I called ahead to make sure everything would go smoothly. I hung up after a very lengthy voice memo that just said they were open and that its walk-in service. So I wrangled my cat and went over but the woman at the front desk informed me that the doctor is usually in surgery from 11-4 and as it was 2:30 I would have to come back after 4. I am pretty disappointed as I even called ahead to make sure something like this wouldnt happen. PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF THIS ONLINE SO IT DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.

The worst vet Ive experienced in all of my years having pets. Completely unorganized and unprofessional in the front office. Called to make an appt, they said they take walk ins only. Totally understand so walked in and front office person said doctor is on lunch, you should have called. After I explained I did and was asked to come in, she looked at me like "duh" and said, "well you know the doc is here all day and needs a lunch break". Knowing it was pointless to try to argue with such grace and articulation, I left and will never return. Good luck!
